This outpatient physical therapy in the high desert. My aunt complained of lower back and left hip pain with intermittent left leg numbness. We got imaging done and decided to choose this center for her care. The initial assessment was pretty straight forward. But, what is impressive is how there is a goid deal of consideration with my aunt's language barrier and matched her up with a physical therapist who can easily communicate with her without the need of an interpreter. My aunt is so happy and excited. She is eager to come to her weekly appointment. The center is very busy even late into the afternoon ans that says a lot. Kudos! read more

Very kind and thorough treatment compared to previous places I have gone to for PT. Everything was explained to me as to what the particular equipment was helping with. I have terribly painful knees and after the first treatment I am feeling a little sore in the muscles that were used but my knee pain is less that when I went. I am very happy my first treatment was with Amy. She is so thorough and allows rest in between sets if you feel you need some. One exercise I really didn't care for and wanted to whine my way out of it but she would not let me get away with it. I am thankful for that., it's what I need. I am now looking forward to my next "land" session. The pool sessions are also very nice, water feels so good and allows more movement with no pain to these old knees. Ladies in the pool area are extremely nice and you feel like family when doing your water exercises. read more

Went for my initial evaluation and found the only evaluation they want to do is a wallet biopsy. Only interested in you paying them and then you billing Medicare and getting reimbursed by Medicare. Sounds like this place has been suspended by Medicare and they want you to pay. I have traditional Medicare and a Supplement and have never run into an issue before with any provider. Called me 3 times prior to my appointment to verify insurance and couldn't even get my birthday right. What a bunch of amateurs or scam artists. Won't go back and advising my physician to not refer any other patients to this unprofessional organization. Patients' beware! read more

Everyone is kind, compassionate and professional. My sessions are almost over, thanks to the wonderful therapy that I have received.

From the moment I walked in I was welcomed by a friendly staff and a noticed the cleanliness of the facility. I was greeted by a smiling receptionist and noticed the staff wiping and sterilizing as they all went about their business. The communication prior to my visit was impressive as well. I started therapy about 4 weeks ago with Miss Yvette bc of a pinched nerve and a bulging disc on the right side of my neck. I was in a lot of pain in my neck and back, and had much discomfort in my right arm. I had pain actually radiating down my right arm and pain in my right shoulder blade as well. When I first laid on the therapy table to have Miss Yvette work on my neck, I couldn't lay flat on my back bc of the pain in my right arm. Miss Yvette was very professional, friendly and smart as a whip. She explained what she observed in my MRI and x-ray and gently started working on me. She spoke to me the whole time while working on me and that was so reassuring. I really couldn't believe how much she cared and how committed she was about my treatment. She took her time and again explained everything she was doing. Her hands were angelic on my hurting neck and I honestly felt much better after just one visit. I must have asked her 25 questions or more during my treatment...and she answered them all! Never did I get the impression that I asked too many questions as Miss Yvette was as patient as a saint. As my treatment came to an end Miss Yvette marched me into an office and showed me the exercises (homework) she recommended I do at home each night. We watched the videos of the exercises so I knew how to do them and then she printed them all out for me to take home. Also.. Miss Yvette set me up with a website so I could watch along as I do the exercises and comment on how I felt as I did each movement. She always responds with a positive affirmation and encourages me. I am very humbled by how great I feel after after only 4 visits. The pain in my right arm has lessened drastically. The pain in my should is almost non existent. My neck has so much less pain and my range of motion has increased amazingly. I feel like I got my life back as my pain over all ....has decreased quite measurably!!! After my first visit, I was optimistic, considering the pool and variety of equipment. The head PT also appeared very empathic of my condition and promised to discuss any weight bearing/resistance exercise with me prior and respect my limits. Unfortunately the opposite happened. I only worked with assistants after my first visit. During my fourth and final visit, an assistant had me do a hand bike for ten minutes (after not using my arms and being on disability for shoulder pain for 4 months). when I complained of burning nerve pain, she told me I needed to push through it. After the hand bike she attempted to have me do an array of exercises, ranging from resistance bands to throwing and catching a weighted ball against a trampoline. When i expressed concern to the physical therapist, she told me it was 'fibromyalgia pain' and to keep going ( I do not have fibro. I have lupus, sjogren's and nerve impingement in my spine). I found this bizarre, as just the week before, the therapist instructed me to not lift my arms over my head frequently and build my range of motion prior to building strength. it was almost like we never had that initial visit and she hadn't remembered seeing my MRI. I seriously think she may have confused me with another patient. Over a month later and I am still suffering the consequences of not standing up for myself with the assistant and PT during that final visit. I've had to spend a fortune for massages and acupuncture to release the muscle knots caused by sudden over exertion from Power Center. My neurologist confirmed what I was experiencing was definitely neurological pain, not 'fibromyalgia type pain' like the PT stated so rudely in front of other patients. I am not advising against this facility; I simply want to inform potential patients of the dangers associated with listening blindly to these assistants. Assistants who have no formal anatomy training should not be providing the majority of your PT care, especially with the amount of money most insurances pay out. If you have a very strong personality and can easily tell the assistants 'no', this would be a great place considering the fitness equipment and water classes they offer. If you are a 'trust the professionals' type of person, i would choose another facility with assistants who have actually taken an anatomy and physiology class, or who work under direct supervision of the PT. As a former teacher, i would not dream of speaking to my first-graders the same way i was spoken to in front of other patients, never mind speaking in this manner to an adult woman with already compromised pride from a chornic illness. I find it very unprofessional how vocally frustrated the assistant became with me the last visit. Please remember, your patients are the ones who have to deal with the consequences of your poor treatment judgments, not you, so please listen to them! All i can end with is how utterly dissapointed I am that your arrogance and inability to listen caused me this type of set-back. read more

