Exactly what I was looking for. One day visit to DFW for business and wanted a quick, reliable lunch. I was thinking BBQ until I saw Potbelly. BBQ seemed too heavy and couldn't figure out a decent one close to my business. Potbelly makes good sandwiches. You'll know exactly what you're getting every time you go. I went with the Cubano (which I cannot say no to on any menu), it was delicious. Had it exactly how menu said in white bread. Flavors were great, the only negative would be the bread but tough to get at a chain restaurant. I recommend any Potbelly if you want a great sandwich from a chain restaurant. read more

1. Sandwiches taste just okay. Subways tastes better and has more toppings to be honest. 2. The main entrances are not obvious to the first time, non-local customer like me. It would be great to put some welcome/obvious signs on the entrances. 3. The menu is posted beside the order line, customers have to look to the left and turn back to right to talk to the staff while ordering items. It would be more practical to post another menu behind the staff so that customer can look at it while communicating and facing to the staff. 4. 1/17/19 @ 5pm: This location is not up to par like the two Uptown Dallas locations. I ordered an "Underground" sandwich on the app plus a roast beef sandwich and Zapp's chips. All tables were dirty. No clean spots to sit even though the restaurant was empty. This was my friend's first experience to a Potbelly and she liked her roast beef but my sandwich didn't taste as good as other locations. It has a good location with outdoor seating but it is simply not clean and appetizing. The background music was too loud. The free WiFi needs to be reset. WiFi here doesn't actually push any data through so it's worthless. read more

The first time we telephoned our order in for a specific time, when we arrived we still had to wait 20 minutes. This time our food was hot and ready with a little apology gift included! Good customer service goes a long way. The loaded potato soup and brocolli cheedard soup are good. The sandwiches are decent as well. I had never been inside of this place and wasnt sure what expect. Well very nice looking first counter person who turned out to be the Manager when I asked after the purchase. I told him tuna on wheat, then I asked when do i tell what i want it..... next person ..... 4 people with head down and i waited.... finally I asked when who do i tell what i want on my tuna sandwich... it will be a minute ...... wait ....... what do you want on it .... i tell non existent smile ... i asked about my drink ... that comes when you pay....... i wait ...... finally i ask the girl about drink and shes not happy. The next girl comes to cashier ... same question.... when you pay........ ok....... then the girl has my food 2 soups and a sandwich. ..... soup is all over the outside... she says want a bag .. i kind of chuckled and said yes and could you wipe the side .... jeeze she starts talking to other girl both start staring and im looking right at them .... i even told the girl would you want to soup all over your cup? Then i had to ask for drink again... immediately the 2 are gossiping andvataring at me again. Terrible service, acknowledgment and the Manager was oblivious to the whole situation. I was so excited a way back when Potbelly's moved to Dallas. I was introduced first in Chicago by brother and we got Wrecked. The ones in Dallas have a very similar feel (guess that's the definition of franchising). This one in Irving is close to work and they handle their crowds with ease. It's fast and easy the the sandwiches are great. I got a chuckle and corrected when I ordered the new sandwich as "Chubby" instead of "Clubby". Theater of the Mind fadeaway "I'll have a Chubby." "You sure will sweetcakes" Cue the porn music. Last time I tried to order online to pick it up fast. But I apparently only ordered chips for $1.08 and had to wait in line. I'll pull out the users manual and try it again next time I need a quick to-go Potbelly. read more

I have become fairly obsessed with Potbelly, I must admit. This is my favorite workday lunch spot in Irving. They get pretty crowded at lunchtime, but they really know how to make that line move. I love when they have live music at lunchtime, but they haven't been doing that lately, and it makes me sad. My go-to is the Mediterranean Chicken (skinny style, please). It consists of chicken breast, hummus, red peppers, and feta- and supposedly cucumbers, but I don't get the cucumbers because cucumbers are gross (fact). I daydream about this sandwich a lot. There have definitely been days on which I have packed a lunch for work, and sometime mid-morning the Mediterranean Chicken starts calling my name...sorry, Lean Cuisine, you lose. The Skinny Mushroom melt is also in the rotation, when I feel like mixing it up. Which isn't often. I had an Oreo milkshake here once. It was fabulous. I love that they have Pop Chips, but I do wish they would carry some other flavors besides BBQ. And I wish they would stop carrying Zapps because Zapps are delicious and I don't like having to look at the lustfully while I crunch on my Styrofoam BBQ Pop Discs. My only other Potbelly gripe is that it gets to be a little pricey since they don't really offer any kind of a combo. I mean, they do have a "skinny pair" thing where you can get soup and a sandwich for $6.60, but A) my Mediterranean Chicken is not on that menu, and B) it doesn't include a drink. My standard order (Med Chick, chips, drink) is right at $10. That's pretty high for a weekday sandwich shop lunch. But I love it, so I will continue to fork it over. Also, there is this one cashier who works here and he is freaking adorable but I think he's probably about 20 and I am not old enough to resign myself to being a cougar just yet. So, much like the Zapps, I will continue to admire him from afar. read more

The chicken salad sandwich and Mediterranean with chicken on flatbread are outstanding. The pepper mix is hot heaven. I'm not in love with the decor -- it's their theme, but it's cheezy. I ordered a Wreck, when I asked what kind of hot peppers they serve I was surprised to hear that it is giardiniera. I love giardiniera, I used to get it from Costco but they stopped carrying it about 2 years ago. I can find it only at Jimmy's on Fitzhugh but the jar is too small. I ordered the Wreck with just Giardiniera. As I was waiting to pay I noticed they sell it there, the small jar is $5.99 and didn't want to bother. I then noticed a huge plastic container full of giardiniera out of curiosity I asked if they sell the big plastic jar. To my surprise they actually do, it's $20 for one gallon, I had to buy it. One gallon of giardiniera sounds like a lot but it will last a long time. If you're not familiar with giardiniera and you like HOT peppers, try some on an Italian sausage sandwich it is the best. Potbelly's is without a doubt one of the better sandwich chains out there today. As a Californian, I always need to grab one of these delicious subs when I travel out to the Midwest. The place runs incredibly efficiently, the deli meat is high quality, and the prices are more than reasonable. You'd pay the same price for a much lower quality Subway sandwich. I tend to think of Potbelly's as the perfect workday lunch as it is affordable, quiet scrumptious, speedy even with a 20+ person line, and relatively healthy. Regarding the particular store, which I've now been to twice, the staff is incredibly friendly and tend to ask each person how their day is going. They seem to enjoy their jobs and take pride in making a high quality sandwich. All in all this is a fantastic sandwich shop. I hesitate to give 5 stars as I would like to see them expand their menu, add avocado, and allow for customizable sandwiches. tl;dr Go nom on some tasty sandwich at Potbelly Sandwich Works. read more
