This food is always on point! My wife and I rave about the garlic panne, the olives, and meatballs. The service is hit or miss. Today was definitely a miss. One of the male servers/baristas exhibited condescending/mocking behavior toward me after I communicated about ordering more food. When I had shared his comments were inappropriate, he did not acknowledge my complaint or take accountability for his behavior; he did not provide a sense of courtesy for me as a paying customer. My dining experience afterwards felt uncomfortable due to the constant power struggle with the aforementioned male server/barista (He is in the picture below on the top left side). We shared two pizzas - one peach and one that was half sausage, and half eggplant. Hands down the peach pizza was my fav! All the flavors were so good together - a perfect sweet & savory option. This is the kind of spot that would be a nice chill but elevated stop for a glass of wine. The service is pretty darn awful but, let me tell you, the servers and bartenders could spit in my eye if it meant I could eat the food here. The arancini in particular was so so damn good. Nice atmosphere and good food! Four of us stopped in at Assembly Row before a hockey game at TD Garden (T subway is right there). Our reservation was ready when we arrived. We shared two pizzas, the prosciutto red pizza and the buffalo chicken white pizza. One pizza is big enough for two to share. Both were delicious. We sat at a high top table in the bar area. Had a dinner at Posto on a Sunday night. I got recommended to this place based on the pizza. The pizza WAS GREAT. Got the spicy sausage pizza. The crust was A+, sauce was saucy. Also got the meatballs. Apparently the meatballs were Nonna's recipe. Also very good. Wish the meatballs came with a little bit of bread because they were sitting in a nice plate of red sauce and tomatos which I was sad not to have something to scoop or dip into with. My date had the octopus appetizer, I don't do octopus but the dish looked fine. We got the ceaser salad. Had an anchove on the salad which looked impressive, but the salad was bland. Food comes out quick, I placed my order and about 90 seconds later food was at my table. Almost concerning how fast the food came out. I would recommend this place for the pizza. And I will definitely be coming back again for more pizza as this is one of the best pizzas I have had in the Boston area. My date and I shared the pizza and it was a good size. This is a 3,5 review and not a 3 star. I went to Posto to try their Neapolitan style pizza, since they cook it in a 800 forno (which is custom in Napoli). However, I left feeling lack luster. To drink I ordered a sangria rossa, which I assume was premade (after looking around the bar and found a red and white pitcher) since even with ice it was not as chilled I'm accustomed. I didn't ask for more ice for a watered down drink. I wish sangrias were made to order. I began the meal with arancini, which came out in less than 5 minutes from ordering along with my mixed greens salad. The arancini was lukewarm when I bite into it and not oozing with cheesiness as I had hoped. What saved the dish was the red sauce, which was straightforward and without all the fluff that I feel is more Italian. The mixed green salad was just a little sad looking with the balsamic and greens. And the combo of feta, apple, red onion, and candied walnuts just wasn't working ... Maybe because of the balsamic ? Minus the red sauce, the appetizers didn't taste like any soul/passion/love was put into it. I did order what I came for, which was the Neapolitan pizza. The dough was soft and chewy, had nice char bites without it being too much. Neither the bacon or roasted garlic competed for attention but complimented each other well with every bite. Overall, the pizza was fine but nothing to write home about. The service was good - bar tenders attentive. Plenty of seating for a Saturday night even when it was busy. Posto does charge a 5% kitchen fee, which I think is high for the quality. I get for a living wage (I've worked BOH); however, food shouldn't overall be lackluster coming from them. read more

