When we arrived, we were initially told dogs weren't allowed. I explained that our dog is extremely well-behaved and simply lays quietly under the table. The hostess said that was fine and seated us at a table right next to the outdoor area. After we sat down, three different employees approached us asking whether our dog was a service animal, even though another staff member had already approved her being there. By that point, we felt singled out and uncomfortable. The final employee was particularly rude and suggested we could tie "it" to a tree if we wanted to eat there. Referring to our dog as "it" and suggesting we leave her tied outside was shocking and unnecessary. Rather than continue feeling unwelcome, we decided to order a pizza to go. We had planned to stay for drinks, appetizers, and dinner, but instead we ate in our car. The prosciutto pizza was decent, but it was much saltier than we expected. At that point, we were just hungry and wanted to leave. What was most disappointing wasn't the dog policy itself--businesses are absolutely entitled to set their own policies. It was the inconsistent communication and the way we were treated after being told it was okay to stay. Instead, the experience left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

We stopped in, the place was packed, the ambience was great, and the food was just wonderful. My wife is an extremely picky eater. She ordered a chicken fried chicken sandwich, and it was exactly what she wanted. They even made her french fries extra crispy at her request. I had a chicken salad, which was phenomenal. I'm in town from time to time as a corporate pilot. I'll will be back. Thank you you guys.

The kitchen from what I've seen was consistently putting out good food. The only complaint I have and it's aimed at the owners is why do you charge/force a 3.5% fee/extortion on each bill/check to your customers... it's not Las Vegas and that's the only place where I've seen it constantly pushed, however in Las Vegas you can request it be removed and it is. Your establishment does give discounted options- like on debit cards you give a demand a smaller fee - to be totally fee free of demands/extortion you must pay cash...

Solid service there. Once we were seated, the waitress was friendly, attentive, and very good with recommendations. The trophies on the walls give the place a very western feel. The steak lives up to the hype. Mine was a sirloin, and it was aged well, cooked to perfection, and absolutely seasoned to perfection. I got mushrooms on the side, and it's great to see a place that serves mushrooms without onions, since I don't like onions. My wife got the burrata appetizer as a meal and raved about it the entire time. I'd go here again. In fact, I'd make this a regular rotation stop if I lived there.

There's lovely tables and chairs under the trees that are clean and stocked with napkins and hand sanitizer. A really nice break in our trip!

We had the House Malbec, from Mendoza, Argentina, and it had a delicious flavor and aroma. It was a full bodied and smooth, dark red offering. For an appetizer, we had the Shishati grilled peppers with pesto/cilantro sauce, and they were just fantastic. They are mild, nicely grilled, and beautifully presented. It is served as an appetizer, but please be warned, one out of every nine peppers is exceedingly hot. We had about 12 peppers, and all of them were mild, so we beat the odds! I've had hamburgers all over the world, and I can honestly say I have not had a better cheeseburger than I got right here from the menu at Blackstock. It's in a traditional bun, lightly toasted, with tempura, onion, cracked pepper, mayo, Tabasco, candied and smoked bacon, and it is served with Hand-cut fries. You can add guacamole for a dollar, or blue cheese or Gruyere cheese for another dollar. But I did not add a thing; it was perfect as it came out of the kitchen for me! You will be asked how you want your hamburger cooked, and I chose medium. It could not have been better! It's on the menu at a very fair $21 including your hand-cut fries. My lovely dinner-date had the petite filet mignon, a 5-ounce offering of spectacular steak, served with goat cheese, potato croquettes, asparagus, stewed shallots, served with a Cabernet Demi glaze at $45. It was a large serving, I believe bigger than 5 ounces, because we are taking half of it home in a to-go box! Again, the food was spectacular... really good. We will finish with the flourless chocolate torte, serve with whipped cream and Amarina dark cherries at $11. If I was a betting man, I'd say you're gonna love this place! Take a few pictures, do what I did, and leave a review, because more people need to know the quality of food coming out of this little storefront on a busy street in Gunnison! I ordered a BLT with Coleslaw on the side. It was nearly perfect. Crispy bacon fresh off the grill, juicy flavorful sliced tomato and lettuce leaves all inside lightly toasted thin sliced white bread with a generous slathering of lemony mayo. I highly recommend this great little place when in the Curicante NR area.
