It would I've gotten 4 stars but the BAD customer service was greatly unwanted!!! Idk how u mad at breakfast! The day just started. The location just opened. What more can I say. They sure know how to make you feel unwanted in a place your spending your money and supporting. I could've easily went to another sandwich shop. Not to mention "corner bakery " was right across the street.... I live for a good potbelly's sandwich, soup or milk shake. As I was visiting the area, and saw this potbelly's across the street it was a no brained to stop Here for a early lunch. Only to be greeted by employees who clearly don't like customers or want customers in there store. They gave me a look as if "we have a customer so now we have work" one employee had her child there that she must been more worried about attending too, which is understandable sometimes ppl bring there child to work. Nevertheless the employee making my sandwich communication was very dry. I felt mad I even walked into this business and gave them my my money. If this was my first time at potbelly's I would definitely not come back. But I know one location don't spoil it for me. I love potbelly's I just won't visit here again.

I ordered a egg and cheese on a flatbread to go. There was no one in line ahead of me, and I was able to place the order quickly. But then I had to wait 10 minutes to get the sandwich and go. I was fine with waiting if it was a good sandwich, but when I got to my office I saw that it was just slapped together. The bread was not even buttered or warm or toasted. The eggs and cheese were warm and melted so I just ate them without the bread. I felt like I did not get a good value for my money. This is not what I expect from Potbelly. PS - Please start to offer gluten free options!

Horrible. I saw a picture of the BLTA sandwich as I entered the store with a friend. She swears by potbelly BUT I really don't like the place - here's another reason for me NOT to like this place. The guy who greeted me at the front of the line was great. me: I'll have a BLT sandwich guy: you mean BLTA me: no. I dont want avocado. I just want a blt. guy: ok - go down the line and tell her what you would like on your sandwich. me: ok lady: (not looking at me) about to put avocado on my sandwich me: *speaking kind and soft* I dont want avocado, I just want a BLT. also, I'd like only one tomato. Can you just cut it in half for me please? her: (NOT LOOKING AT ME) *RIPS THE TOMATO IN HALF* and places it on my sandwich. me: *speaking like my sons momma* wow! her: (STILL NOT LOOKING AT ME) cuts and bags my sandwich and tends to my friends order (STILL NOT LOOKING AT HER) I still got charged for A even though I said no A! They were young and RUDE - with the exception on the first young man who I encountered. All I ended up eating was the bacon from my sandwich and the chips and drink that I purchased. I should have gotten all in your face ASK FOR THE MANAGER rude with her BUT I was with my co-worker/friend in downtown DC who has never seen that side of me AND she probably would have run out of the store and back to the office scared - in an effort not to walk back with me. maybe the young lady was having a bad day. maybe she had just gotten in a disagreement with someone else. maybe maybe maybe... welp - don't take your frustrations out on others. hopefully, management will be able to look at my receipt from 2/19/2020 and figure out who was working what station and have a discussion with the folks. surely, avocado is an additional fee. my BLT should have been charged as a BLT not a BLTA. #boo

I ordered A WRECK which is their signature of salami, angus roast beef, oven roasted turkey, hickory smoked ham with melted swiss cheese topped with fresh lettuce, tomato and mayo on multigrain. I went most of the way minus pickles. Some sandwiches want those pickles but I wasn't feeling it today. Overall the sandwich was very good and satisfying. As I am not from the area, it was a sight to see all the variations of Zapps chips available. At home, we unfortunately don't have that luxury but I am a fan of Zapps so it was definitely a welcome surprise. Good food. Service was not overly friendly - it wasn't mean, it was indifferent. We arrived for late lunch (2:00-ish) and only stopped here for location convenience. Maybe the lunch rush just crushed the lady behind the counter so the less than enthusiastic attitude was a wash for me. After all, I just needed some food in my potbelly.

Last week it was the first time I wend to Potbelly for a lunch with my colleague. While I was waiting for my turn an executive started taking orders through a tab asking us to try the new sandwich. Now because it was my first time I did try the new one but people who come here often know what to order. She was still asking people to try it which was making them uncomfortable. Coming back to sancwhich, I tried half sandwich half salad option. Chicken was tendered and juicy. The veggies felt fresh and sauces were great. Overall, I loved the sandwich and salad. Also, if you go back next day then you get some discount by showing last day receipt. Its a good strategy to make a loyal customer. The only problem is that they should focus on keeping the restaurant clean which is a part of customer service.

    Turkey Breast & Swiss.

