I came during the busy lunch rush so I stuck with the menu. I have to say that I didn't think there was any way I'd eat the entire chicken Caesar salad, but I demolished it. So tasty, so fresh. The restaurant was packed but seats became available in a space consistent with the exit of individuals from line. It appears they do a pretty heathly takeout as well. When on vacation, it can be challenging to get a full daily serving of vegetables, so we grabbed salads from here on two separate occasions. With this location surrounded by a number of government buildings, it was packed during the lunch hour, but the staff was efficient in whipping up salads and grain bowls in addition to managing mobile orders. One day we opted for takeout and the other day, we dined in. I could be mistaken, but it seemed that the takeout serving was a little larger, unless the employee just happened to be particularly heavy-handed that day. + ITALIAN CHOPPED ($14.25): A bed of chopped romaine and shredded kale topped with salami strips, cucumbers, red onion, tomatoes, chickpeas, spicy banana peppers and shaved parmesan all tossed in a red wine vinaigrette. For the most part, I enjoyed this salad, but I wish they included a larger serving of salami. Also, I thought the banana peppers were a little overwhelming, being acidic on top of the already tart vinaigrette. + GUACAMOLE GREENS ($13.75): Chopped romaine and spring mix with red onions, shredded cabbage, tomatoes, tortilla chips, avocado and roasted chicken, combined with a lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette. Normally, this salad also includes a squeeze of lime, but since I don't love citrus, I opted to exclude that. The tortilla chips added a nice crunch, the avocado was perfectly smooth and the dressing was zesty with a zing. I personally preferred this salad over the Italian one. I consider the pricing to be on the fairly steep side for what you receive. Neither of the salads contained much protein, so I didn't find them to be very substantial. Nevertheless, they were sufficient for a light lunch and a tasty way to incorporate vegetables into our day. 3.75 stars. read more

The staff were nice, although the antiquated payment processor was hard to navigate. The food let me down, to be honest. The crispy rice salad had some great components but was mostly base with very little of the good stuff--all that for a very high price point. The hummus side was tiny, and worst of all was the focaccia. It was stale, dry, and almost inedible. I have never had worse focaccia in my life! My brother and I had the Fish Taco Salad. I made a day trip to DC while staying in Baltimore for work. The advertisement made it clear what I could expect. Though small inside, it was quaint. It even had outside, sidewalk seating. The line was slow but the wait worth it. I ordered the seasonal peach and goat cheese kale salad with a side of roasted sweet potatoes. It was very enjoyable! One thing I appreciated most was when they asked how I wanted it dressed - light, medium, or heavy. It was 20ish for a fresh salad, the potatoes, and water - about what I expected for DC. Went three nights in a row for takeout. My favorite salad was the avocado. It was superb. Fresh ingredients and fresh chicken. The salad gets a big squeeze of lime and has a delicious dressing. WOW. My husband and I were sitting on the steps near the library & saw every other person walking by with these hexagon brown containers. I mean EVERYONE had them. Anybody that knows me knows how infatuated I am with sweetgreen! I seriously OD when I come back home to DC to make sure I get it at least twice while I'm in town for a short wknd. There's no comparison to other salad spots that match this one. I don't understand why Ohio does not have this yet. Maybe I should be a franchise owner and open one and just test taste all day. Sounds like a plan lol. My first time going to this location in Eastern Market. It looked fairly new and my friends and I slid right into the doors 5 mins prior to them closing. The staff was super friendly, took our order and prepared our food quickly. I like that she didn't rush us though we were there before they closed and I liked that the veggies, meats, cheese and fish were still overly fresh for it to be the end of the day. My favorite, consistent bowl I always order is the Harvest Bowl. It's so much food, so filling and I'm all smiles after lol. The carbs are low, the cals are low to moderate and the protein is high. Bowls were all greens--almost no meat or rice. In their defense, the staff were working furiously because they were understaffed.

When a business tells me my food is going to be ready at a certain time and then emails me that it is ready and then it's still not ready 20 minutes later that's a problem. Staff are not exactly proactive in helping to solve these issues either. read more