I was left at each station and after every 5 minute exercise I had to ask for someone to tend to me. This happened on 3 consecutive visits so I stopped going. It was so much wasted time. Nice facility though yet seems they need a manager. read more

These people are AMAZING. The physical therapists are extremely knowledgeable and they love what they do. They really do treat their patients like family, going above and beyond to help them get better. They explain what is going on to the patient thoroughly and make sure that they do what is best for the patient with every visit. There is a gym and pool available to their patients as well. This place will make you feel at home and just when you don't want to leave, you will have to because they work hard to make your injury and quality of life better. read more

This facility is not what I had hoped for. First off I did go on Yelp and ignored the negative reviews thinking they were from sensitive and picky people. Not furthar from the truth! The place is not client friendly. No one greets nicely. No one answers the phones except if you get lucky. Need to cancel a session? Good luck....get in your car and drive there to do it. Unprofessional. Has anyone who has ever gone here actually had a physical therapist work with them?? Reception staff is unskilled and unfriendly. Other aides and assistants are not trained and should probably not be doing all of the work with patients. I never got out of there under 2 hours. I would sit around waiting for the next part of my therapy. La la laaaaaa. Who wants to blow 2-hours of a day twice a week? Amazing that they can stay in business. read more

Love the Power Center. When you walk through the door you are greeted. If you find a therapist you prefer you can always schedule with them. Cassie and the others make you feel better before they even work on you by making you feel welcome with a smile of recognition and calling you by name. They listen to what your goals are and help you reach them. If you reach a Plateau they don't just keep taking your money; they get you to move to the next level of work. I cannot express how much better I feel and am excited about getting to the point where I can get my full range and back to my sport. read more

