Communication with Power HRG was never a problem. They kept us on top of the process and kept their word with everything they told us. The quality of the work and the products (new windows and new external doors) are the best of any we considered. The installation was completed in a timely manner and when promised. The workers cleaned up everything, even washing the windows after they were finished, and making sure our home was in the condition they found it. We did not experience anything that bothered us in their sales pitch because we were ready to replace our windows and wanted to learn everything we could about their product. Yes, it took quite awhile, but there was a lot of information that was given to us about these high quality windows and doors, especially. A year ago we had made an appointment for them to give us an estimate but cancelled it because we just weren't ready to upgrade at that time. We were never bothered again. When the young man came around this year we were ready to consider getting new windows so welcomed their commitment to telling us about their products. So let's talk about the quality of service once you've decided to use Power HRG - it's great. The communication was excellent from all levels, local and from the main office in Chester, PA. The workers arrived on time (even a half day early after calling to see if it was satisfactory with us to begin the work early and finish early the following day), were polite, industrious, and meticulous. I was amazed that there was absolutely nothing to clean up inside or outside the house (but especially inside!) after the doors and windows were installed. They vacuumed,moved my furniture back in place for me, washed the windows inside and out, and made sure everything was completed before leaving. A follow-up visit/inspection was made to ensure all was done properly and that we were satisfied. We love our new doors and windows. I got a garden window for my kitchen and it's beautiful. Our back door has the internal blinds, and I love the fact that I can close them completely or pull them up to have a complete view outside when I want to. The doors are secure and the windows look great. The gutters are gutters - I mean, how exciting are gutters? But they do look great and we are pleased with the results. The bottom line: If you don't want to get new windows, doors, roofing, gutters, or siding yet, just politely tell them you aren't interested and close the door. End of sentence, end of verse. If you ARE interested, know that they will take the time to show you their product from beginning to end to convince you that this is a fine product and one of the best, if not THE BEST, that we saw. I'll start by saying that, overall, this was a good experience and I'm very happy with my windows and the installation process. Windows are expensive, so honestly, we only took care of the 5 worst ones. they look so nice that I wish I could have afforded the full replacement. One day..... Anyway, why they lost a star. The quoting process... 1) I hate people who knock on my door to solicit business. I am a firm believer that your work should speak for itself and if I want what you are selling, I can come to you. Lucky for them, they came by when I wasn't home and my husband was. He set up the appointment to come out and speak to both of us. 2) For some reason, my husband gave them MY cell number. So on the day of the appointment, I had about 10 calls to confirm the appointment. This is ridiculous. You can either come out at the agreed upon time, or not, but don't harass me all day. 3) Once the guy came out, he was there for 5 HOURS! No kidding. We were all hungry and I needed to start dinner. 4) After all was said and done and we finally agreed on what we were having done, and the timeline and price, etc......we still had to have yet another person come out and remeasure the windows. Ok, fine, but that was another day we had to make sure someone was home. 5) Would have loved to get our front door replaced, and it is honestly an immediate need, but I refuse to pay almost $9,000 for it. Lowes' quoted me a comparable door for half the price. The windows are great and we price compared them and we are in the price range we expected to me in, but I think they are making up the profit on the doors. That was just ridiculous. What was good.... 1) I love the windows, and barring anything crazy, I will piecemeal the rest of the windows using the same company 2) The installers were top notch. I've had workers in my house before, and these guys were just fantastic. The were quick and efficient and cleaned up after themselves. They even gave me the heads up call so I could secure my pets. I can't even get my bug guy to do that and he claims to be afraid of dogs 3) The warranty. Hopefully, we never have to use it. Hopefully, if we ever do, it's as good as they sell it to be. read more