They have such strong flavors and allow for a good mix of well-dressed greens and other delicious components: falafels, chickpeas, hummus, corn, feta cheese, house-made croutons, and many more (but those are my favorite). I recommend submitting your order online via the app and walking by for pick-up because the lines during lunch time are crazy. I just don't justify paying $10+ for a salad you can toss together yourself, BUT this place is a game changer! It's worth paying $10+ for a salad here because it's delicious and healthy!!!! This is definitely wayyyy better than sweetleaf. I got the chicken pesto parm, new addition on menu, and it's super delicious! Try it! My boyfriend tried the fish taco salad and that was yummy as well! I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of their salads here. I do like the fact that you can choose how heavy you want your dressing and that they mix up your salad for you. I used to live in Baltimore and when my husband and I were dating (he lived in DC), we used to frequent this Sweetgreen which was one of a few in that existed back then...I also wasn't that active on Yelp back either. Of course we had to visit because we LOVE Sweetgreen so much. Our kids also love salads from here and it can be hard to get kids to eat anything that doesn't have a face (animated or otherwise, lol). The salads are always fresh and they have an amazing selection of salad recipes as well as a customizable menu. I thought that once more people caught on to how great they are that they'd become complacent and lower their standards somewhat. They haven't. If anything, they've gotten better. They have a rewards app...it took me forever but I finally got a free salad using my reward and they have expanded north to Baltimore, NY & Boston and out west to California but still not as far south to Orlando yet (hint, hint). read more

Service is always great. Attentive, accurate and are always willing to accommodate changes. Three stars because the scoop in the items pan is almost a 8 scoop. If that's not the size don't use it. But if it's a 8 scoop give me my full scoop please. Don't rattle the ingredients back in pan. When giving salad I would prefer more than 4 oz. Fill my bowl that's why I patronize. The only reason the review is a 3 star is because it's Sweetgreen. I have been completely converted and am thoroughly addicted to Sweetgreen, as have brought my family along for the ride. We love the ability to create our own salads and enjoy fresh, creative, ingredients, not found in the upright restaurants which are everywhere. However. My complaint is specific to the location. I have visited several other locations because as stated, ADDICT, but this was horribly slow and annoyingly a let down. My children were depleted by the time we made it to the counter, my son was no longer hungry and held our table. We waited in line for more than 20 minutes because we were dedicated to the mission. I had my phone in hand, ready to order online instead. As I watched other orders come in though, they went straight to the line and sat. No one was even preparing the online orders. So, we toughed it out and waited. While we were apologized to for the wait, I will not be returning to this location. Maybe it was a bad day. I don't know. I enjoy the layout and the table selections. Plenty of locals waited in line with us. I don't know if this is norm or we were the only peeved Sweetgreeners. Time is everything, though, especially for lunch. read more

And they seem to know how to communicate with Third party sites, have had no issues. My one and only complaint would be please add mediterranean olives to the menus. This is definitely one of the better sweetgreen places I've been to. Very efficient, even though the line was miles long. Nice fresh ingredients, good pre-mixed salads, better quantities than in the New York location. We were very happy to have a break from heavier foods while traveling, so even though the location was a bit of a hike for us and the lines were long, it worked. We thought about ordering online about 20 minutes before our arrival at 1145, but when we looked it said that the first pick up was at 1230. I waited and was through the line by 1215. Definitely plan in advance if you want to use the pick up option, or just wait in line if you weren't able to plan ahead. In a line of about 50 people, I made it through in 30 minutes. read more

Made-to-order and pricey salads with the option of frozen yogurt for dessert is what you'll find at Sweetgreen. After trying, three salads (a Santorini, the Derby Cobb, and a Guacamole Greens Salad), it's easy too say they are pretty good. With a convenient location to the Library of Congress, this is a good option for lunch if you can afford a couple $ more. The Guacamole Greens Salad with Shrimp was the best we tried. Like all the salads it has fresh lettuce, veggies, and ingredients customized for you. The Derby Cobb was a bit of a let down because the dressing didn't match the other flavors. I'd recommend mixing that up with something tastier. The Buckwheat Bread isn't really worth it and there was no butter available. We had to get a fro-yo to help break the summer heat. So, we did. As noted by Ann T. there was no Mochi, but we did get fresh strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries. I love blackberries with almost anything and the tart yogurt hit the spot. read more

Pretty standard Sweetgreen experience. The only problem is the price is what kills the experience. Everyone keeps pounding the idea that eating unhealthy food is going to eventually kill you. My response to that has always been, if "unhealthy food" doesn't kill you, then the high price of "healthy food" will. I like the food, but I like the money in my wallet even more. This place is awesome. I was looking for some healthy salad options, and this place has some great choices. You can pick from designed salad combinations or make your own. One of their spring offerings is the Umami Grain Bowl - couldn't pass it up. Great flavors with the roasted mushrooms, spicy sunflower seeds, miso sesame ginger dressing. I read an earlier review saying they charge for fountain drink refills. I'd like to clarify that the drinks mentioned are their housemade drinks that happen to be dispensed from a fountain machine (more like the ones you see dispensing lemonade and ice tea, not carbonated drinks). Completely makes sense that they would charge for another glass. I had the Hibiscus Lime Fresca. I was going to have a different drink, but because they clearly display the sugar content, I chose differently. Great place. Will definitely have it again. read more
