Made a reservation for Easter for a party of 8. The inside has a good amount of tables as well as the outside. The menu had plenty of options. Everything was delicious! I would say the highlight had to be all the appetizers. They were a stand out. The pasta was fresh and the serving was HUGE! The dessert was perfectly sweet to top it all off.

It was our 38th anniversary and we were just enjoying our day together. Going to check out a new restaurant and this look like a winner. It was the middle of the day so there wasn't much of a crowd. The restaurant very warm, clean and inviting. It was a little windy so we decided to dine in indoors. The calamari was amazing although we prefer a more traditional cocktail sauce, the beet salad was great and was enough for both of us to share. I got the seafood risotto which was fresh and had plenty of clams, muscles scallop and prawn. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli, and she really enjoyed it. And the meal with a surprise anniversary dessert that was perfect along with the cappuccino. And to top it off, we ordered a butternut squash, ravioli, and lasagna to go for dinner later. And I haven't even mentioned how great the service was. The staff is all suddenly very attentive yet not intrusive. Our server Cedric was amazing and very complementary.

An unexpected favorite! My friends and I only walked by but the thought of fried calamari prevented us from walking any further! What we thought was going to be a casual girlies dinner turned into a delicious, date-night-level dinner. We ordered the fried calamari (of course,) a pasta, and a steak! Pranzi is for sure staying on our list for food options in San Carlos!

Pretty good for dinner! We visited Pranzi on a Sunday evening and got seated right away with no reservation. The interior had dim lighting, cute holiday decor, and felt both cozy and stylish. For drinks, I got a glass of the Storypoint Cabernet, which was decent. For food, I ordered the Crab & Shrimp Ravioli (specials menu) and my partner chose the Seafood Linguini. My ravioli was very good and the portion size was just right! I really liked the vodka sauce, although the asparagus wasn't my favorite addition. I didn't try the Seafood Linguini but my partner said it was pretty tasty. Would return to try more!

First time visiting this Italian restaurant for a birthday celebration, and the experience was a mix of highs and lows. We started with Spanish octopus, calamari, and bruschetta, along with a bottle of red wine. The appetizers were definitely the highlight -- especially the calamari, which was excellent. Our waiter also gave great wine recommendations, which we really appreciated. For the mains, I ordered the ravioli, while my friends had the paella and squid ink spaghetti. My ravioli tasted great, but the portion was smaller than expected. My friend said the squid ink spaghetti was very good, so I'll try that next time. Unfortunately, the desserts were disappointing. The crème brûlée was below average, and the Napoleon was definitely not worth the money. One more thing: the waiter kept rushing us throughout the meal, which really killed the celebration vibe -- especially since we arrived at a normal dinner time (7 PM). That part was a real letdown.

Great customer service and the decor inside the restaurant was so cute for the holidays! We got the bolognese and the conchiglie and both were cooked really well and they give you a good amount of pasta. I personally thought the pasta could have used a bit more salt but that is something you can ask for at the restaurant.

We came here for our 10 year anniversary and the staff was all very kind in genuinely celebrating with us! They made a point to find a lovely table for us and give us say in if we preferred something else. They were very kind in serving us and bussing our table. The restaurant is dimly lit for a romantic atmosphere. The tables and everything were wood and rustic in the best way to make it cozy. Unfortunately the tables were a little close together and my husband got knocked into every single time someone passed which was less than ideal for a nice higher end restaurant. The food was delicious. My brown butter sage gnocchi was a dream. My husband's food was good, not nearly as good. The calamari was also good, though not the best we have had. The tiramisu we got on the house for our celebration was delectable though. Overall very good and with the genuine kindness of the staff it is a place we will be revisiting again.

Always the best service and food whenever we come to Pranzi. Andres and the team catered to our every need and the food is always delicious. The seasonal peach and burrata appetizer was one of the most delicious flavor combos we have ever had. The wine and cream sauce on the Conchiglie pasta is perfection. Thank you again, Pranzi!

Went to this Italian spot with some friends and had such a great experience! They have a lovely outdoor patio area that's perfect for catching up and enjoying good food. The staff were all super friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We ordered quite a few dishes to share. Two salads, mussels, octopus, ravioli, lasagna, steak, salmon, poke, truffle Mac and cheese and paella. Everything came out fairly quickly and was delicious, but the octopus was definitely my favorite! It was my husband's birthday, and they were kind enough to surprise us with a free birthday treat. It was such a thoughtful touch that made the night extra special. Overall, great service, great food, and a really nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back!

Osso Bucco -- HUGE piece of veal!