I'm writing this review about their sales tactics and, as hard as it is to believe, is completely true. . . Yesterday I was just finishing up my shower when I hear my dog losing her mind, letting me know there someone at the door. I grabbed my towel and head straight for the door. I peeked out the window to see a fella standing there with a clip board. Thinking it might be someone from the city and important I hastily cover the front of my body with the towel and step out asking, "Can I help you?" He immediately goes into his spiel about how they had just replaced windows for my neighbor and I politely interrupted him saying I didn't want to waste his time but I wasn't interested. He spoke over me saying that my wood windows needed to be replaced, I explained that I liked my old windows and didn't want to replace them. He again talks over me, explaining again that they just replaced some windows at one of my neighbors. . .keep in mind this whole time I'm standing there, my fat body barely covered, dripping wet. This time I talked over him and said I had no interest in replacing my windows that I liked the old look of my windows. He wouldn't let it go and asked me, incredulously, "You don't have an interest in replacing the wood rot in your windows?" At this point I had lost any interest in continuing to be a southern lady, raising my voice, letting him know I didn't have any wood rot in my windows! I know this for a fact because I'm in Construction and Painting and I meticulously stay on top of it. That was finally what it took for him to walk away. I shut my door but not without hearing him laugh about the situation with his sales partner that was also canvassing the neighborhood. I had my windows replaced by Power Home Remodeling. Upong reviewing the other reviews - it looks like most ppl were just upset about the calling and sales process - which isn't wonderful but the product is great, the customer service was great, they were on time, polite, clean, and did a great job. My windows look really wonderful and I didn't even realize that the slight tint would be an added bonus. I gave the salesman and the PII guy my feedback on the sales process but overall - the price wasn't so different than other companies, the installation was perfect, and the follow up was exactly as it should have been. I don't feel I overpaid, no one called me continuously, and I'm happy with my product. I guess I could give 5 stars but I feel that the price should be good for 24 hrs so ppl can think a little more. from the initial contact to the final Post Installation Inspection, they were completely professional. I love that now I can sit right by a window and not feel the heat from the sun; even when the sun is hitting the window. The quality is very high, and I like that they don't subcontract the work. So to start with the sales people are kinda pushy. I felt like if I didn't sign right then, then I would get the best deal they could offer. We needed windows kinda bad so we purchased them. Next we ended up having gaps in 2 windows. You can see day light on the sides of each window. Gap is wider then a credit card thickness. I called and set up an appointment to have them fixed. The first available was 3 months out due to coronavirus they said. But the guy assured me he would have someone out faster then that. He said that's just what his computer said. They never showed up earlier then the appointed date 3 months out. The actual appointment day came and the repair guy calls me hours before he is supposed to be here and says he's sick and he's not coming. So I explained to him that the house is sold and I need to get this fixed he said his first available day was sept. 23rd 2020 that's a month and half after the day he was supposed to be there. I told him that's not going to work because we won't even be in the house then. He told me his name. ( which I forget now) and said I promise I will be there next week to fix it I SWEAR. Lol what a joke. Here it is 2 weeks later and he never showed or called. At this exact monument I'm on hold with them to get this fixed and they have left me on hold for 35 min. Smdh. I will not use this company again ever. Poor customer service. And I own a customer service related business. read more

We were very impressed with the product. The salesperson arrived at 5:30 pm and did his presentation which was a little lengthy but thorough. He was willing to answer our questions and even called his manager and installation people when we asked questions he was unsure how to answer. From the beginning and throughout the process, the salesperson told us that he would not use high pressure sales techniques even though they do have the BUY TONIGHT TO GET THIS PRICE mentality. After making the decision to buy the product, we began to sign paperwork and set up an installation date...it was now 11:30 pm. The problem for us occurred with the HIGH PRESSURE close. After reading us the statement that we had three days to cancel if we changed our mind, he refused to allow us to continue signing the paperwork unless we gave our word that we would not cancel. We had no intention of canceling, but also know the law says we have three days and that was our right and should not be forced to say differently. He was so insistent that we SAY we were 100% sure we would not cancel and began telling a story about his grandfather and giving your word, that it began to feel a little like emotional browbeating. Adult buyers should not be treated like children by a salesperson you have invited into your home. His approach changed our impression of the company and began to bring feelings of distrust. Though the product may be good, the feeling of liking who you are working with is very important to a homeowner and being harassed in your home at midnight was not a good start. Unbelievably, he refused to allow us to sign the paperwork unless we said the words he wanted to hear. I wonder if that is legal? Be prepared to be pressured if you are set up with a sales call. read more

