I was referred to UENO Clinic by my general dentist, One Dental on Foxworthy, because I needed all…read morefour wisdom teeth removed and a dental implant. ** I want to preface, I have MAD ANXIETY with all dentists appts. CONSULTATION Honestly wasn't sure if I wanted to do it in multiple procedures or just get it all over with... I went in open minded. The consultation itself was quick & thorough. Watched about a 10 min vid on pros and cons of wisdom tooth extraction, had X-rays taken, and then met with Dr. Reed Rayher and the team. Dr. Rayher was super chill and easy to talk to. He made a few recommendations, answered my questions. I felt comfortable enough to say, "Just knock me out and do everything at once." He also talked to me about using a healing treatment made from my own blood (I have absolutely no idea what the technical name is, so don't quote me ), but it's placed into the extraction sites to help promote healing. My response? "Fk yeah." Anything to recover faster. Now... the one major hiccup. I had planned everything around this surgery.. time off work, my ride, meal prepped, prescription picked up, and even started the required antibiotics and diazepam before the procedure. Then, about three hours before my appointment, I got the call that it had to be canceled because Dr. Rayher was sick. I was fuming. I worked up all the nerves for the procedure just for it to not work out. I definitely cussed up a storm on the phone w/ nurse/clinician. While apologizing for my foul language because I knew it wasn't their fault. Just really an unfortunate situation. Despite that, the team did everything they could to make it right. They got me rescheduled as quickly and the nurse/clinical even took the time to talk with me about the antibiotics that was making me feel awful. They helped switch me to a different antibiotic (thank you... I really hate amoxicillin). && incredibly thoughtful gesture, they also comped my sedation because of the cancellation. They absolutely didn't have to do that, but it meant a lot and showed they genuinely cared about the inconvenience I experienced. Fast forward two weeks... procedure day finally arrived. Same 9 yards. Prepped on the prescription medicine, my ride, meal prep. By the time I got there, the diazepam had already kicked in... I wish I remembered (or asked ) everyone's names because every single person I interacted with was incredibly kind. The assistant who brought me back.. so sweet. Got me hooked up to all the monitors, and even brought me a warm blanket. One thing you probably don't even realize made a huge difference: you narrated everything you were doing. As someone with dental anxiety, hearing "I'm putting this here..." or "I'm going to hook this up next..." kept me from getting startled. That simple communication helped me more than you know. Then Dr. Rayher came in with another staff member.. so I knew it was about to start and my anxiety once again was through the roof cause I know it was about to begin. Not to mention once the sedation started... ive never done this sort of thing. I was definitely panicking... to the point where at one point, I actually pulled my oxygen mask off. I WANTED OUT of that chair. ‍ Whoever gently rubbed my forehead and reassured me--thank you. (I think he mentioned dirt bikes at one point? ). Seriously. That small act of kindness grounded me so much in that moment. Dr. Rayher also continued talking me through the sedation process instead of just doing everything in silence. Again, as someone with anxiety, hearing what was happening made such a difference. Finally, to the person who wheeled me out afterward and patiently went over all of my post-op instructions with me: thank you. Waking up loopy wasn't super fun but your warmth, patience, and friendly voice made the experience so much easier. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. I'm now recovering from having all four wisdom teeth removed and a dental implant placed, and so far everything has been going really well. I have my 1 week follow-up and my 3 month implant check coming up. This time im looking forward to it while being coherent. If you're fortunate enough to get referred here, I would absolutely recommend UENO Clinic and Dr. Reed Rayher without hesitation. 10/10 experience. Thank you to the entire team for taking such great care of me.

Communication was lacking throughout the entire process. I repeatedly asked when I would be able to…read morespeak with a doctor because I had questions and concerns, but that opportunity never seemed to come. Appointments felt rushed, and I left without the information I was seeking. The assistants were kind and professional, but I expected more direct communication and involvement from the doctor overseeing my care. At one visit, I was told a doctor would be examining me, but that never happened. For the amount charged, I expected a much higher level of patient care, communication, and attention. Patients should feel informed, heard, and able to have their questions answered. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I would not return and would not recommend this practice based on the lack of communication and overall patient experience.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive phone calls from him the day after my tooth extraction and the completion of the Implant. He called to ensure everything was going well. His assistants are equally professional. Every step of the treatment was clearly explained. The front desk staff was kind and welcoming. Appointments were on time. To sum up, I am grateful for the excellent care and would highly recommend his practice.

