I DID NOT feel warm and cozy like the other reviewers. I was greeted fair. However, once Kristina M. Orazi began to discuss my insurance coverages and allowances, I noticed she was nice/nasty. She kept telling me that I was NOT covered for stuff that I was covered 100% for. Luckily, I did my research and found out all for what I was covered before visiting the store. I can't put into words the whole nice/nasty behavior I endured, but it wasn't pleasant. I wanted to just leave and cancel my entire order...but the other VSP location was closed for the Holdiays. I was dissatisfied and deflated. I'm glad the other reviewers had a great time finding glasses. But I DID NOT!!! Anyhow, Despite the rude, nice/nasty behavior I still purchased these cute "Prada" glasses. And I figured as long as I'm covered under a warranty that I should be okay. I'm deflated but okay. I gave 2 stars b/c...I was the only customer in the store, so I was able to take my time and they also have a huge variety of glasses to choose from. read more

Poway Eyeworks has been my go-to for my optometry needs, until a recent surge of issues. First, make sure what your co-pay will be with your insurance before they ask for payment. I was told to pay $40 when my copay was $20, and when I confronted them about it, they just said oops and made the change. If I didn't say anything I would have been over charged. That wasn't my main gripe - mistakes can happen. What broke the camel's back for me was when I purchased Rayban sunglasses from them. If I'm paying $250 (after insurance) for a nice sunglasses, I would NOT want to be paying for a display model WITH scratch marks. I wasn't even told that I would be sold that pair. When I went back to Poway Eyeworks, I was told that they couldn't do anything for me unless I paid extra $100 or so. Well, I wish the business its best, but I will not be coming back. read more

I went this place every year, updated my eye glasses. My eyes felt worst each year. This year when I try to make an appointment the person sounded frustrated my questions. I went Scripps poway instead because of this behavior. Thanks to her I made best decision ever. I found out what was wrong. It is unbelievable but they made me use distance glasses for reading glass so I was constantly exhausting my eyes. The reason I did not noticed that because my vision very well, just my eyes gets tired when I used them to much with reading and computer screen. So they never gave me reading glass but they told me use this glass only when you read. Ridiculous! They owe me new pair of eyes. read more

Love this place! We got our eye exams done elsewhere, so I can't comment on that part. However, everything we did here was handled so well, that I am now in love with this place! We started by ordering a pair of glasses for our son - this place was $40 cheaper than another local shop for the exact same frame! While the price got them our business to begin with, their service, attention to detail, helpfulness, patience, and above all, a caring and respectful attitude is what kept us going back to them for additional bits. After we received our son's glasses, we went back for new lenses for myself and my wife and found that our vision insurance was not going to authorize payment since we had partially used the allowance elsewhere. We were pleasantly surprised when Michael offered to call our insurance, and waited patiently while I reasoned with the insurance folks (first with the customer service rep, and then with a supervisor). Every time we went there, we were always greeted immediately, offered all the help we needed while giving us the space and time needed to make our selections, and were always treated with respect. So, I would say that this is the only optician where we (and all our friends) will go going forward! read more

I Will keep this short. Gloria seems to be nice. I was overcharged $75.00 even with my insurance. My insurance confirmed this overcharged and was told by this company for me to bring in my cc and they will refund me $75.00. I called them on the phone to ask if they would process my refund over the phone to be told I need to wait for the other glasses to come in before they can refund me In case there are any charges for me returning new glasses I picked up 5 days earlier due to not fitting correctly (I was exchanging frames). That is when I wanted a complete refund. Then I was refunded all but 10.00 which I had to call back for that to be refunded. I would not recommend this place to family or friends. read more

I took my son there to get his prescription. We used a Yelp coupon. There were 3 employees behind the counter and one other customer. It took them 20 minutes to just acknowledge us. We waited an hour to actually see the optician. She was nice, but didn't write down his vision like she said she would (whether he was 20/20 with glasses and 20/?? without). I still don't have that information. One last thing I should mention is that when it came time to filling the prescription, I went to EyeBuyDirect.com and realized the prescription wasn't filled out completely. I had to call the office 3 separate times to get the correct prescription. read more

I found this office because of the Yelp reviews (and because they accept my insurance). I received the best service from Karla and she helped me with my questions and was very pleasant to work with. The office was quite large and very clean! Everyone really helped me in trying to find a certain pair of glasses I had really wanted and when I decided to leave without purchasing, there was no hassling at all which I really appreciated. Every time I email the office, Karla is answering all of my questions promptly and making everything very easy for me. My Dr. was Dr.Nguyen and she was really sweet as well. read more