We were not in the market for new windows when we encountered PHRG. We need them but were not currently in the market due to the large cash outlay. What PHRG does is go into a neighborhood where they have an upcoming job. They look to see who needs windows or a roof. Then they knock on your door and offer a free estimate. That in itself is not wrong - many companies that do that. My wife and I decided to get the free estimate for future reference. Two days later a salesman came to our house. We liked him overall. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained their policies and how they do business. He took us through a rather long iPad presentation but we didn't really mind. We were quoted a figure that we couldn't handle financially at the time, so we declined. He then quoted us a figure for replacing half the windows in the house. My wife and I discussed this and decided to move forward with replacing half the windows. We signed all the paperwork that went along with it and shook hands. Before shaking hands the salesman told a story about his grandfather who taught him to keep his word, and he was now asking the same of us and not cancel the job. We later discovered this was just another sales tactic. There's another 1 star review from 3/2013 that recounts the same story. Our salesman has only been with the company since 11/2015 (found his LinkedIn profile). You have three days to cancel the project. Two days later my wife and I decided that the timing wasn't right. We called and told them we wanted to cancel. They were cooperative but insisted that someone from their cancellation department had to stop by our house to have us sign off on a cancellation document. Their 'cancellation department' is merely their most experienced and highly trained salesmen who try to save the sale. They sent a guy named Roman Numeral (not his real last name but that's what my wife calls him). He stated outright that he trained salespeople. Cancellation department indeed. It's just a ploy to have one final opportunity to change your mind. Roman Numeral said the form was needed in order to keep our salesman on the schedule, implying that his job would be affected by our decision. My wife asked him to please tell our salesman the cancellation had nothing to do with him. Roman Numeral ignored her. He spent 30 minutes or so taking down some feedback on why we cancelled. We were glad to because we wanted the company to know it had nothing to do with our salesman (this was prior to finding out about the grandfather fib). Then he started in with sales tactics. He tossed the iPad our way repeatedly, showing us figures and stating he was 'trying to help.' He tried flattering us repeatedly by saying what smart people we seemed. We dug our heels in and kept saying no. We even explained that we didn't want to take on the debt and would prefer to pay cash for it later. Now in my opinion a sales person who is a decent human should have stopped right there. Customers shouldn't be badgered into a financial obligation they aren't comfortable with. But he kept pushing and pushing us to take his offers that were good for THAT NIGHT ONLY, all the while saying he didn't want to pressure us. Pick a lane, Roman Numeral. My wife and I spent a good 30 minutes saying no to him. As a last effort he said he could offer us a 'friends and family' discount and again tossed the iPad our way. We didn't believe him. We are neither his friends nor his family and refused that offer too. At that point I decided to fix my wife and myself a plate of dinner to send a message that his welcome was over. While I was out of earshot, the slime ball went in for the kill with my wife. He tried guilt tripping her by saying that the company might have lost out on other potential customers because he had to come to our house for cancellation papers. He also insulted her by asking why she was willing to pay more money later instead of taking his offer now. First, they didn't lose customers - it was their choice to dispatch him with a form that could have easily been handled over email. Second, it isn't rocket science to conclude that they'll have deals down the road as well. I didn't hear what he said to my wife, but I did hear her yelling at him saying how dare he guilt trip her and telling him the conversation was over and to leave. Had I actually heard him verbally harassing my wife, things would have gotten ugly very quickly for him and his iPad. Roman Numeral should learn the 14th and 15th letters of the Roman alphabet. He does not understand the word 'NO.' Prior to this encounter we thought we could use PHRG later when we are ready to move forward. Now they have lost our business for good. The company seems to have great reviews on the install crews so quality of work and the product are not the problem. It's the dishonest and overly aggressive salespeople. PHRG should check that. read more

