Cosmetically the car looked OK but I wanted the sensor issue resolved. I went to my "usual" shop thinking they could reassemble everything. I was quoted $2,300 which included a new bumper cover, paint, etc etc. . . I then went to my insurance company's "preferred" shop. The service writer quoted me $4,300 without even bending over to look at the damage. Upon my brother's recommendation I took the car to David at Elegant Body Shop, which is where I should have gone in the first place. David took the time to thoroughly look at the car and provided me several options for repair. Within 3 hours the damage to the bumper was completely repaired and a short time later the sensor was reconnected and reset. All for a price well below the quotes I received at the other shops. He had worked on my car before, but on December 14, I was involved in the most terrifying accident of my life. My car spun around one and a half times on the freeway before crashing into the center divider with so much force that it practically split in half. The freeway was shut down, and the officers told me I should not have survived. No exaggeration--the first person I called was him. I work in Lancaster and live near Woodland Hills, and he took care of arranging the proper specialized tow for my electric Mercedes EQS all the way from Lancaster to my home. At a moment when I was terrified, shaken, and had no idea what to do next, he made me feel safe and taken care of. The best comparison I can give is that he is like a great doctor with an exceptional bedside manner. He is knowledgeable and skilled, but just as importantly, he is calm, compassionate, and trustworthy. His pricing is extremely fair, he remembers his clients and their family members, and he never judges you when your car is embarrassingly messy--he understands what life with kids looks like! I reached out to several places and barely got any responses. Then I heard back from Regal Repair. I explained what I needed and they said, "No problem, just bring it in. We'll install it for you." I asked, "How much?" They said, "Don't worry about it. We'll do it, no charge." UM... excuse me?! I knew they were going to have to take the door panel off and that it wasn't necessarily the easiest little fix, so I was genuinely shocked that they were willing to do it for free. They were so accommodating with my schedule that day, got me in quickly, and had everything done in about 30 minutes. I literally begged them to let me Zelle them something for their time and they repeatedly refused. People like this deserve to be recognized. They were genuinely kind, honest, and helpful when they absolutely did not have to be. They have a customer for life with me.
