The staff was friendly and there was ample space to sit. There was a pretty limited menu when we visited (April), but still some good options. In the summer, I believe their menu grows quite a bit. My friend and I split the pastrami melt and turkey sandwich; they both came with house made chips. We got fresh brewed unsweetened tea to drink, which brought our bill to right around $40. I preferred the pastrami sandwich as I'm not a huge fan of cold sandwiches and I did not find the spicy mayo on the turkey to be spicy, at all. That being said the bread for the turkey sandwich was fresh & tasty. The pastrami was juicy and flavorful and the mustard on it was perfect. The housemade chips were pretty good too. They have a breakfast menu til 11am and a lunch menu after. Really solid sandwiches. My wife and I went halfsies on a reuben and a chicken salad sandwich. We got the best of both worlds: The reuben was crunchy and toasted whereas the chicken salad had much softer, chewier feel. Both were stuffed with meat, so nice and filling. Each came with a side of chips that seemed home-made. My toddler is really into soup so she tried a ham and kale minestrone type soup. This is a little quaint eatery that has the painting of Tesla on the outside. It has a coffeehouse feel with the delicatessen taste. I picked the Reuben on Sourdough and the bowl of Turkey and bean soup. I was ecstatic that they offered Coke Zero in the bottle since many other local places only had Diet Coke. That being said, the Reuben sandwich was good, but not great. It came with home made chips that were cold and soggy. They kept them in a box on the front counter near a clear plexiglass barrier. The soup was in a very small cup and for $6.00 I would have hoped for a better sample. The flavor was ok, but nothing to rave about. Now the worst part, I'm not sure if anyone in food service nowadays understands the concept of food safety. I watched the lady that made my food, take out her cell phone multiple times with her food prep gloves on and go from the phone in the pocket to preparing food plates. The other younger girl did the same thing, but worse, she used the dish rag to clean tables and counter, grabbers her phone to check and then took bread from the shelf and place them in bags. They never changed their gloves and continued to prepare food as they switched from personal items and food items. I'm amazed I didn't get sick, This is the worse case of cross contamination seen in a while. I also believe the owner, a man, watched it all and then took the bread from the you girl and left the store. I won't be back and I hope they make changes to their food handling procedures. Ordered another Thanksgiving pre-fix meal this year and it was just as delicious as I remember! It's a great value--tons of food for $50. It's really easy for when I fly in to Buffalo for American Thanksgiving but then go to Canada to be with family... but it's not Thanksgiving in Canada on the same day so we just take Thanksgiving across the boarder and have a lovely meal! Soon I'll move to Canada and will cook my own Thanksgiving meal but until then I'll happily support this local business and enjoy theirs! read more

This could be a nice quaint eatery and apparently bagels are made here, except for the guy in the cashier - the staff were so unwelcoming. There were 3 ladies just talking so loudly and a family came in looking at the menu and nobody even acknowledged them - I saw the mom looking at the staff waiting for service but the 3 ladies were busy talking, so they just left. We traveled to Niagara Falls with our little corgi and stopped by this restaurant to eat at 1 pm. The trip was long and our little corgi was a little stressed out and wouldn't eat her dog food. We knew that one thing she reliably eats is eggs. We asked the restaurant for some eggs. The bagel was chewy but lacked, to me, a true bagel flavor. The pastrami was flavorful and had just the right amount of provolone cheese. Egg cooked medium. My husband had the Manhattan breakfast sandwich with bacon, cheddar and egg. I tried a bite and it was good. For the most part, no serious complaints but certainly not what I expected from the hype. Food was good, of particular the food reminds of a food truck, in the best way, with a simple menu. Service was also good. Ambiance is laid back and reminds you of the many coffee shops in Seattle. Two things: * No cutlery offer lt breakfast. If you are eating the breakfast Sammy's, the cheese is hot from being melted of course, but you are left to eat with your fingers. * When you order your coffee, you must order at the time you order your coffee and pay. Otherwise, no cream/milk is offered at the condiment area and you must queue again to have it added and request a stir stick. Not a huge deal, but adds to the time for a simple order. BTW, the ice coffee comes from the drip...diluted when you consider they serve Espresso and the like adjacent to the drip. read more

Jumped off of the highway for breakfast on the way to Toronto and found this cool little place on Yelp when looking for a spot that wasn't fast food. Not what we expected but did the trick... Food is ordered at the counter... much like fast food. The menu is limited to basics so don't expect a full breakfast... But there is a decent selection of breakfast pastry, bread, sandwiches and beverages. I ordered bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted everything bagel... Very tasty and satisfying. The decor is kinda urban warehouse on an old street of shops... Some diner style seating, some Coffey house window and a nice little patio. Really liked the atmosphere and the pleasant service. All in all a good experience... They would easily rate a 4th star if they expanded the menu just a bit but no complaints on my first visit. Power City! We ate here twice, during our short stay in Niagara Falls. We were so happy to find a cafe and restaurant like Power City, that makes a lot of their own offerings in house! From pastrami to bagels, and more! Lunch- I built a nice chicken salad sandwich, and it was so yummy. The cappucino my girlfriend got was made with care by the guy that looked like Nikola Tesla (which Power City also pays tribute to with an outdoor mural). They've got indoor and outdoor seating. We came back for breakfast, and unfortunately they were slammed and out of lots of ingredients like bagels for breakfast sandwiches. Orders were taking forever, but you know what? This is THE hidden gem of Niagara Falls! I've had the pleasure of eating here three times, and love it more every time. My favorite sandwich here is the Cataract Classic-all the flavors go together so perfectly and I find myself craving it all the time. I love the tapenade they use on it, and the meats taste so fresh. The roast beef sandwich could have had a bit more meat on it but it tasted good on the Italian bread with provolone and Apple slices on it. The horseradish mustard they provide has a nice tangy taste to it. The espresso was also very good. This is a large place with quite a number of tables. You can park free for two hours on the street. This was my second time dining at Power City Eatery and hubs first time. My first time was with Sarah K. She introduced me to this yummy breakfast and lunch cafe. I don't remember what I had last time, but it was good! Today I had the pastrami, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on sour dough bread. The sandwich comes with 3 eggs over medium, provolone cheese and your choice of a bagel or bread. They were out of bagels. It was yummy and filling. I do agree with other yelpers, the pastrami does taste a bit weird if you eat it plain, but on my sandwich it was good! Hubby had the roast beef sandwich. He enjoyed it and so did I as I had a bite. The roast beef was very thick cut and the texture was similar to pastrami, but still yummy. It came with lettuce, cheddar cheese, apples, horseradish mayo and he added yellow mustard which was a yummy touch! He had it made as a melt, so his cheese came melted. The only thing that was iffy to me is the roast beef was hard to pull apart while eating. You had to bite hard and it didn't seem to want to come apart. Still good! The cucumber water is supperrr yummy! I took a cup to go. The chips are also super yum! They're only open til 1pm now, not 3pm on Sunday's during winter from Oct 1-Apr 30 and breakfast is served all day on Sunday during winter months!
