In Northern Michigan for a week this summer, my husband and I made plans with two other couples on a Thursday evening. I suggested PK&B and they were all on board! I was hoping my third visit to Pour (and my husband's first visit) would be as amazing as my first two experiences... Sadly, it was not. It started out okay... I made a reservation on Open Table, we showed up on time, got seated, ordered drinks, etc... We had some drinks, ordered food, and then our server came back to let us know that they were completely out of sushi for the evening. Considering I spoke up the TIger Roll, and the rest of the menu is a bit limited, this definitely put a wrench in our evening. We made the best of it, had a variety of other food including poke nachos, oysters, salad, a burger, bulgogi, etc... but we couldn't get over the fact that they ran out of sushi. Oh well... Ambiance was still pleasant and the company was great. I would return but can't bring myself to keep that five star rating after that experience... Hopefully next time will bump it back up, whenever that may be! read more

Our server told us the burger was voted the best in town and it lived up to its reputation. It was delicious. What a great, upscale find in downtown Petoskey! I used street parking on the street (be SURE to pay the meter; even with :30 left) in front of Tap 30 on the left, Pour Kitchen on the right. There was only one other couple in the restaurant that evening, but the decor and ambiance told me I should definitely stay. I found oysters on the half shell and discounted wine for happy hour, so I knew I was at the right place. After that I got the Farm Board and Duck Wings. Everything was excellent and flavorful! I went to City Grille the next night only to kick myself for not going back to Pour Kitchen. Will definitely be frequenting each time I'm back in town. read more

Cool vibe, lounge background music, extensive wine list and interesting menu led us to try " Pour " in downtown Petoskey. They offered wine flights which gave us an opportunity to try several wines. The Champagne was delicious and the servers were helpful in making wine selections. They had a limited variety of Bourbon, but had a few nice options for Bourbon drinkers. Surprised they didn't have Makers 46 or Knob Creek, two standard top chef Bourbons. I so wanted to love this new hotspot offering small plates with an asian flair. The service was excellent and I wish I could bottle it for takeaway! We started with the vegetable dish Veloute which sounded like a hearty vegetable dish, instead we got a dish of over-pureed root vegetables with a tablespoon of minced salmon. This dish was lackluster at best. Our second choice was the seafood maki, which was good, not great. Each bite was not full with seafood and ingredients, and a few pieces had hollow spots. Our third dish was the tasty vegetarian fried rice which was spicy and delicious! There are small touches such as serving metallic or other environmentally-friendly high-end chopsticks along with chopsticks rests rather than wooden chopsticks from takeout restaurants that would have been nice. In short, Pour is a fun spot to gather for drinks and apps; however, they need to bump it up a notch to be in-line with their prices and other higher-end restaurants. We would definitely return to Pour as a starter spot for the outstanding service, wine selection and apps! read more

