We enjoyed the breakfast, the friendly and attentive staff, and the price was excellent. It was much better than the iHop or Denny's. Unlike the expensive hotels, it wasn't $20 to $70. It seems that $50 per person for a meal is the most common for breakfast, lunch, or dinner in many of the surrounding locations. I had passed by this place a couple of times, and never really stopped. I went online and checked out the reviews which are all pretty bad except for a few four-star reviews. I thought I'm going to have to check this place out for myself. So here's what I discovered. The food is okay, not amazing but just okay. Probably the lowest priced breakfast I have seen in Niagara Falls. They do not offer you free water, it's all bottled. Coffee is 4 bucks, which is pretty standard. I think the modus operandi is this: they get you in with the cheap buffet and then up charge you for anything else you want to order. Which I get, the buffet is always a loss leader, and they get you on the drinks which are marked up significantly. So let's talk about the buffet itself. Based on what I read from the other reviews, the hot ticket would be to get there right when it opens. That way the food has just come out, it's fresh and hot, and there is enough of it. I had the eggs, the sausage, and a piece of French toast and a waffle. I did go back for seconds to get a bowl of fruit, and try out the tater tots. The food was okay. Again, not the greatest I've ever had and not the worst I've ever had. It was a perfunctory breakfast. But again I tell you you need to get the right when they open to get the best stuff. Would I go here again? I don't think so. There are plenty of other places in Niagara Falls that are way better for just a little bit more money. However, if you have a group of people you're trying to feed on the cheap, this is a place to go. Case in point while I was there, two busloads of Mennonites came in and swarmed the buffet. They offer breakfast until 2pm but by that point it's all leftovers. We paid full price for very very limited selections. Two different types of eggs, sausages, bacon, waffles, french toast, rice pudding, all of your fruit and jello, chicken fingers, tater tots, and the list goes on. You really cannot screw up breakfast food although the eggs were not so good, everything else was fine. We could just not get a waitress or a waiter to stop and get us drinks. Well we knew what to expect given the reviews and the price but decided we weren't gonna find a cheaper breakfast elsewhere. Usually bad buffets have a pretty decent breakfast. I'd call this a little below decent and terrible variety. The buffet has less choices than a hotel breakfast. There was one small table and both sides has the same thing. There were pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, chicken nuggets, some type of cake thing I didn't eat, plain yogurt, jello, rice pudding and toast. Again it was ok. I had the waffle and French toast. Soggy. The sausage was not very good. Bacon, have to find the good pieces. Same with the eggs. Toast was strange rice pudding was good as well as the little Greek bun things. All in all would probably not return. We recently took a family trip to Niagara Falls and stopped at Almacs buffet for breakfast. For $12.99, I can't complain! They have a good variety of breakfast foods such as scrambled eggs, omeletes, bacon, sausage, tater totes, pancakes, waffles, toast, French toasts, oatmeal, as well as fruits and some sweet treats. The only complain I have would be the scrambled eggs and waffles.The scrambled eggs were a bit cold and the waffles were quite hard. Other than that, for $12.99, you can't beat an all you can eat breakfast buffet in Niagara.The services was very good with staff being quick and friendly. Finally got to try the dinner buffet. It's better value than breakfast. They get 3.5 stars because no one told me there was food at the BBQ station outside too so I missed it (sausages, burgers & two more things). Don't miss it! It's not gourmet quality but at $25.99 you get more than what you pay for and the cold dishes, 2 soups, cheesecake, rice pudding & plain yogurt with syrup punched above their price class. The ice cream is the same cheap ice cream that low end buffets use but it was kept well, so it had few ice crystals. There's even roast beef (though it's a little tough). The chicken nugget I had was dry but that's kinda on me - what sort of adult eats nuggets at a buffet? But then, I had to write a holistic review after all, and that meant trying everything. Even the pasta in watery tomato sauce where some strands were stuck together (yeah, skip that too). Remember to bring your own water so you don't pay for a bottle. For a buffet that cheap, my brother and I did not have high expectations. We went during breakfast and luckily did not have to wait long for a table (about 10 minutes) and the place was super packed. The breakfast selection was mediocre, we were expecting them to offer more choices. I knew that they charged for water and did not want to pay for it so we brought our water bottles there. The waitress saw us drinking it and said that was not allowed and told us to put it away. It's weird that they don't give water for free and expect people to pay $3-4 for a bottle of water. It's not a our first time eating here at Almacs Buffet, the food is great but the service I'm dissappointed with one server. Literally looked at me when the time im waving and calling for a server as I need a cuttlery, what she did is just to ignore me and looked somewhere and helped another customer which is from her country. Tried to go here, but was rushed out saying where we were standing was a fire hazard. They have people going in 2 different entrances and a room that was empty. We were yelled at to leave the restaurant and to wait outside. When we tried to ask if they would be seating anyone other than the hockey team she said when they start to leave. This "all you can eat buffet" is $12.99 per person while children 10 and under pay $10.99 each. Okay, so the price is right but not everything inside is right. First, you can't even get a free glass of water. You have to pay extra for water; mind you, they bring you a bottled water at an additional cost. First let me say if I could give this place a 1/2 star that's what it would be. 1 is actually too much. The entire place was dirty. Floors, countertops, tables, chairs, and especially the bathroom. Honestly if we weren't just really hungry and exhausted from the day we would have left without ever even trying the food and we likely still should have. I'm going to start with the only positive feedback and that was that my wife liked the potato salad. After that it's all downhill. They had grilled sausage that was hard and I don't mean hard to eat I mean like trying to bite into a boot hard. The grill was outside but for some reason we were instructed to eat the grilled food they brought inside because they were having issues outside but people were still lined up outside to get food there too. This was prime dinner time and there were enough people there to keep food rolling I would have thought. I could go on and on about the frozen section heated up meats left there all day or the near inedible sides or the chewy ice cream as my son described it but it's too much. Listen to me this time just don't do it. We did not read reviews or trust our instincts this time and we paid for it dearly. For $11.99 per person, $3.99 for any drink and they required you to pay for their bottled water if you just want to get a glass of tap water. I would not consider coming back. The service is bad. When I finished with my plate. The waitress just stood there and did nothing. I had to stack up my plates so they can see. Breakfast buffet $11+tax = $12 CAD from 7am to 2pm. But all of its drinks cost at least $4 exta, even just water: they force you to pay for bottled water, no free tap water. But you can just bring your own watter bottles in to skip this drinks fee, and return their unopened water bottle for refund. You can choose to eat at outside patio when the weather is nice. Even the breakfast buffet has great filling selections, incuding omelletes, eggs, toasts, pancakes, waffles , oatmeals, fried chicken chunks, bacons, sausages, tater tots, maplle sauced beans , carrot cakes. The fruit salad seems a bit stale, but still edible. We ate our fill to last 2 meals worth, great valueas i know no other cheaper buffet in the GTA region that is still around as of 2023. Really loved coming here for an all you can eat breakfast buffet for $11.99 plus cost of drinks. I ate applesauce with cinnamon on top, vegetable scrambled eggs, beans, no pork but they had bacon and sausages available, pancakes, waffles with icing sugar, oatmeal, and too finish off the finale fruit cocktail and red jello cubes with icing on top.