Their sales tactics are so irritating and insulting that they are in a class by themselves. I can't get them off of my property after I have told them no. They absolutely won't leave. The easiest and safest thing to do is call 911. Don't wait. don't argue....just call 911. Our local police force went over ways that these people would wish they had left your property when told to. Despicable company. Do let them on your property. They tried to get me to sign over for a new overpriced $72k-$$80k roof after pointing out that there was a leak next to my chimney which only requires additional flashing. My roof is less than 10 years old. They also over calculated the size of my roof by 1,200 square feet. Big difference! This company should have been honest with me and build up trust. If they had told me that the roof just needs a simple repair that costs under $1000 (as estimated by 3 other roofing companies) even though they don't do repairs, I wouldn't be writing this review. A representative from Power happened to catch my husband at home one day while going door to door & convinced him to give our phone number to schedule an appointment for an estimate on new windows. BIG mistake. The scheduler called & advised we would both need to be home at the time of consultation. My husband explained that wasn't possible & told them he was no longer interested. Since then they have called every day, 9-12 times per day (I have a call log from the phone company to prove it.) That is just insane & bordering on downright harassment! No reputable company would go to such measures. read more

The rep who came to my home was wonderful. He did stay for 3 hrs but we enjoyed our interaction. We were given 3 days to cancel our agreement and realized the next day, the remodel was not feasible at this time. We called immediately to cancel. Here's where it went south fast! They told us they would send someone out with cancellation paperwork. What should have been simple was a barrage of them trying to continue to sell. When the original rep left, we had a GREAT view of Power. After the cancellation reps, I will NEVER DO BUSINESS with Power. Trying to guilt a buyer into staying is abhorrent. We mentioned how much we enjoyed our original rep. They used that against us and stated, he would be reprimanded for this sale failure. Stated he may be removed from sales due to our cancellation. What kind of crappy tactic is that. Although reviews state they may do good work, I will never know due to there HORRIFIC sales tactics. In addition, I realized another tactic they seem to do... they step out and leave their Ipads on the table. I have to wonder if they are continuing to listen to conversation in the home. They returned "from getting a card" to speak to things we discussed while they were out. Fix your tactics, you may have better sales. Power Home Remodeling Group is not a reputable company. We had windows installed and they were measured incorrectly. I saw my installer cutting off part of my window to make it fit!!! When I asked them about it they told me that that kind of thing happens all the time. For the price I paid for the windows they should fit perfectly. When I called to inform them I was told someone would come out to inspect the work which they never did. I since called another window company that assured me that altering a window is VERY unprofessional and dangerous. I will never buy from Power again! Still waiting for someone to call and doubt they will since they have my money now. Unbelievable! read more

