Very good food and drinking. I would definitely highly recommend this restaurant to anybody in town or any locals.

Honestly, when I first walked in a got an old cowboy dive bar feel to this place and would have never ordered food here if it wasn't for my friends who insisted on eating here. This place has a dining room in the back and a great menu that had more than just bar foods. I was in between the philly cheese steak, black bean burger, and the Rocky mountain oysters (JK) but it's cool they offer quite a variety! I got the black bean burger with a salad and really enjoyed it! The bun was soft and toasty and the burger tasted great! Salads here and fresh and I was very satisfied with my meal! This is the real deal cowboy. This place has atmosphere, character, and locals. This one of my favorite watering holes in the valley. Where else can you get an ice cold draw for a $1.50? The bar crowd also has an interesting collection of characters to chat with. As for the food. It is real down home cooking. I personally gravitate towards the loaded potato skins and Scottish eggs to start. The eggs are hard boiled wrapped in sausage, breaded and then deep fried. Awesome! As for the rest of the menu it goes from taco salad to meat loaf sandwich to every other comfort food you can think of. Give it a try it's worth the trip. read more

We've eaten at the Pour House for many years, a trip to Carbondale isn't complete without a dinner here. The staff is super friendly, and the menu is full of simple, hearty meals. You'll find the Pour House frequented by locals, primarily. If you are looking for the hippest, latest cuisine, you might want to go someplace else. A big steak, cooked perfectly, with seasoned fries and a draft beer? You'll be very happy. There are dead elk and deer on the wall and Patsy Cline and Ray Price on the jukebox. Driving from Redstone to Glenwood, we spontaneously stopped in to the Pour House for a snack, and stayed for a beer and burger. The interior will inspire conversation. The floor has seen some action. Stopped in with a buddy for a late lunch and a cold beer. Located in a great old Main Street building. Lots of historical pictures lining walls. I ordered a green Chile cheese burger and my buddy had the enchiladas, I have to say the charbroiled burger was cooked to perfection, local grass fed beef was incredible, probably the best burger I can ever remember having!! I don't understand the reviews of the Pour House. Poor me for going there. Maybe it's ok for a cheap beer but I don't recommend eating there. It's dingy, dark, the one waitress was scarce( but I think she had to put salads together), and the food was less than mediocre. Im giving it one star because Im not sure I can give none, or I would. This local institution's management needs a kick in the rear! We've noticed a lackluster approach to service way too many times in the last year. We do appreciate Donna's great energy, but she cannot do it all and it's clear the other staff is overloaded. Hey manager, don't just waltz through and pretend you're seeing everything being fine - you must pay more attention to how frazzled your staff is. GREAT food and exceptional service. Has always been a favorite of my husband and i's as well as company that comes to visit. Used to have the best breakfast (even better than the Smithy), but no longer serves breakfast. Staff has so much character which adds to the experience. Some friends told us this was good and they make everything from scratch so we went. Well, they do make everything from scratch and it is outstanding. We got quickly seated and our waitress was bubbly and helped us pick out our orders. She rocks and made sure the water and tea was full and plenty of beer for the spouse. I had thr 10 oz grass fed rib eye medium rare with baker potato and greens. He got a full rack BBQ ribs and same side. I got one of the best home made baked French onion soups....to die for...awesome and yummy...you must get this! His side salad was huge and had a nice assortment of lettuce and other vegies. My steak was perfectly cooked and I only could eat half of it. The waitress was busy with a lot of table but would stop and keep our drinks filled and check on the food. we took home doggie bags and also got the Key Lime Pie to eat...simply light and tasty and again home made. It's nice to see that everything is home made and care is taken to make sure the food is correct and the service is stellar. The ribs and sauce was excellent as well. The walls have all sort of unique items hanging from straight razors to western gear. Like a page out of the old west. Waitress was busy with lots of tables but spot on for service. She rocks. Food rocks but be sure to have huge appetite or take some home as the portions are large. Well made and a recommend. We will be going back. We had other friends show up after we got there and they had great food and service as well....so that night from 7-10, they had about 20 of our group and all were happy. read more

It was good, not to spicy, and had lots of pork in it. 1 had a grilled cheese and spinach soup, which she said was good. 1 had the special, which was a catfish po boy. It was very good. At this location offers are basic menu choices that you include such as BLT club sandwich hamburger and various bar pores. This is nothing to write home about you cannot pick up any basic sandwich from your local supermarket but this together not a good place to eat& not good place to eat... Sure, the food is 3 star (because it's nothing special and offers standard pub fare cooked decently) but, if you're ok with that, the ambiance and history of this bar and going with a group of friends makes this a fun pick! Located on Main Street in Carbondale, it is hit or miss if there's a full house or not. Although I've never seen it so packed that you can't find a table, so you're sure to get seated quickly! (Most likely, unless its First Friday it may be more packed). I ate here several weeks ago with my sister and six year old son. Service was terrible- the waitress literally tossed our food on the table, making no eye control and not communicating with us at all. Never asked to refill our drink. I ordered chicken fried steak that looked NOTHING like chicken fried steak.. it was disgusting. My soup came well afer I had started eating my main course. I was appalled at how crappy this place was. Food was terrible and overpriced but the service was what really got me, even weeks later. This place used to have decent food years ago, but it has definitely went downhill over the last few years. Recently went there with a group for lunch and everyone thought the food was terrible. Pretty lame spinach salad, awful sandwiches and the Huevos Ranchero was so bad that it gave me a stomach ache for days. They do have a good bar though if you are just drinking.
