Recently tried the korean bites and sandwich. Was not a fan of either. They had a deal on buy one, get half off so that was an incentive the bites didn't have enough sauce on it. It's Shake Shack, it's fine. I was disappointed on my recent visit by some cost cutting like focusing on tablet orders and no more ketchup dispenser (just packets). My Chicken Shack sandwich was not as thick and juicy as it used to be -- a disappointment. My companion's bacon avocado burger (free from a promo) was good. Fries were fine but small. I'll stop by when they run a good promo for a free sandwich but otherwise it's not worth the price. read more

Was very excited at the prospect of a rootbeer float, but I guess they were out of root beer and that was not an option. So I got a side of custard to accompany my burger and fries (total price $23). My friend also ordered a burger and shake, and had to wait about 15 minutes because there was a large order placed between ours. Utensils are not out, so despite ordering custard, I was not given a spoon with my dine-in order. The ordering kiosks say to take a # and bring it to your table, but the placards were not available and also not needed because they were calling your names to pick up your own order (not brought to your table). One Star - Completely Unacceptable Experience (6/17/25) Tonight on June 17, 2025, at 9:07 PM, I visited Shake Shack at Gallery Place and placed a very specific order due to food allergies. I asked for a single ShackBurger with ShackSauce, pickles, and onions ONLY -- no lettuce, no tomato -- and fries with no salt. I also added a second patty. What I received was completely wrong: * Fries were loaded with salt * Burger had lettuce and tomato, ingredients I explicitly said to leave off due to food allergies And on top of that, the burger had a weird smell that made it completely unconsumable This wasn't just a wrong order -- it was unsafe and showed a complete disregard for food safety and allergy instructions. I've tried calling the store five times and no one is answering the phone. Totally unacceptable. I don't live near Shake Shack -- I made a 20-minute Metro trip just to get there. Now I'm out $17, left with food I can't eat, and extremely frustrated. The night manager seemed polite and may have believed her team was following instructions -- but it's clear no one was paying attention to the tickets or taking any of it seriously. Nasty location in terms of service and food. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and they were so backed up with orders that they had no business accepting new ones. There is NO PARKING in washington dc, so my sister had to keep driving the block because the food wasn't ready when they said it would be. The unprofessional kitchen cook pretended he didn't see me standing right in front of the counter waiting for my food, but when his friend came in, he gives him free company food. When I realized my food had been set on the counter with no one announcing my name, I popped off and the unprofessional cook tried to argue with me to the point that the manager had to intervene. The manager rudely threw 2 comp tickets to me and yelled "BYE!" as if all I wanted was free food and to cause a scene. What a joke for some overpriced and salty food. This is a good Shake Shack location. I've been dining at this location for years and I must say the customer service and food quality has improved over the years. The lobby and dining area are generally clean. The last few times I dined here the customer service and quality of food have been very good. I believe the quality of service here has improved due to the restaurant's proximity to the nearby hotel and sports arena which generates a lot of foot traffic. With many businesses, sheer volume and a demanding customer base forces business to improve their quality of service and business practice. I like to order on the mobile app for pick-up because the lines are normally long in the restaurant; especially before and after events at Capital One Arena. read more

Chicken bites were so salty, not even honey mustard could help you eat them. Not only they were salty, they were tiny bites. Some of them were about an inch long and 1/2 inch wide. Today I decided to try their chicken sandwich for the first time for a change. It was not a good idea after all. I ordered online an Avocado Bacon Chicken Burger and fries. The fries were fine but sliced avocado was missing in my Avocado Bacon Chicken. (As in my photo) But I was already away from the store so I had to walk all the way back there and told them at the Pick Up counter. A male staff listened to me and then had a staff scoop some avocado pieces and gave me in a burger box. (As in my photo) But unfortunately no apology.