We had a wonderful experience with Power Home Remodeling Group and our new windows are amazing! They improve the look of our home and I'm sure the efficiency as you can't hear outside noises and they are sealed shut, no air is coming through those beauties! They are also super easy to clean and use. I was very impressed with everyone from the initial contact at our BJs club to the QA after the job was done. While the 5 men team was here working on our house, we had 2 different managers come by to ensure everything was going smoothly and we were completely satisfied. They really care about their products being installed correctly and the customers being happy and it shows. We will definitely use them again for gutters and any other product they offer that we need. FYI for future customers - the sales pitch is LONG. Our rep was at our home for 4+hours. Power HRG -- Say 'No Thank You' If you just say 'No Thank You' to the nice guy dropped off in your neighborhood to sign you up for free estimates for new windows, you will not have to endure the experience my husband and I went through recently. Please note, after the fact we read the reviews for the company on various websites -- the bad reviews were very similar but I will take this one step further. ****The Sales person arrived at my house on time and was in my house OVER 6 HOURS!**** After a very impressive but LONG sales presentation we finally got the price which I thought was outrageous. We were provided a "sign right now" price and a "after he left, good for one year" price. We turned him down a few times and he kept coming back with discounts that he could apply to lower the "sign right now" price. The "after he left, good for one year" price was never discounted. We are 5 hours into the presentation, we've had no dinner and had to work the next morning -- this was ridiculous. There seemed to be no end in sight, we felt like he would not leave until we signed. Finally, he lowered the price (appox $1400) from original and said that was as low as he could go and he would be taking no commission on this deal. Apprehensively, we signed - which took another hour of paperwork. As he was getting ready to pack up and leave, he said to us "If you turn around and cancel this, I will feel like you stabbed me in the back -- I feel like we are friends now." We let this comement slide unnoticed and got him out the door. ****The Cancellation Process -- HOW EASY or SO IT SEEMED**** My husband and I woke up the next morning with a bad feeling about what happened the night before. The price wasn't great and there were a couple of product items we didn't like but could probably deal with at the right price BUT the comment the sales person last said to us was just not acceptable and the was 'the straw that broke the camel's back'. The paperwork included a 'Notice of Cancellation' -- you can cancel within 3 business days without penalty or obligation by signing the 'Notice of Cancellation' form and mailing to the home office in Chester PA -- so we cancelled. We received a call from a Power HRG representative the day the home office received our cancellation form and stated they needed to set up a time to send out someone because the paperwork did not contain the 'offical cancellation form' and we needed to sign another form. The representative noticed my hestiation and stated "it was not a Sales Person coming, it was a Courier with the cancellation form - should only take 5 or 10 minutes." We agreed to a day and time. On the day the Courier is scheduled and about 45 minutes prior to the scheduled time, I noticed a car slowly passing my house and the driver looking at my house (maybe the number on the mailbox). Then I see the same car pass again about a minute later -- I see this same car PASS MY HOUSE AT LEAST 7 TIMES in the 45 minutes prior to the scheduled time and then pull into my driveway on time. I could understand if you arrive early in the area and you want to do a drive-by to check where the house is, but that was ABSURD. Anyway, driver gets out an introduces himself -- NOT A COURIER as the representative from Power HRG indicated -- but a QUALITY ASSURANCE Rep from Power HRG. The intentional LIE of having another Power HRG rep at my house on top of the drive bys that occured really started to irritate me. The QA Rep asked to go inside and I stated 'No, Power HRG has taken up enough of our time. We have our pens in hand and are ready to sign the cancellation form. We were told this would only take 5-10 mintues." He stated had a survey to go through - he needed to ask us questions and note our replies. We should have said 'No Thank You'. but we told him all the issues we had and why we cancelled. The QA Rep apologized for everything and said he wanted to "make this right -- to offer us another "sign right now" price - a friends and family discount price." This "friends and family discount" price was $5900 lower than the original -- and this really made me mad. To go through that 6+ hour ordeal with the Sales rep and were told he couldn't go any lower and now have this QA rep take up more of my time (15 mins now) and then offer a much lower price -- I told him he needed to leave. By the way, there was no "official" Cancellation Form to sign, they just needed us to 'initial' the survey form. Thank you to all that have read this and proceed with EXTREME CAUTION if you see POWER HRG in your neighborhood. On the sunny side, if you're patient enough and want to endure this extremely long process, then cancel and wait for the QA rep -- you'll get a much better price. read more

Absolutely AWFUL sales tactics!! Don't fall for the door to door salesmen and DO NOT let these scam artists into your home. Once they're inside they NEVER SEEM TO WANT TO LEAVE. The guy was at our house for FOUR HOURS (mind you this was at night so he didn't leave until after 11 pm) and had no regard for me trying to get my children fed and in bed (this was on a school night). When we cancelled they tried to say they needed to send yet another person out to our home (just a regular person, not a notary) to "witness us signing the cancellation form." I asked to speak to a supervisor and after explaining the horrible experience to her and confirming the cancellation THE SUPERVISOR HUNG UP ON ME. My husband and I went to the home show in Atlanta during the winter. We knew we needed a new roof within a month or two. We talked to several roofing companies to set up a time to come to the house for an estimate. One was Power Home Remodeling Group. We set up an appointment where both my husband and I had to be present. And Power never showed up. Imagine my shock when I get a call on Nov 3, and it's Power HRG telling me that they will have a representative on my street and they would like to stop to give an estimate to have the roof replaced. They asked me when would be a good time to stop. My response was 7 months ago. They certainly didn't care enough about us 7 months ago, why would I want to deal with them now. They also told me that they could give me an estimate on my next project. Sorry Power, you blew it. read more

A salesman knocked on the door and then went out to the sidewalk. I went outside and he wanted to give me an estimate on windows. When I told him we wanted to replace the siding first, he kept trying to sell me windows. I knew nothing about Power and didn't know they did siding. I still didn't know after this boy left. I'm puzzled at why he didn't offer to give me a quote on siding. He suggested I call him for windows after we got the siding done. I asked for a card (he had some in his hand) and he put the cards in his pocket like they were gold-plated or something. I really thought it was a scam by gypsies from the way he acted. That's why I looked them up on the internet. They have references from all over so I suppose they are nationwide scamsters. I'll stay with local builders, thank you. read more

