This is my 3rd Vehicle from this Dealer and I guess my last one, customer service is horrible, go somewhere else!, sales person Cindy Cruz has not idea of how to deliver a good customer service, it took her 10 hrs to close our deal, and good luck if you want to talk to the General Manager Jackie Mafi, I emailed her and she never got back to me, that tells you everything. they basically don't care about the customer starting at the top! We came to Honda Poway looking for the 2018 Accord. Our sales person was Raj Shetty. This review is specially for him. He is a great sales person, had all the information we needed and guided us through the vehicle without ever being pushy. He offered us the best price but unfortunately Honda poway did not have the color we were looking for. We let him know that we were looking into the color we wanted at another place. Even after he knew we were not going to do business with him he still helped us after that answering any queries we had and giving us any advice that we needed. Chuck in the service department is amazing. I've had many issues with my new Honda and I just text him and he gets the appointment all set up for me, hassle-free. He even stayed late and made sure I got a ride back to pick up my car when it was taking longer than expected to finish on a Saturday. The loss of a star is due to them not offering loaner vehicles. They do have a shuttle, but you may have to wait for it for up to an hour and a half if you don't time your appointment just right. read more

I haaaate coming here to get my car serviced. Last time I was here I needed to get my battery replaced but it took 2 hours when they said it would take 15 minutes. Here I am, waiting for my service when my appointment was at 7:40 but they're gonna take the 2 people behind me first, which one doesn't have an appointment until 12:40 and the 2 others in the non appointment line before me... everyone is afraid to ask if you've been helped already so you just wait around until maybe someone looks at you to ask you "hey has someone helped you yet?" It looks like depending on the service this dealership can be a hit or miss, but when I purchased my pre-owned 2014 Honda Civic with the help of Brian I couldn't have been happier. Brian helped the process go by as smoothly as it could and the manager even helped me get a better deal. Out of all of the Honda dealerships around the San Diego area this place had the best prices for Honda pre-owned certified vehicles. Since I wasn't planning of purchasing a car that day I didn't have my auto loan or insurance set up, but he was patient and let me complete what I needed to even at the end of the day. I will say that they were very pushy with their extended warranty, but to be fair it's a salesman's bread and butter. When I passed by the service waiting area it looked very busy but there were snacks in the area. My recommendation is to not go during peak hours because it could be a lot by wait. I bought a new HR-V back in August of last year. When it arrived, Raj and I made an agreement and I was Sent over to Jordan, the sales manager, to add accessories. I added the roof rails and cross bars to the order and then went to fill out final paperwork. I stressed to both Raj and Jordan how important this was because I was selling my Ford Escape and I have 2 kayaks I need to tow with this car. 3 weeks after I've been driving the car, Jordan called me to let me know the roof rails and cross bars weren't available for this model and that there was nothing they could do aside from giving me a refund for the rails and crossbars. If I had known that in the beginning, I would have never bought this model, I would have bought the ex-L. Their lack of knowledge on the vehicle and lack of a solution to the problem has caused me much stress and I now have to sell my kayaks. I have purchased and after market roof rack but because the model is so new, it did not fit and none of the aftermarket manufacturers offer one for this model yet. read more

