Cotton Candy Icecream on a Sugar Cone
    Jin S.

It was my first time trying Powder Mill Creamery and the homemade ice-cream was what attracted me to this location. The shop is adjacent to a beautiful water view, perfect for a summer night with your family. Cars fly by their road though, with no protective barriers from the street & creamery, so just be careful if bringing any children and make sure they are always in sight. Outdoor seating is also limited to about 3 small tables. I got the homemade cotton candy hard ice cream on a sugar cone. The ice-cream had a good flavor but was watery for hard ice-cream and melted very fast. The paper on my cone also stuck right onto the sugar cone so I would suggest getting a cup or waffle cone instead.

Powder mills serves homemade ice cream off Putnam pike. The shop is on a busy road with high traffic and a tough parking lot. A crowd makes their way to this popular ice cream spot on warm summer nights and has a good variety of their own hard ice cream with several toppings. The ice cream was ok, nothing to go wait in line for. I had a cake batter cone with sprinkles and my girlfriend had a cotton candy cone which the paper was so stuck to the cone and couldn't even eat it after the ice cream. The ice cream wasn't very creamy for a homemade ice cream and was actually a little watery and melted very fast on a cool night but flavor was good.

This very well may be our favorite ice cream shop in rhode island. There is a great selection at great prices. Its right on the water so its not bad to stay in the parking lot and look out. If you live in the northern western part of rhode island i definitely recommend

They don't make their own cones....The yogurt wasn't creamy at all-she had to put it in a cup because she said the two flavors "wouldn't stick together"- first time hearing that. mocha Chip was ok, threw the banana chip out...Many better options out there....

White chocolate caramel pistachio. Small on a sugar cone.

First time here because there's space to sit out here and they are open late on Sundays. Lines are long but move fairly fast. The view is nice. The ice cream is good. You get plenty for your money. They take credit cards. The girl who waited on me was pleasant and friendly. Also glad I didn't have to meet the owner. Based on other reviews, I wouldn't come back if I did.

Easily the best ice cream around. Lots of options and a great staff. Only complaint is that I wish they were open year round!

However, the customer service during our most recent visit, which was our first visit of the season, was surprisingly rude, which leaves me wondering if something at Sundaes has changed, hence the two star review. We brought a group of 12 here on Friday night, 5/15/26 at about 7:15 and the employee who took our orders was polite and wrote everything down. We paid for our order all together. It wasn;t very busy when we arrived, but it took quite a while, nearly 10 minutes, for us to receive the first of the 12 ice creams, and then the rest of the order came out little by little. By the time we left, there was a line of about a dozen people. When my ice cream was ready, it didn't have the sprinkles I had ordered. I asked if sprinkles could be put on, and rather than simply adding sprinkles, the employee (manager?), went and checked the paper order, stated that sprinkles weren't written down and that she would have to charge me for the sprinkles. I asked about it again, citing our order was large ($88), and couldn't they just put the sprinkles on that they forgot to include. She replied repeatedly stating that doing that would be against company policy. Hmmmm....... Really? If that's the case, Sundae's policy is pretty poor. This exchange of words left me with a very bad feeling, but as I was with a large group including several kids, I didn't press it any further. Why in the world would a company refuse something that costs pennies to the business, instead making the customer go through the trouble of cashing out again, especially when it was the business' mistake? More ice creams from our order continued to come out at a very slow pace. One ice cream was made with the wrong flavors, and one was forgotten and by the time we received it, most of the other people in our party had already finished eating. At some point as we waited for our ice creams the "manager" called out to me to ask if I wanted rainbow or chocolate sprinkles (I guess the company policy had changed?), but at that point it was too late, she had already set the tone. While the ice cream at Sundaes is fine, I would strongly suggest that the owner of this business provide training to their staff on customer service, and how refusing to honor a request for forgotten sprinkles without incurring a new charge can lose a customer (or in our case a large group of customers) for a long time. Also, the wait time needs to be speeded up. Maybe more staff is needed? With so many other ice cream places within a short drive of Sundae's. I doubt that we'll be back given our most recent experience here. Moose Trackers in Scituate, Gigi's Scoops in Smithfield, or The Parlor Creamery in Cranston are all great places and will get our business the next time our group goes out for ice cream.

Hell, even I want to take pictures of the place. The pizza shows promise at first glance. Those pepperoni cups curl up just right, crispy and inviting. But that's where the romance ends. The crust is just... there. The sauce might as well be a rumor. And the cheese? It does its job with all the enthusiasm of a Monday morning DMV worker. Look, it's not bad pizza. When you're hungry, it'll do the job. But it's the kind of slice that makes you understand why New Yorkers get so defensive about their pies. It's food designed by focus groups, served in a room that looks like it was decorated by an algorithm. The ice cream side of the operation might be their saving grace - those scoops look like they could offer some real comfort on a hot day. Maybe we'll give that a shot when summer rolls around. For now, it's exactly what it looks like: a perfectly fine, totally forgettable slice shop that's as middle-of-the-road as a highway divider. Think Papa Gino's on a "C+" day.
