Came here on a Friday afternoon. I needed a quick smog which is exactly what I got. I came here in the past and they were fantastic so figured I'd give it another shot. As I arrived, hadn't even pulled the keys out of my ignition, a very nice gentlemen approaches my car and begins taking my vehicles info. He tells me it will be about 10-15 mins. I got inside, checked in and had a seat. There were two other people in the waiting room. I sit for less than 3 mins and the very nice gal at the front counter tells me my car is ready. Best smog experience I have ever had! Drove up with one person ahead of us. The mechanic took us inside to fill out the paperwork which only took a few minutes. So after we finished that we decided to go for a small walk to play PokemonGo and catch some Pokemon lol, we all know how long Smogs usually take and as we were walking out the door the mechanic was parking my car. Still, in and out in under fifteen minutes. Interesting tidbit: I have a short ram intake missing its CARB-exemption sticker. Unbelievable!!! Management provided the regular discount for me, upon verbal request, because I have no cell phone or printer. I took a book along to enjoy the wait.....and didn't even have the opportunity to read a SINGLE page! These guys are the best at what they do. I want to preface that I take my 8-year old car to the dealership for maintenance and wear/tear repairs because I like all work done to it on file. I recently had some work done to my car at said dealership. Shortly after, I took it for a smog test at this location. My car apparently hadn't completed its own self diagnostics check at the time as I don't drive much, so they weren't able to complete the smog test. The tall gentleman with a beard (shame on me for not getting his name) was very friendly and professional in explaining to me the reason for the car not being ready for testing. He also gave me a couple of recommendations to ensure my car does its checks per design. I left the testing station. I checked with the service department at the dealership, and they corroborated his recommendations. I returned to Poway Smog Station after a couple of hundred miles and a few days later. My car passed its smog test. They have a consistent stream of customers, but there's very little wait. Even with my car's complications and three people ahead of me, I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. They are very efficient from getting you into their computer system, testing your vehicle and transmitting to the DMV system. Last but not least, they are super friendly and easy to work with. The lady at the counter was also helpful and nice. They seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and helping people in general. I cannot say enough good things about them. I have used this business several times with our Motorhome and family's cars. They are very friendly and accommodating. The smog checks are fast these days and they do everything they can to get you in and out. One of the extra benefits of using this business is they can actually register your vehicle right then. Our registration payment for our motorhome went into the DMV black hole so we had to go to the DMV to pay. Then they said we needed to smog it and come back. At this Smog Station there is a fee of $34.00 , but you get your tags and registration card right then without having to go and wait in line forever at the crowded DMV. To us, that is priceless! read more
