We had a nice meal here after dropping supplies off with a friend of our son's, on our way to New Hampshire and Maine. Service was pleasant, although we had rather expected our momo to come before the entrees rather than afterward. I had the shredded beef with chilis, which was quite spicy (pleasantly so). Nancy had the phing sha, a flavorful, soupy concoction with potatoes, vermicelli and mushrooms. She is not a fan of spicy food but she was HUNGRY and I was glad to see her eat it all even though it was mildly spicy. The mango lassi was delicious and delightfully not sweet. Pleasantly decorated dining room. Much more on the menu to be tried but sadly we do not expect to have another occasion ot visit Middletown

Delicious food, the lasooni govi was sooooo good!! Cauliflower was cooked perfectly! And the garlic tomato sauce was amazing. Service was quick, food was served hot as well. Went on a Thursday evening, not super busy. I also personally loved the menu, it's simple and straightforward which is a bonus to someone as indecisive as me. The momo's were juicy and the perfect dish to share with someone. Will be returning in the future.

Our grazing the restaurants on Main Street in Middletown continued with Potala Tibetan restaurant. Located on the northern end of main this 6 table establishment is quite quaint. This was our first time eating Tibetan food so we had no reference and nothing to compare to. We got two different beef dishes, one with mushrooms and Thai chilies over rice. The other with colorful bell peppers over a thick pasta noodle. Unless you bit into the Thai chili (which I did several times), the flavors on both dishes were subtle but flavorful. This is a mom and pop place, mom the entire front of house, dad in the back. We were there at six on a Thursday and we were the only ones. It's a shame as it's too good not to be enjoyed by more people. The prices are reasonable and the portions are a decent size. As to the question I ask every time-will we go back-the answer is yes. I want to try more of the dishes and experience more of this food. Other reviewers mentioned tasty curries, there were none on the menu but there were on a specials board. Unfortunately we didn't see until after we ordered. Give Tibetan food and Potala a try.

This restaurant needs some more love! I had an amazing experience but I was shocked to see that we were the only guests during our time dining on a Friday night. The noodles in both entrees we got tasted so fresh and the soup was so warm and heart. The potato appetizer was such a fresh dish with the perfect level of spice. The highlight of my visit was when we ordered a Butter Tea and a Chai Tea, and the owner walked down the street to get some milk for us instead of just telling us they were out of milk. The teas were both amazing and perfect for a cold rainy day. The ambiance is super cozy and well decorated. I highly recommend!

The food is outstanding! Great flavors over all! Such a treat, highly recommend. Definitely felt like I was immersed in a culinary cultural experience.

Service, food, everything was fantastic!! Tibetan food is its own category itself and it's amazing! The owner and staff is so friendly and great with recommendations. The dumplings and Thenthuk are a must try!! Most people think tofu is a "fake meat" and to replace it with me but this place stressed the fact that tofu is supposed to go WITH meat and that dish was delicious!

The first thing I noticed was that clean restaurant smell; everything felt very well maintained, peaceful, and welcoming. As soon as you walk in and head downstairs, there's always someone ready to greet and help you. Customer service has consistently been friendly and attentive every time I've visited. This is the type of place you can take your parents, go on a first date, enjoy a family dinner, or even come alone with headphones and still feel comfortable. One thing I really appreciate is how quiet and intimate it feels inside. It's one of the few restaurants where you can actually hear your conversation without yelling across the table. I ordered takeout this visit because I was shopping nearby, but I've dined in before and would definitely come back to sit down and fully enjoy the atmosphere and authentic cuisine. This time I ordered the Thai pineapple fried rice with shrimp. The flavor was savory with a subtle sweetness from the pineapple, and it included peas, carrots, eggs, and small seeds throughout that added texture. The shrimp were medium sized, and my small to-go portion came with four pieces. The dish was delicious, but next time I'd probably order extra shrimp. They also have a large variety of menu options including sushi, hibachi, vegetarian dishes, and specialty drinks. I especially love that they offer Japanese sodas and Tuesday drink specials Parking is convenient too. There's a public paid parking lot directly across from the restaurant. Definitely a relaxing and reliable spot when you want good food and a calm atmosphere. Already craving another visit

We came on a Friday evening and it was full but they were able to find us a table quickly. Inside, the place has a very casual feel and I honestly wasn't sure what we were going to get when we ordered. Just to say, looks were deceiving, but in a good way! The food was at a different (better) level than the ambience in the room. Basically, don't worry about how the place looks - you will love the food. Our waitress was sooo nice and friendly. We got our drinks quickly and ordered right away. Though we came for sushi, we were all mesmerized by the entree options and opted to try the bento boxes. I'm used to small bento boxes with tightly portioned foods and the "basics." What we got surprised us all. These bento boxes were actually huge plates of food. A full order of vegetable tempura, a whole California roll, entree, soup and gyoza. We barely made it through a quarter of it! And it was delicious! I got the chicken teriyaki and the chicken was so tender. The tempura was fried perfectly and the gyoza had a great flavor. All in all, I recommend you try this place out! Is it a fancy date night place? No. Is it a super casual date night place? Yes! Try the bento - you won't be disappointed! 4/5 stars only because they should spruce up the inside to match their amazing food!

Like one would legitimately be insane not to get it, provided you are an average fan of standard Thai-style curries like Red, Panang, or even Las Vegas style Three-color (Red+Green+Yellow).