Came here with my mom for my birthday, really enjoyed all of the food we ate. Hamachi appetizer was a nice, fresh way to start the meal. Osso Bucco was definitely on the heartier side. I was pleasantly surprised with how much meat came off that bone! Apple pie thing I had for dessert was a perfect, sweet ending to the meal. Wasn't too busy for a Friday evening, they have a nice outdoor set up on the closed-off street. I don't remember the servers coming by to check in on us and that's typically a big deal for me so one less star. Would def come back though!

The ambiance was dark and homey, which was perfect for dinner. The service was amazing and our server kept checking up on us, and was very informative while we were deciding what to order. The short rib ravioli was pretty good but was quite heavy to try and finish by yourself. The pasta was flavored perfectly, but definitely get the Parmesan on top for a little bit more flavor. We'll definitely be returning here to try out different dishes.

One of my favorite Italian places in the Bay Area!! I'm a frequent customer and I not only come back for the food but for the service! Ali was our server and he was so attentive and had the BEST energy. We enjoyed the filet mingon and the sole (which is a must try special). Coming back next weekend!!!

My sister recently hosted our wedding party at Pranzi, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The venue created such an elegant and intimate atmosphere that was ideal for celebrating such a special day. I did the decoration there and G (The Boss) was very professional and accommodating. Very easy to work with! The staff went above and beyond to make everything seamless. They were organized, attentive, and truly cared about making sure our guests were happy. Every detail was handled professionally, which allowed us to relax and actually enjoy our celebration. The food was incredible -- beautifully presented and full of flavor. Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was! The portions were generous, and the timing of the courses was perfectly executed. If you're looking for a venue in San Carlos for a wedding party or special event, I highly recommend Pranzi. They helped make our day unforgettable, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

To me the star of the show is their pizzas; there's a variety of options and they're each made very well. The pizza had a good snap and thin crust- made it addictive; burrata cheese was creamy and the pistachios were a great addition on the mortadella pizza for added texture. Thursday night still had a decent amount of people so it's a little noisy but I could walk in and get a table no problem. Service was super friendly and my waiter patiently and eagerly explained the menu items to us.

Our server was dismissive from the moment we sat down and seemed annoyed to be serving us. Things only got worse when we were served the wrong drink. When we politely mentioned that it wasn't the cocktail we had ordered and not the version we had received on previous visits. The bartender became defensive instead of trying to understand the issue or make it right. We ultimately settled for mediocre drinks and moved on. The food was underwhelming, the service was inattentive, and the overall experience didn't justify the price. To make matters worse, a mandatory 20% gratuity was added to the bill, despite service that was nowhere near deserving of it. For a restaurant that used to be one of our favorites, this visit was a major disappointment. Do yourself a favor and head to Impasto down the street instead, you'll find better food, better drinks, and definitely better service.

Since it was rather cool, we'd reserved indoor seating and were seated promptly as we arrived. The service is friendly and courteous, but can get a bit patchy. We ordered some drinks and one of our dining companions wanted to sample two wines to make their decision. However, our food arrived before the drinks and they handed us a glass of wine, forgetting about the tasting portion they was requested. The cocktails were good, so that was a win. We got the Rigatoni Bolognese which was okay (3/5) and the Neapolitan style Calabrian pizza (5/5) which we enjoyed. This is topped with creamy burrata cheese and had dramatic looking chilies on it which didn't really help the flavor but made for a stunning photo. The service can be super attentive, when one of folks realized we were sharing the Rigatoni Bolognese, they were quick to give us an extra serving fork without asking. These small touches go a long way to making a meal special and we appreciated it. Being rather full, we skipped dessert but they got us complimentary Limoncello which was a nice touch. I'll look forward to returning to try more of their burrata and pizzas!

The older gentleman serving us was extremely strict, rushed, and constantly lingering around our table. He repeatedly checked if we were ready to order and would just stand nearby if we weren't. When we finally decided to order, I let him know we were ready but politely asked if he could start at the other end of the table because I personally wasn't ready yet. He told me no, that he had to start from the head of the table. Mind you, he was literally holding a sheet numbered 1-12, so it didn't seem like it would've been an issue to accommodate a simple request. Thankfully, the food itself was good and honestly saved this review. However, the service continued to disappoint. I had to leave early and kindly asked if he could pack my food. He put his finger up, said "one second," then walked away to help another table he seemed much friendlier with. He never came back, and I ended up asking another employee for help. The food was great, but the service needs a lot of improvement. I don't know if employees aren't trained to uphold a standard for their customer service or if he woke up on the wrong side of the bed???? I'd only consider coming back because of the food.
