There's something telling about places like Slice and Scoop. Modern, clean lines, industrial lighting, sports on flat-screens - they've nailed the look that makes marketing teams happy and Instagram influencers reach for their phones. Hell, even I want to take pictures of the place. The pizza shows promise at first glance. Those pepperoni cups curl up just right, crispy and inviting. But that's where the romance ends. The crust is just... there. The sauce might as well be a rumor. And the cheese? It does its job with all the enthusiasm of a Monday morning DMV worker. Look, it's not bad pizza. When you're hungry, it'll do the job. But it's the kind of slice that makes you understand why New Yorkers get so defensive about their pies. It's food designed by focus groups, served in a room that looks like it was decorated by an algorithm. The ice cream side of the operation might be their saving grace - those scoops look like they could offer some real comfort on a hot day. Maybe we'll give that a shot when summer rolls around. For now, it's exactly what it looks like: a perfectly fine, totally forgettable slice shop that's as middle-of-the-road as a highway divider. Think Papa Gino's on a "C+" day.

Easy meal with dinner and dessert in one spot! We stopped in with a variety of food cravings - one kid wanted salad, another wanted wings and we wanted a slice of pizza. We had all of the above with a little rooms left for Sundays for dessert. Yes, we were rolling out, good thing the doors were large. We had the specialty slice and scoop pizza mixed with chicken bacon ranch and a Caprese pizza mixed with the blanco pizza. We liked the caprice pizza best. The scoops was spicy, so it may be a little tough for kids depending on their palate. Wings were breaded pretty heavily. Salad was our favorite- so good- everyone wanted more. We had the Greek salad. Sundays and ice cream scoops it were delicious. I don't think we would eat as much next time, but we were so excited about trying a new place that we had to taste it all! I'd probably stop in for a healthy salad, slice of pepperoni pizza and sweat treat to balance it out. Pizza if offered thing crust and thicker.

Massive, but mediocre slices of pizza. Maybe if I had gotten a whole/fresh pizza, it would've been better but the quality for these wasn't there. Friendly people, and the inside is nice. Might give them another shot with a whole/fresh pizza but won't be in a rush to do so

Stop #8 on RI FOOD FIGHTS 11th Annual Lord of the Pies!!! Right on Douglas Pike on the way to Bryant University...I got a slice of Caprese, recommended by Katelyn...great choice! And right next door they have ice cream Scoops to finish it off with!

Came by here with my son Friday night, as they are participating in the Lord of the pies, but in all fairness, I have been here before, although I don't recall writing a review for them they offer up a really nice thin pizza, but they also do have some thick options, my son got cheese and I tried their grilled chicken and I found their slices to be acceptable and I was reminded that I really ought to order a full large pizza from them sometime since it is fairly close to where I live, and conveniently, they are right off of 295..

What an adorable little spot that has two separate counters for ice cream and pizza. You can't get anything better than this for a quick bite! They also have some apps like chicken tenders and fries and mozzarella sticks. Pizza is actually ridiculously good. My favorite was the pillowy Margherita pizza squares. I could eat half a pie, to be honest. They have some great deals where you can get a slice and a drink, combo or late night where you can get buy one get one slices. The service is super friendly and I'm looking forward to go back!

These two slices were 9$ it's the traditional and Bianca special. If you love garlic the Bianca is for you. The dough is light. The red sauce is perfect. Great quick meal.

Got the blueberry cheesecake, VERY creamy, if that's not your vibe this ice cream isn't for you. Tons of parking. Inside and outside seating - air conditioned!! Public bathroom!

What a cute place! On one side you have pizza and on the other ice cream. It was nice and bright and looked very clean. We ordered a slice, which was huge! It had bacon, pepperoni, and onions on it. It was delicious! The people at the counter were friendly and the service was quick.

As someone visiting from N.Y., I found the pepperoni slice good and would have it again. Wasn't disappointed.

Pizza is great and the ice cream is good. The only issue I have is with the staff they seem clueless and unprepared at times very weird.

Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Bistro is upscale in the best way. Dark wood, brick floors, pendant lights over a small bar. The lights are dim but the room is inviting and intimate. When we arrived, it wasn't empty, wasn't slammed. Nothing felt rushed. Everything moved at the right pace, giving us time to talk, time to savor, time to just enjoy being there. Even after we paid, no one hurried us out. The room was filling up around us, but we never felt it. Fresh plates for every course. Water refilled when it emptied (not before we noticed, exactly when). Every time we said thank you, our server said "of course" like she truly meant it. The focaccia came out warm. Tear it open and you see irregular holes. That takes hours, not shortcuts. They bring whipped garlic butter because it spreads easier, but the bread's good enough alone. Four meatballs arrived, tender enough they fell apart as I tried to work them through the sauce. Took surgeon hands. Pool the red sauce on your plate or spoon some over the top of each bite. Without it, they're bland. With it, they're quite good. The pepperoni pizza came out right. Char on the crust, pepperoni curling into little grease cups, cheese stretching six inches on those first bites. The sauce is light. The crust ends taste a little like char and semolina. I'm a sauce guy. Always have been. This pizza wasn't what I look for, but the people around us all looked happy to be there and with their food. Giuseppe's making the pizza his customers want. Fruit crumble for dessert. Fresh blueberries and peaches, vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed the peach side more than the blueberries, which was unexpected. The peaches were a little less sweet. The blueberries? Really sweet. Fresh and enjoyable. Giuseppe's fills up for a reason. The service is the best I've experienced in months. People were taking their time, talking, enjoying everything that was in front of them. They seemed like they knew they were somewhere special. They got it right.

The hand feel, the specific chew, the way the crust gives under your fingers. I could identify it just by touch, blindfolded in a lineup of a hundred pies. It's wired into me from countless visits over the last 30+ years, born in the taste of being young and hungry and not overthinking anything about quality, just taste and filling you up. So when I tell you that Pizzeria Romana, located right by the Lincoln Mall, is just like Papa Gino's dressed up for the prom, understand that I mean it as the highest compliment. This was a new stop this year on the Lord of the Pies circuit. We walked in with zero expectations. The space is warm without trying too hard. Black and white checkered tablecloths. Italian countryside murals on the walls. The staff greets you like they're happy you showed up, which is rarer than it should be. The cheese pizza is where this place reveals itself. Same Papa Gino's geometry: thin, sturdy, dependable. But elevated with ingredients that actually taste fantastic. The cheese blend brings provolone into the conversation, adding sharp, tangy notes that cut through the richness. Everything works. The crust has that holds its crispness on top, great chew in the middle, and just enough cornmeal texture underneath to remind you this thing came from a real oven. The pepperoni, though. It overwhelms. Too much salt, too much grease, too much of everything. It doesn't play well with others. It storms onto the plate and dominates, drowning out all those subtle cheese notes that made the plain slice sing. Stick with the cheese. Let the fundamentals do their work. What Pizzeria Romana understands, what Papa Gino's always understood, ipizza doesn't need to reinvent itself to be good. It needs good ingredients, technique, and the restraint not to screw it up with unnecessary flourishes. This is a nice neighborhood spot where you can bring a date or grab a pie with friends without pretension. The best thing a pizza can do is remind you why you fell in love with it in the first place. Pizzeria Romana does exactly that. Just hold the pepperoni.