Looking to replace 23 windows in my home , power home remodeling group called me to set up an appointment. I had already seen 4 people and knew who I was going to buy from. power home remodeling group insisted that their people would still love to come out. I tried to get her to give me an estimate on one window with features I wanted so we both could cut to the chase. She insisted that they would rather come out and talk to me, so I stayed home and waited for them. I understand not wanting to do that since they would want to show their product and all the bells and whistles. Two nice young men came out and after small talk asked where my husband was and of course I told them he would not be joining us. Upon that statement they had to step outside to call their boss to see if they would like to proceed. After a few minutes they stepped back in and said its their policy not to do a presentation without both parties being there. I have been making decisions like this for years and my spouse totally trusts me. I have been in sales and I understand having all decision makers there but I do think this is a little dated. You never know who you are talking to. You need to assume you are talking to the decison maker. My time was wasted or maybe not. It might be an indication of other problems in the company. read more

After reading the other reviews here, I'm glad my experience with PHR ended when it did. A salesperson came to my house, completely unsolicited, and wanted to talk about my roof. They asked a ton of questions, some completely irrelevant such as if anybody lived in the house with me, then asked if I wanted a quote on replacing the roof. I said yes. The salesperson called her scheduler and then handed the phone to me, only for the scheduler to ask ALL of the same questions again! After about the 5th question from the scheduler that I had already answered for the salesperson, I hung up and told the salesperson that I didn't want a quote anymore. Things didn't go well from there. The friendly salesperson quickly morphed into a jerk with a clipboard. To keep this short and sweet, they ended up leaving within 10 minutes of getting here and so compared to what most other reviewers are saying, I think I fared pretty well! read more

We just had all of the windows in our house replaced by Power Home Remodeling Group. My husband & I heard about the company when someone knocked on our door. We scheduled an appointment to learn about the windows (& gutters). The two men who came to our appointment were very pleasant, personable & professional. Heck, one of the guys actually played with our 2 daughters (ages 4 & 7) while the other was explaining the company & windows. Our only complaint was that we had told the guys that we wanted to learn about the products, but were absolutely not buying anything that evening. We did feel like there was a lot of pressure to 'sign the dotted line' that evening. We explained that it was a big decision, & we wanted to research windows, companies, etc... About a month later a different guy stopped by, & we felt much more comfortable with making a purchase since we had now had time to evaluate other companies. We had our gutters done first, & we were very happy with the work that was done. The men were on time, very professional & great with cleanup. Our new gutters are so much better than the old gutters. We had 34 windows that had to be replaced. That is a HUGE job. The 3 men that came to do the windows- John, Jamie & Travis were awesome! They were so efficient & professional. You could tell that these guys knew what they were doing. They completed the entire job in 2 1/2 days. The windows are beautiful, & we can already tell that our energy savings are going to be huge! read more

So completely disgusted by this company. They tried to take advantage of my 82 year old grandmother who lives with and cares for my 92 year old sick grandfather. They spent 3 hours trying to "hard sell" a $70,000.00 new roof and would not take no for an answer and would not leave her home! They also demanded that she "buy" today and they would "prey" that it would not rain if she didn't sign because the roof was so bad. She called me crying and worried that she would have to spend her life's savings to fix her roof. It is horrible to take advantage of the elderly. Just an FYI. She did have the entire roof replaced with a warranty for $20,000. Power Home should be ashamed of themselves and we are certainly spreading the word so they will not take advantage of any more elderly people! read more

So the salesman comes at 7:30pm, I scheduled him at that time due to my husbands schedule. At 11:30pm I am telling him I need to go to bed. Seriously, there should be a time when it is inappropriate to continue trying to sell a $55,000.00 job for a house that might appraise at $130,000.00. My 2500 sq ft roof, gutters and facsia, and bringing the insulation in my attic to code (who cares) was estimated to be $55,000.00. Who would invest that much in a roof and gutters in a house where you will not see the return. A four hour sales pitch is way too long. read more