Gabi M gave it 5 stars so we decided to give Pour a try when visiting Northern Michigan next week. This is definitely a bit trendier than most of the other restaurants in the area, but a nice addition. Our party of 4 tried a charcuterie board, tiger sushi roll and poke nachos. All were great and my husband was a fan of his burger as well. My brother got the filet, which he seemed to enjoy as well. It was a vodka martini type of night after a long day with the kiddos and it was made to perfection. I prefer to eat outdoor when summering in Northern Michigan, but it happened to be a rainy, chilly August day so we enjoyed the indoor atmosphere. Evidently northern Michigan experiences "angry August" but the staff at Pour missed the memo. Specifically the adorable McKayla and charming Aaron made our family feel welcome in Petosky for the first time in 3 days! As for the food, the Farm Board was full of delights including Michigan Cherry bread, figs, apple butter and all the fancy cheese and meats you would expect. Definitely get one for the table. The shining star was the vegetarian Fried Rice. It was raining in Petosky the night we dined and this dish was pouring with flavor! Hands down one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever had. The atmosphere was clean, hip, and had low key chill music including Hall & Oates; essential in my opinion, Sara Smile to be specific, the pinnacle of their collection. Happened to walk by when just exploring the area while walking our dogs. We meant to go into Tap 30 next door so hubby could grab a beer , but I spotted the interesting menu here. Really great options that are sure to please! They were ok with the Yorkies hanging out under my chair on the patio and we super appreciated that. They also ownTap 30 so hubby still had some nice beer options while I had choices other than bar food. Tiger roll and Farm Board were enjoyable but a bit overpriced. Food was good although the avocado was super soft and a bit old. Service a little slow picking up the check at the end, but they got several folks in at once so it happens. Some of the best potatoes ever might be a little bit smoky for some but I thought that they were absolutely delicious.for dessert we got chocolate torte which was good. I found the chocolate to be a little bit too tart for but the ice cream with it was delicious. Service was good. Provided good recommendations. And nice and patient. Ambiance was nice. What? Only a 4 star?? Obviously not real reviews. Ok. We had Shaky Beef, sweet potatoe (haha Dan Quale) salad, Impossible Burger and "the dude formally known as Donald" Duck. We rank them beef, burger, salad and duck. The duck was perfect and on its own a clear awesome prep. However somehow the others just ranked better. Seriously. The salad was an Asian inspired caramelized sweet potatoe with greens. Yum. The vegan specked impossible burger rocked with flavor on a perfectly grilled bun. The shaky beef exploded on our tongue. We asked if we could get a second for dessert. We could not be more happy. Taking some signature fried rice home for mom and dad. There was a server who came and took the order of the other table up there and their dinner was brought to their table even before any server came to me. I even asked the person delivering the food if I order using the QR code - he said no someone will come. After realizing we sat there for 25 minutes we left. I informed the hostess. We had a great experience of Pour! It started with the host who was friendly and took quickly cleared a table for us. Our waiter was also friendly and added insights to the menu. The food was amazing! And let's not forget the great wine. What an extensive and beautiful bar! The atmosphere was full of energy - people having fun, celebrating and catching up with each other. Loved our dining experience at POUR! We sat at the bar and ordered a charcuterie board, burrata (with Calabrian chili sauce, fried green tomatoes, and basil), and the hamburger. The bartender highly recommended the burger and it did not disappoint, extremely well done! The charcuterie board was also spot on; each piece of meat, cheese, pickled cauliflower, rhubarb jam, cherry bread, brittled nuts were incredible alone and even better mixed together. I've never had burrata with a Calabrian jam like that - it was spicy but stellar! The bartender also knew how to make great old fashioneds so we were very happy. The ambiance was fun and the price was incredibly reasonable for the excellent quality meal and service we received. Will come back next time we are in Petoskey! read more

I was mildly impressed when I first went to this restaurant. The cocktails are great. I use to run craft cocktail bars and premier restaurants so I appreciate that they do not muddle their old fashions and their attention to detail with their beverage. HOWEVER, their food is something that really needs work. As a whole the menu is in a bit of an identity crisis. The have sushi, burgers and oysters? There is fried rice? I am not sure what they are trying to achieve. We had the Sushi, poke nachos, Big Mick Burger and fried rice. Sushi is good for the area but the menu is limited and very Salmon heavy (I can't eat salmon) The Poke nachos are good but the seaweed salad on it is a little overpowering and makes the whole thing just slimy about half way through. The Big Mick burger is a glorified Big Mack nothing impressive and honestly a waste of Wagyu. Maybe consider a Wagyu Carpaccio instead? Better use of such an expensive meat The Fried Rice is in an identity crisis of its own caliber. It had sweet mint and cilantro on it. There were hunks of ginger and onion in it. The spices were such an odd combination. It was not Thai or Chinese or curry. I am not sure who thought this was a good idea but this was just shameful. If you go stick to the drinks. Exceeded every expectation I could've possibly had! In a time where not only is every place short staffed, but also in a town where things close early, Pour Kitchen & Bar really hooked it up. First, we were told that a table of 5 wasn't going to happen, so I ordered a drink so I could use the bathroom and I turn around, we've been sat! The kitchen was very much slammed when we came in as it was a Friday night and they had only 3 cooks, but our server Mitch was a gem, was very cool about being engaging but patient with my party and I after we came back from the casino. The food came out in record time with the info we had before hand, the wings were DOPE and really glad we ordered these. Three of my party including myself got the impossible burger with tater tots and it was perfection. The cook on the burger was amazing, and it was one of our friends first time eating a vegan burger and LOVED IT! Seasoned so well, great toppings and paired perfectly with the TOTS.