Apparently, there are no live persons to answer the phone during business hours. Oh wait, what are their business hours? They close down and lock the doors for "lunch" and meetings. If you call, be prepared to leave messages and receive no callbacks. When you are asked to be there 15 minutes early as a new patient, be prepared to encounter locked doors and rudesby personnel who inform you they are at lunch, and then a meeting. You will be asked in a condescending way , "Who asked you to be early, the automated caller?" Answer, "Why yes, YOUR automated message caller!" You will be asked to wait in the gym area, in our case to generously to get the 88 year old wheelchair bound patient out of the hot sun. You will be told that you cannot sit in the lobby because ypu cannot be allowed to hear their meeting. You will be left waiting in the empty gym for the appointment that they set for 1:00 and told to be 15 minutes early. This is, by far, the most unprofessional organization. Went for my first visit today. The staff is so nice and welcoming. We had our consultation with Yvette and she was amazing. She put a special tape around my bad knee and it took so much of the pain away. I start water therapy on Friday. If you are looking for a place to take therapy I highly recommend this place. The thing I liked the best is that they care about their patients as they allow you to use their gym or pool for a year after your therapy ends. Not many businesses offer this that I have ever seen. Power Center of Victorville isn't a place for you to go is you need to use the pool area. I helped a patient get from the stairs to the side bar in the pool and I got in trouble for touching a patient. A patient asked how to do a certain foot movement in the exercise and I got in trouble for showing her. I was watched by Ferris constantly. He would come in and ask me a question and then leave. After finding out that they were accusing me of taking over the class and teaching the patients, I blew up. When I get that mad, I start to cry. The manager took me into her office to discuss the matter. She told me that she watched the tape, there is no sound recorded, and her and the senior therapist Ferris, decided that I had taken over the class and was teaching patients. The manager/owner told me that I could continue coming if I wouldn't (1 touch any patient (2 talk to any patient about any exercise (3 show how an exercise is done to any patient (4 help any patient in any way even saving them if I see them in trouble in the water (5 not swim in the pool and (6 get in and out within an hour and no longer even if I hadn't finished my exercises and that includes the Jacuzzi. If I couldn't keep to these rules, which are just for me, then it would be better if I didn't come again. There are people who swim in the pool, help others when then don't understand how to do a certain exercise or touch an other patient, such as helping with a noodle or holding their hand. Patients talk to one another all the time. I told them that I was being punished for doing things that others do. The manager told me that I wasn't being punished but that they would only allow me a slot of time so that I had to get out at the one hour mark because the next class started next. Needless to say, I told her that I wouldn't be back ever. I have pain daily with my back and disc problems but I'll have to find something else to do to try to get some relief. read more

Difficult to contact via phone, no return call after first message left two months ago. Finally went in person to set appt for consultation. Yesterday my appt was scheduled for 10 a.m. but I wasn't seen until 10:40. Because I asserted myself regarding the late appt., the therapist became rude & belligerent. He also did not like it that I requested the consult room door to be closed for privacy (hello HIPPA), & became visibly distressed when I questioned his credentials. Apparently his ego did not permit this type of legitimate inquiry. He then started making puffed up claims about his background & the number of rare disease/autoimmune disease patients he's seen. He was rude & obnoxious & it was clear he wasn't capable of addressing straightforward issues like privacy and credentials. The "consult" was abruptly ended after I told him his opinion did not override my physician's orders. He stormed out of the room. I called him a jerk & demanded my paperwork back. On their FB page I asked if someone would please provide licensing & credentials information on the center & staff. Shortly afterward I received a call from the center owner/manager who wasted my time defending her employee who could not handle a consult session. She claimed she listened to our entire conversation from the next room. I found this bizarre that she would just listen in rather than intervene if she felt there was serious miscommunication going on between a prospective client & her employee. She also agreed that he does better with submissive clients. She claimed there was nothing she could do & for our "mutual protection" it would be best if I sought help elsewhere. I can't help but wonder what she thought he might do to me if I came back in. I told her I don't need protection from anything & that being a mature adult I can handle conflict & go about my business. Evidently this isn't the case for her or her employee. Before we finished the call I asked again for licensing & other credentials. I expressed concern that there is no information of this sort on their website, on their FB page, or in their brochure. She said she didn't need to provide this information and if I want any of that I can look it up. In my opinion the entire situation is very sketchy. I'm more than happy to pursue other options. I refuse to hand over my health & welfare to just anyone. Even one star is too high a rating. Caveat emptor. read more

I have been to other physical therapy places in the high desert for treatments for various reasons. Power Center, by far, has provided the best care, hands down. The therapists are knowledgable and skilled. They know their stuff. They listen and customize treatment plans for you, unlike others that treat everyone like a number. This place is definitely not a mill like others. They treat you well and get you better FAST. I have gotten treatment in ONE VISIT that I never received in 6 sessions elsewhere. This place is very CLEAN and professional. Don't rely on others' negative feedback until you have experienced this place. I have been to at least 4 other PT clinics and none can compare to these guys. NONE. I have been coming here now for over 2 years and my experience just gets better each time. The owners treat their staff and their patients like family. You always feel welcome. And they provide EXTRA services after your treatments are done- for free! You can use the gym and pool for a year after getting therapy. Nobody else offers that program. read more
