On a work trip so did take out. They don't have utensils for take out? I probably won't come back because of the inconvenice. Am I supposed to eat my meat balls and pasta with my hands? Meatballs in tomato sauce was good. Texture great, but no salt. Meatballs would be completely bland if not for the sauce. Worst pesto pasta I've ever had. The sauce is so thick I couldn't get thru half of it. I felt like a dog trying to swallow peanut butter. Barely any pesto flavor. I recently visited this restaurant on Friday, December 12th, to celebrate a fellowship graduation, and it was my second time dining here. The vibe is fantastic, truly unique and inviting. It's a classy establishment, but the staff are also incredibly friendly and attentive. They remembered our orders perfectly, and there wasn't a single mistake made. The drinks were amazing; I especially enjoyed the margarita. The Gorgonzola salad was incredible. The walnuts added a really nice touch. For the main course, I had the Bistecca, and it was phenomenal. You can really tell the quality of a restaurant by how well they cook their steak, and this place nails it. Excellent customer service. I had high hopes for this place but the pasta was lackluster to the point I couldn't save it at home, bland and very lacking in flavor. The salmon overcooked and dry. The caesar salad lacking in spark, tart, tang, anchovy, nothing, the croutons dry and overly crunchy. I basically pushed each plate over to my husband, who gamely ate a small portion of each dish. The interior is beautiful warm and convivial, the prices are good, though because each dish I didn't eat, it's hard to gauge the value. Street parking is easy. It's possible that we ordered wrong, and because the service was so sweet and it was our first visit, it's possible we just ordered the wrong dishes, not sure, but I feel like giving them the benefit of doubt. read more

I had such a great meal at Divino tonight. I ordered the homemade tagliatelle with shrimp, arugula, and mushrooms in a white wine sauce, paired with a glass of Chardonnay. It was so fresh and delicious! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of my plate! The presentation was also beautiful. The roasted red pepper sauce they serve with the bread is garlicky, but not overpowering. The staff were warm, helpful, and attentive. The restaurant started to fill up, which makes me happy to know that they have a strong following in the area. An amazing experience that I will remember for a long time. The service was provided by Antonio, who is a native Italian from Naples and knows how to work really well with people. He provides exceptional service on every count. The food was amazingly fresh, tasted all homemade and was clearly infused with lots of love. This was our first experience here, but it will not be the last. We plan on coming back many times over and referring this place to our friends. This is a wonderful restaurant. The service was excellent-Benjamin was our server. He was efficient, thoughtful, and attentive. All the employees we encountered were very nice-friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, from the bread to coffee and dessert. The olive oil was very good. The bread was a multigrain boule, so there was a lot of crust and was so delicious. In addition to the olive oil and balsamic, there was a tasty red pepper sauce. We started with the carpaccio, which was served with arugula and shaved Parmesan. So good! My husband had linguini alle vongole. I had tagliatelle with prawns in a wine sauce. Both paste were cooked perfectly, as were the prawns and clams. I added some of the red pepper paste and olive oil because they were so good. We tried 2 desserts-the panna cotta with mango and raspberries and the tiramisu. Both were light and delicious. I've been here a couple times with my coworkers and the food has been delicious. I'm a big fan of pastas so I'm always down to try Italian restaurants. I was very pleased with what we ordered and the desserts did not disappoint! That Apple danish or whatever it's called is soooo good. I generally don't really care for warm desserts with ice cream but this one just works. Writing this post is making me salivate lol. Their staffs are very attentive and friendly, the prices are standard, spacious restaurant and they have a parking lot in the back. I have wanted to go to this restaurant for years. Drive by it all the time and tonight we finally went! What a gem- 5 stars are not enough!! Divino is a small restaurant in Belmont that has excellent food, ambiance and stellar service. We went with another couple and had such a wonderful evening. I started with the beet salad and hubby had the onion soup. Both were delicious! For my main, I had the swordfish as the server recommended it. I rarely order swordfish in a restaurant and I was a bit apprehensive. What a wonderful surprise! It was moist, flavorful and very fresh. Loved every bite. Hubby had the tagliatelle that was stuffed with veal in a cream sauce. He ate every bite. For dessert we shared the Apple puff pastry which was heavenly. Our servers were wonderful and the room was perfect. We could talk easily. In fact we talked so long, we closed the place down. Divino is our new favorite restaurant and we will definitely be back!! We haven't eaten here in ages when we use to live in Belmont. We booked our reservation through open table. Parking is in the back and when we walked in we were warmly greeted and seated. The waitress and waiters were extra nice to our kids. Since it was Friday I couldn't get any meat so I got a nice Caesar salad with the spinach raviolis which was delicious. My wife got the pasta and clams and enjoyed that as well. The kids had the spaghetti and meat balls. One thing to note was the calamari is made differently. It is not breaded so the kids didn't want to eat so more for my wife and me. We enjoyed our visit and our food. We would recommend this place any day. read more

Expansive menu of their Italian specialties. From the moment we sat down, bread and water were constantly refilled and we never felt neglected. I'm a sucker for good bread and theirs was freshly warm and thick. We ordered 2 appetizers: the meatballs and mozzarella/prosciutto/arugula salad. The meatballs were so juicy- they just fell apart when taking a bite in the best way. I was in the mood for a light dinner and ordered the pesto fettuccine. It was delicious! The star of the dinner was definitely the lasagna. It was rich and decadent. The owner knows a lot about neighborhood restaurants. From what I've researched, he owned and continues to help out at Bacco in Noe Valley. Then in 2006, he decided to open Divino in Belmont. When I entered the nondescript front door, the decor is made up of deep gold with charcoal gray accents. It's not the type of interior that makes much of an impression, but the food does! I had Bolognese sauce with the pappardelle. Its deep rich sauce and flecks of meat and mushrooms made it impossible even for my wife who doesn't like mushrooms to eat every bite. I've also ordered the meatballs, which he attributes to his mother, are some of the best I've had outside my wife's homemade. The juicy meatballs are cooked in a thick, bright red sauce that has a sweet, savory flavor. The grilled calamari salad features grilled squid surrounding cannellini beans. The beans have a custardlike softness, are infused with a hint of rosemary and are covered with a pile of arugula leaves glistening in a tangy vinaigrette. The menu also includes six or seven specials, such as a sauteed Petrale sole on a butter sauce with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables like Brussels sprouts and corn. From the Caesar salad to the gelato, the food satisfied, and it made me wish that something this good would open in Redwood City (my neighborhood). read more

My retirement party was at Divino on January 30, 2025. There were around 40 people in attendance and the staff was amazing. They were prompt, courteous, professional, and helped ensure we had a wonderful event. The wines that were served were excellent, and everyone remarked on them. There were bountiful appetizers, followed by a delicious dinner with several options and dessert. The delicious food was served quickly so that everyone could eat at the same time, without delays. Carlos, the owner, checked in from time to time to ensure everything was running smoothly and to ask if we needed anything. The room is perfect for any event and holds up to 60 people so there's plenty of room to move around and be comfortable. It is decorated to create just the right ambience. There was a large, beautiful flower arrangement in the room adding to the ambience. Carlos met with us prior to the event to discuss options for a menu and to make other very helpful suggestions. I would highly recommend this restaurant, whether just for a lunch or dinner or a large event. It was the perfect place for my party, and we felt very well-taken care of. You will love it! read more