We had a great buying experience at Poway Honda and the main reason is Mickey Perez. We went in several months ago when my college-aged daughter was back in town looking for a good used car after the old family van that she had been driving died. Mickey stayed late that day to show us a few cars that they had. Although we did not find what she was looking for on that first trip, Mickey kept his eyes open, stayed in touch over the last couple of months, and let us know when he had something come in that he thought that she would like. He let us know last week that a car perfect for her had come in and coincidentally my daughter was going to be back in town that weekend. She initially doubted whether the VW Beetle would be right for her but after seeing and driving it she admitted that Mickey was right. We got a 2010 Certified Pre-Owned for $1,500 under the Private party value. With a full tank of gas and only 4,000 miles. We looked at Pacific Honda, they have a 2009 with 30,000 miles and they want $4,000 MORE than Poway Honda did for our car. First off, (Talk to Tony) we went there and were prepared to be hassled, haggled, and walk to the next dealer. HOWEVER, we were very pleased with the whole experience(With Tony). To sum it up, NO B.S. at Poway Honda(With Tony). They didn't try to tack on 13 fees with fees for the fees, etc... It was straight up, here is the price, and $55 documentation fee AND THATS IT!!! And we were outta there in about 2 hours. AMAZING DEAL, AMAZING CAR, AWESOME SALESMAN. Tony was great. If you want to walk out of there a happy person and know that you didn't get screwed, but you got more than a fair deal. Talk to Tony. TALK TO TONY. He's the tallest dude in there, but definately the most straight up guy in there. Great place to look for a new vehicle. Wonderful area and my two sales personnel Audrey and Stephanie are some of the best I've seen in the business. Be weary though if you are planning on trading a car especially if its not in pristine condition there is a used car sales manager who has it out for the world. To quote one of the workers, "he's like a doctor who's been a doctor for to long". And yes he has... so I have to give the facility a four star rating just because the attitude for customer excellence from him is worth one star. Steph and Audrey are both four star workers here and were able to locate my car out of only two in the entire united states and had it shipped at no cost... Wow! Love those girls. Tiffany took over since my partner and I were late and she was awesome! She was very knowledgeable on Hondas and easy to talk with. I really appreciated that she wasn't trying to shove the car down my throat like other dealerships do. After test driving and chatting a bit Gary came in and talked numbers. Have been a loyal Poway Honda customer since 2011. I've always been a fan of Honda's and Toyota's, since they have a good reputation of quality and are dependable. I ended up getting a pre-owned Honda CRV and a Honda Fit from Gary Lobel, both cars have been very dependable and I plan to purchase a newer Honda CRV in the future from Poway Honda. I wish I could give ZERO stars directly to the PARTS and SERVICE department. I bought a brand new Honda Civic and wanted to get the wireless cellphone charger installed. I was overcharged for both the parts and the labor. Also, if you go into the local store they stated they mark up all parts 30% this came straight from Chris's mouth!!! Poor service!! Do not go for service here even if you make an appointment, you will spend your whole day waiting. They will tell you 45mins to an hour and you will be there 2hours plus. This has happen to me twice! I will not ever go back to this location again, not to mention they are rude!!! I don't understand why they over booked themselves and then state there understaff. Well, you should only use that excuse once not every time I come in...Mind you this was just for an OIL CHANGE! I'd rather go to Jiffy Lube, at least I won't be waiting my whole day for something so simple. Today I sat in my car for 20mins waiting for someone to approach me and I had an appointment, it never happened. I walked inside and the man at the counter told me (with attitude) "We will get to you when we're done". I sat in my car another 10mins and NO ONE! I backed my car out of there so fast!! 3 times a charm I guess...I won't be back! Never!!! Someone need to really get this place in order because it's ridiculous!!!! read more

Back in July, I got a rockin' deal on a used Honda CR-V with low mileage and had a great buying experience! Love the car and have had no problems with it so far. Since Poway is two hours away from me, they made sure to set me up with my local Honda dealer for future service visits. When we saw this car pop up online, we were sure that it was going to be gone before we had a chance to see it since it was such a clean car with such low mileage and price. We talked to Brian Mallow in the late morning hours and he made sure that no other customers drove off with it while we were on our way down. He had already had someone test drive it that day, but they opted for a new CR-V instead - lucky me! By the time we got there it was already early evening, but the car was indeed waiting for us when we arrived. I am very skeptical of used cars and anyone selling them (even if they are from a Honda dealer) and even though I was excited about the car I was honestly pretty standoff-ish up until the point when I signed. Brain didn't seem to be phased by it though - he never lost his positive, service-oriented attitude towards me and he was very friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. I brought the car in to have the airbag replaced due to a recall. When I arrive they tell me they don't have the part and that they would need to order it. They should have told me before I brought the car in. Then when I pick up the car it seems unclear from the receipt that they actually changed the faulty airbag. The day after I picked up the car they call me to say that the part just arrived. I have doubt that they actually changed the airbag and they should have first received the part before they scheduled the appt. Also the mileage they wrote was off by 2000 miles. read more