This review makes me really sad to write, because I've loved Potbelly's since my Uni days in Chicago. But today I ordered the Turkey Breast & Swiss, and it was just such a disappointment. At $4.70, I sat eating my not delicious sandwich feeling sad about the good ole days - missing the better quality turkey, the crisp (not soggy) lettuce, the red (not pinkish white tomatoes), and the olden days when vegetables took up 3/4 the sandwich, versus the now - where we're drowning in low quality, slippery, slimy, insubstantial meat "products". This is not food, and I don't like eating it. #MichaelPollan #FoodInc I found myself wondering, have they even raised their prices since I was in college? If not, how do they accommodate for inflation? How have they offset costs with rising employee wages and leasing prices? I don't think they've raised their prices. Which (if true) means the only way they've stayed in the black is to cut quality. And I dislike low quality ingredients. This is an easy fix. Raise prices and use higher quality ingredients. Because my sandwich was gross. Rating Rational: Two (instead of one) stars for service only. Nostalgia doesn't win stars if you're selling food (and nutrition / public health). Solution: Corporate could explore joining Chipotle, Panera, and countless others in support of antibiotic-free / anti-growth-hormone-free meats. Would be nice, also, to see pesticide-free, non-GMO veggies. I know, my head is stuck in San Francisco, and I'm a guilty, idealistic dreamer, but hoping for change is ineffective! ;-)

First place I went to for lunch in DC, because we had no idea what else to eat. What did I think of it? It was okay. Maybe it was the sandwich, maybe it was just how I was feeling at the moment. (I'm going to guess though that it was definitely the sandwich I ordered) I think Potbelly is definitely a place where I would come back over and over until I knew what I wanted and not standing in line and wasting everyone's time that's behind me. Because obviously this place has something going for them, I just have to know what. I ordered the Pizza Sandwich, which was okay. The sandwich didn't really give me the feeling of "That was an amazing sandwich" as a lot of people think of Potbelly. As I said, maybe if I went back here numerous times and found myself a nice sandwich that I enjoy it will be that 4-5 star range. I'll be back to do that whenever there is a potbelly around.

I ordered the chimichurri steak plate and really enjoyed it. Funnily enough, the chimichurri itself was the least enjoyable item. I didn't love the texture of it (much too coarse) but, fortunately, it was packaged in a small container separate instead of on the steak itself. The salad probably had a bit too much dressing but I had the option to order that on the side so that's on me. Nonetheless, the steak, potatoes, salad, corn, avocado were all excellent. I also added chips, a lemon zest cookie, and a blueberry breeze handcrafted drink. The cookie is big and chewy, unlike others I have had. It's definitely not something to eat in one sitting. The drink was a little blah and nothing I would order again. All in all, very good!

I've been on a shakshuka kick lately, so I opted for the the Sweet Potato Shakshuka, which is described as: Sweet Potato Curry, with Chickpeas and Sunny Eggs with a the chicken add-on - gotta get that protein in, after all. This was one of the most unique shakshukas I'd ever had... It literally tasted like a curry dish you might get at your local Indian restaurant, with a bit of a brunch flair to it. The curry itself had a wee bit of spice and was a bit sweet - but that could have been from the sweet potatoes. The chicken was served in a bowl on the side, which felt a bit... odd... I would've expected it to be incorporated into the main dish. It was kind of bland and a bit lukewarm, so I don't know that I'd order that again... but I would definitely order this again!

Let me start by saying that the atmosphere in this restaurant is one that is so welcoming the minute you arrive. I approached the hostess stand to inquire if there was bar seating available to which the polite hostesses provided a gentle hand gesture and oral direction to the bar. While walking to the bar area, I encountered what I presume to have been a server who was likely standing watch from a distance over his service area, who apologized as our paths met. (There was no reason to apologize, very polite nonetheless) I found a seat at the bar and was greeted by Paul. Paul was an exceptionally pleasant and answered all my immediate questions while preparing my initial cocktail during happy hour. We discussed the menu and he provided great insight which helped finalize my decision for the evening . In the meantime, bar manager Laura stopped by to ensure that I was taken care of to which I informed her that Paul and I spoke and he is making a beverage for me. For the food...the Caesar Salad is #1. I am a food snob and this salad HITS!! While enjoying my salad I inquired about their cast bourbon selection. The staff was very knowledgeable and provided a price list to coincide with their higher end selections. My 40 layer lasagna arrived some time in the midst of the conversation where Paul extended a courtesy sampling of a wine that he recommended that pairs nicely with my meal. It was perfect. I closed out my meal with an espresso type martini, at which time Paul and Laura further extended and offered me a sampling of one of the bourbons I was looking at. I cannot say enough about this establishment. I can't wait to go back and have already recommended via phone conversations to three people and I just left. The evening and encounter was more than just pleasantries with a customer, rather I felt as if I was the only one. If the owner or manager is reading this, Paul and Laura are 10+ and I will be back.