Oh my I want to love this place so much. Service from the front of the house to the wait staff was superlative. The meal moved along well. Juan, our server, was exceptional. I tried a piece and it was beyond chewy. We should have sent it back, it was not edible. Next disappointment was the expresso. I ordered a a double and there was not bitter finish to it. I loved this place the first time I tried it but our second trip brought it back down to earth. The food is pretty good, the interior is nice and modern but the service leaves a lot to be desired. They also now charge a kitchen fee onto the bill too by the way, so be prepared for that on top of gratuity. I think Posto is having an identity crisis with their Assembly Row location compared to Davis Square. They're still trying to stay hip for the young crowd but Assembly is mainly families and more suburban. They blast loud techno club music and dress very gaudy. The service starts poorly with the host/hostesses, they're very judgemental and couldn't figure out how to sit us when the restaurant was empty at 4PM. There were literally only 2 other tables that were dining at the time, it was very slow but she seemed so offended that we walked in without reservations... and by the time we finished our meal there were only maybe 4 tables total with the whole place still empty. In a restaurant that's over 75% empty you shouldn't need 5-10 minutes to figure out where to sit someone. It seemed to get worse too as she whispered something to the server as if it was a hassle to serve our party? Our first waiter must've been changing shifts or something because he seemed like we were bothering him by dining there and we got a new guy halfway through the meal. The second server was much nicer, not sure where the first guy went but he probably shouldn't be in the food industry with that attitude. Overall I wish they would get their heads out of their... and do better because the good food is marred by questionable staff hospitality. Located right in the heart of assembly row, this place is great for a place to catch up with friends/family oriented grab takeout from. The restaurant is fairly large making it easy to find a seat at anytime of day. We went for a family dinner on a Saturday and despite having reservations we were seated even sooner. The food portions are very large so we had a ton of leftovers that lasted for days. We specifically enjoyed the chicken parm and the eggplant pizza. Both were well flavored and portioned. Though we ordered pasta on the side for the chicken parm, given the size of the dish it wasn't necessary. For apps we ordered bruschetta and arancini. Both were filling and fresh though I personally liked the arancini better. Our server was nice and even if she forgot something was quick to recover. The place is nicely decorated and pretty decent sized. The food came out in a reasonable manner. I found both dishes quite tasty. The gnocchi were soft while the braised beef was tender. The portions were also quite reasonable. The pizza had a decent amount of arugula and prosciutto scattered. My boyfriend found the prosciutto a bit dry, but it tasted fine to me overall. The pizza dough itself was quite enjoyable. Per the waiter's recommendation, we ended up ordering the tiramisu. Instead of cocoa powder, it had shaved chocolate pieces on top which made the dessert taste richer. I wish the coffee aspect was a bit stronger as there was too much cream, but I still enjoyed it overall. The portion was pretty big, and I ended up finishing it mostly myself since my partner is not a huge fan of tiramisu. Overall, the meal was pretty satisfying and left me quite full. The new Posto location in Assembly is large and nicely designed. The service was great and dishes came out quickly. The short rib gnocchi pasta and bruschetta was delicious. The bread with the bruschetta was lightly toasted while still being soft so it didn't cut up your mouth, and the goat cheese is a nice touch. While the new Assembly space is more "commercial", it's nice that this space allows for more dining availability and a very efficient pizza oven area separate from the main kitchen. read more

Pizzas are great - we tried the eggplant with caramelized onion and basil - eggplant was breaded and crispy and the other flavors came through nicely, crust crunchy with a nice char, yet soft inside and light. The white mushroom pizza was also very good, but my husband was very disappointed with the gnocchi with short rib - said the gnocchi had an odd texture and the dish was 'weird.' Desserts were OK - amarena cherry gelato was good but had some ice crystals, panna cotta was more custardy than creamy and our friend said the filling in the mini cannoli was a bit grainy. read more

Oh Posto, you never seem to disappoint... which is GOOD, because we live a block away ;) I often smell the wood-burning oven and other delectable smells that waft from the kitchen as I walk the dog around the neighborhood. What started as a food truck that served wood-fired pizza has become a full-service restaurant on the edge of Davis Square. They serve up all sorts of Italian flavors ranging from the northern cuisine that often features dairy and cream-based dishes to the south that features seafood, olives, and of course... the vibrant red sauces that most Americans have grown to know and love. The menu is not HUGE... this isn't your local Italian place that has a menu longer than the average children's book, no... it's a finely curated and targeted menu to give patrons not only options, but a wide array of options in a minimal number of dishes. I have not had a dish here that hasn't been worthy of ordering or the price, and we have tried over 75% of the menu at this point. Some of the highlights and our favorites: - Eggplant pizza (thin sliced and fried... VERY unique but delicious) - Short Rib Gnocchi (it's rich, delicious, and the gnocchi are like little pillows of mouth-gasm) - Warm, marinated olives - Garlic/Rosemary fired bread - Burrata salad w/ prosciutto and stone fruit It's a very inviting space, with low lighting and dark wood accenting the other decor. The service has always been friendly, prompt, and attentive. They do a great job making sure you are taken care of and there's not too much time between them checking back on the tables. Overall, we love this establishment and think it's a good value for what you get. I've seen a few complaints about the price increases over the years, but it's aligned with the area if not a bit cheaper (depending on where you are eating... Domino's need not apply for my business). I can't poke any holes in their menu or establishment. Was there on a Saturday night the weekend before Christmas and it wasn't busy but we did make a reservation prior and was seated on the bar side. The service was good and quick and the restaurant is nice and seems like a good chill spot. So we ordered the pepperoni pizza ( I know basic) lol and carbonara and 2 drinks each with a dessert at the end and the pizza was good but nothing special, I feel like The Source in Cambridge had better pepperoni pizza . Their carbonara tho, lacked sooo much flavor and it was soupy instead of creamy thick texture. I would skip on that. Not sure if it was an off day but I'm expecting a thick consistency not a soupy dish that lacked flavor. Their drinks were pretty good and strong which I like and we ended the night with tiramisu which was pretty decent. I drove quite a distance to try Posto based on all the great reviews. Parking was easy we lucked out with a spot right in front, but there's also a garage about a 3‑minute walk away. We were seated immediately, which was nice considering it looked like a full house. To start, I ordered a glass of wine, truffle fries, and bruschetta. Both appetizers were just okay nothing memorable. For mains, we had the spicy meat lovers pizza and chicken parm. Unfortunately, both were disappointing. The chicken parm was extremely bland the cutlet was dry with no flavor, and the pasta sauce was watery and lacked seasoning. The pizza was surprisingly soggy, which I've never experienced with brick-oven pizza. Service was fine but nothing exceptional. Overall, the food felt very underwhelming.