I write very few Yelp reviews, but had to write one because of the exemplary service I received. I purchased a new 2016 Accord on Sunday. Upon arrival Gary Lobel met me out front at my appointed time (prompt!). He was knowledgeable, personable and relatable (very different from my horrible experience at Mossy Toyota a few years ago). This was my first time buying through the Costco Auto Program, and I will highly recommend it to everyone I know. And if they want a Honda, then I will refer them to Gary at Poway Honda. Additionally, kudos to Lisa S. The Finance Manager. I found her to be very helpful, non judgemental, and worked very well as a team with Gary. I expected the stereo-typical high-pressure sales effort and was pleasantly surprised Gary and Lisa's focus was on what I wanted to buy. To sum up my experience, I came prepared, having done lots of research. I have not had my cars serviced here, but I did try to buy a 2016 Honda Odyssey EX-L with navigation. The trade in value offered was fair, the price to purchase was not. I left the dealer feeling they were simply too firm on price so I searched for the van I wanted on-line and the next day I purchased the van I wanted from DCH Honda in Temecula for $2,500 less. Each dealer has the right to charge whatever they want, I get that, but each consumer now has the ability to search on-line to find not necessarily the absolutely best deal, but certainly a good deal. DCH in Temecula quoted us a discount of exactly $5,522 off sticker on a 2016 Odyssey EX-L with navigation and honored that price plus some when we purchased one model up the line - an Odyssey Touring. So now we are a loyal customer of DCH as they provided a timely and cost effective buying experience. Poway Honda was generally respectful, but there were a few things beside price which bothered me: (1) I told the salesman I spoke to over the phone that I would be there at 2:30 - he promised to meet me at that time, but was not there when I arrived and never met me during my visit. This wasted time and there was no apology or follow up on his part. (2) the van I was told they had in stock, they did not have in stock - this seems to be a common thread at dealers as I guess they want you to show up as opposed to calling the next dealer. Summary - service was average, price was average and true to the two-star rating - "I have experienced better" read more

PURCHASING: When I moved to San Diego in June 2012 I researched Honda dealership reviews and most were not good. Poway Honda had the best reviews (best customer service). I visited a couple of the not well reviewed dealerships closer to me and did not have a good experience. I decided to try Poway Honda even though its further from La Mesa than I wanted to go but my experience made up for the extra distance! Lucky for me they had the model I wanted in stock. The purchase experience was completely painless. My experience leads me to believe Poway Honda's positive reviews are well deserved. SERVICE: I've visited the service department three times (1, oil change/etc.; 2) battery replacement; and 3) software update). ALL covered by Honda's warranty. And each visit was a pleasant experience - and I was out the door and on my way in under an hour. My last visit was 1/6/15 and Michael Deason of the Service Department met me as I pulled up and was ready to have the team do the software update. He and the entire team are pros! Avoid to go here... One of the worst place to visit. First of all, I asked to see Accord 2016. But the sales person in there is not interested in showing 2016 and try to sell 2015 model. As I already had 2015 Accord (Bought it in 2014 OCT and sold it), He is trying to sell it same price as I bought on 2014. I told him, I bought this same rate last year, and he asks me how much you want it for. I told my rate, and he smiles at me. Forgot to mention this. I asked about when 2016 Civic will be available. Well I wanted to trade in my car and they gave me a ridiculous offer and told me to come back the next morning and maybe I would get a better price for my trade in. I agreed than thought about it. Instead I went to another dealership and traded my car in the next morning their. Cut the bs and just get it over with. You should learn a lesson from low balling people for their trade ins. In this day of time, the car salesman tactics don't work anymore, people just move on.