The Dr. is great! She really knows her stuff and is very kind and patient. The staff is also very kind and helpful but a little scattered. I felt they were all over the place. My advise is to learn how to provide clear cut information about the service and what the client should expect. Stay focused. Eyes require a technical process and relaying information and being organized is key to showing professionalism and knowledge. I was sort of thrown around from chair to chair without knowing what is happening. I didn't get a clear understanding until I asked lots of questions repetitively. Came into the store to get a screw put in my glasses and to look at new lenses. Very nice people that helped you through every step of the glasses buying process to make sure they are right for you. Glasses frames are somewhat expensive here since they are mostly all high end. But had to write a review since the sales associate (I forgot her name) was very friendly and wanted to make sure everything was the right fit. We pay cash and use insurance for contacts so when my son wanted contacts we checked them out. Our local place was charging $280 I pause $125 here. I arrived for my appointment a little early and they took me right in...great. However, during the exam before I see the doctor, I'm asked if I'm getting contacts and I told her yes. She looked at my paperwork and quickly said my insurance will not cover the required "contact fitting" and that would be $100. I told her I've never paid for that because my insurance covers contact exams. She said she would ask the doctor and quickly came back and said that it was required and not covered by my insurance. I thanked her, put my contacts back in and left. I then called the doctor I saw last year and lo and behold, the contact fitting is covered by my insurance. I made an appointment with that doctor for next week. So, I believe this is called "up selling." So sad, they are in my neighborhood. I will say that the young lady that helped me was very sweet and helpful...she was merely the messenger. My advice is to be cautious when going to this place. read more

This business is fantastic. I am completely inept at selecting new glasses. Marcia took me by the hand around the store to select just the right frames for a very strong prescription. She clearly knew exactly what he was doing and really cared about finding me the right glasses. It was a wonderful experience for something I normally dread. When I expressed an interest in contacts, I just had a short wait to meet with Dr. King who was also a delight. She nailed down my prescription and got me started trying some daily wear lenses. She explained exactly what was available to me and is going to help me try out this kind of correction. Poway Eyeworks is a great place to have your vision tended. I haven't seen the doctor, but I did buy my frames here. I love my Optometrist but I can never find frames that I like in his office. They have a large quantity of frames but they're basically all the same and not stylish enough for my taste. I noticed Poway Eyeworks on the way out of target and decided to stop by and check it out. Great selection of designer frames!! I saw so many pairs I wanted to try on. The man that was helping me was very friendly and very helpful, opening case after case and then opening them several more times as I narrowed down my selections. He was able to answer all my questions about the frames and options for my lenses. Many of the frames I tried on came in different colors that weren't displayed and he let me know about those options as well. I'm very satisfied with my glasses, they're my favorite pair to date! read more

i am assisted by Marcia, she must be new, i assume. she huffs & puffs when i ask a question regarding my copay. shes flustered while she's checking me out. i find her unprofessional and generally unpleasant. Gloria aides her thru the process and was accommodating that particular day. marcia is acting so overwhelmed that i myself ask if she needs anything else and i leave. 20 days pass, yes TWENTY. i use my work break to call. my glasses are ready, in fact they were ready 8 days prior. Gloria tells me they tried to call. the email/phone was changed years ago. (in fact both my daughter and i have had appts there since) rightfully frustrated i mention i have updated my info w/ them many times on their forms. im told defensively they DO NOT HAVE FORMS in store, info is updated online. she proceeds to be argumentative, no apology if offered for their lack of customer service, my wait time and the inconvenience of my having to follow up. i don't argue, i need to get back to work. i guess the online booking form is called something else and not a form. yikes. it asks for a name, an email and a phone number. not sure why i have to go through the process of filling out this information if their office isn't going to utilize it. i check my email, i have copies (the customer gets a screenshot after booking- one of which is in the body of an email from her) a simple follow up email - hi there we couldn't reach you via phone your glasses are ready- would have been basic customer service. Confirming contact details is pretty standard. Contacting a customer with the information you DO have is standard. what is unacceptable is arguing with a customer (and i quote) "well ur voicemail was full, well we don't have that, you updated it? well i don't know how! we don't have forms, why yes we do have your correct email but it was listed under secondary (even though shes sent me several emails) .... such a shame that this experience is representative of the business. the optometrists are knowledgeable and professional but insurance covers so many places, i will spare myself the inconvenience next time and go elsewhere. i do want to note that when i went to pick up my glasses today the ladies were night and day. I was greeted by Kenzie. She was attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional. i mention my frustration and that i had some questions that weren't explained originally. she was empathetic and kindly offered an apology. (the first i received) i was next assisted by Kendra- she was very knowledgeable and professional. she went over my breakdown and explained all the information that i would have expected to have originally received at check out. she was understanding, courteous and patient (even though she was doing what should have been completed by the orig rep) i understand opinions and experiences vary. this was mine. i would much rather be assisted by Kenzie who was sweet and professional than someone whos been there longer but is burnt out and indifferent. i would have thought Kendra was the manager with her knowledge and professionalism. such a contrast. the service was today was in line w/ that of which i have received from the optometrists here. because of them my review went from the mandatory 1 star to 2. had i dealt w/ them only perhaps it would have been simply a stellar review. read more