I generally avoid leaving negative reviews for local businesses, but I felt a responsibility to…read moreshare my experience so others can make informed decisions. While Dr. Low may be a skilled periodontist, I will not be returning to this practice for several reasons. First, the billing department's timing cost me financially. I had an expensive deep cleaning done at the end of the year and repeatedly asked to pay before December 31st so I could utilize my remaining FSA funds. They insisted they would mail the bill, but didn't send it until the following year. Because of this delay, I lost my previous year's FSA funds and was forced to pay out-of-pocket the next year when my new FSA cap was exceeded. Second, this is minor, and kinda funny. The front desk vibe is a bit much. The young staff wears heavy makeup and super thick, caterpillar-like fake eyelashes, and they match that dolled up look with a snob attitude. They talk down to you, lack basic conversation skills, and just mindlessly repeat "no worries" to almost anything you say. The main reason I am not returning, however, is a complete loss of TRUST. I spent $500+ for consult and xrays at this office just so Dr. E. Low (younger guy) can tell me that I need a highly invasive, expensive oral surgery. Then, I was immediately ushered to a finance coordinator to sign consent and put money down. It felt excessive (GREED) and extreme, I sought a second and third opinion, both of which confirmed that a far less invasive, or even over-the-counter, treatment should be tried first. By the way, 1.5 years later, my gum situation have improved with the less invasive and over-the-counter solutions recommended.

I took oral sedation and woke up at home with just a few stitches -- smooth and stress-free recovery. It's been about six weeks, and the results look completely natural. I…read morewent to go see Dr. Temlock at Nashville Periodontal Group in his Nashville, TN office (they have a Brentwood, TN location too) after I went to another local periodontist that my general dentist referred me to. The experience with the other Periodontist felt rushed, uninspiring, and it felt like they just wanted my money and required a deposit to schedule my surgery after 15 minutes with the staff and maybe 5 minutes with the doctor. So, I wanted a second opinion, and I am so happy I did! First, I want to talk about Dr. Temlock. He spent an entire hour with me at my initial consultation, and he really took the time to explain everything to me in terms that I could understand. I've never seen a doctor or dentist spend that much time with me! His chair-side manner was a 10/10, and I felt totally educated about my periodontal issue. He was there to answer all my questions, and he helped guide me through the anticipated surgery so I could make the right decision for MYSELF! He was so kind, patient, and genuine. This was almost the exact opposite of what occurred at the first periodontist's office. Second, his staff was super nice, and they helped me out every step of the way regarding the logistics. They need to be mentioned here too because they were so awesome too! I was very anxious about my surgery, but Dr. Temlock's knowledge, skills, confidence, and experience really put me at ease. I chose to be sedated for my procedure (and this was the best money I ever spent throughout the whole situation!), and I do not remember anything! I needed a really bad/cracked tooth removed, a sinus lift, and bone graft so I could get a dental implant. Sounds scary, right!?! Not with Dr. Temlock and Nashville Periodontal Group's staff! Everything went just as he explained it at the consult. He even called me the next day to ask how I was doing and answer my questions. I've couldn't believe the doctor actually called me instead of the nurse! Dr. Temlock really does care about his patients, and he even gave me his phone number in case I had any more questions over the weekend. Lastly, I returned to the office for my follow-up appointment about 3 weeks after the surgery, and Dr. Temlock saw me, took time to personally evaluate the surgical area, and answered all my questions again. I thought I was only going to see the assistant/nurse from Nashville Periodontal Group that day, but Dr. Temlock was the one who entered the room. I couldn't believe it! Dr. Temlock reassured me that I was healing great and right on schedule, and Dr. Temlock explained that everything was on course which helped calm down my anxiety too. Overall, I cannot thank Dr. Temlock and the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group enough! Everyone is so professional and understanding. From the first time I met Dr. Temlock through the last goodbye, I cannot thank him enough. Now that everything major is complete, I am going to get my teeth cleaned with Dr. Temlock's hygienists and alternate between my dentist's office and Nashville Periodontal Group. The whole team at Nashville Periodontal Group are going to make sure they keep a close eye on all my teeth and gums into the future, so I know I am in good hands as Dr. Temlock and all the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group will continue to monitor the rest of my teeth and gums to hopefully minimize and prevent any serious issues in the future. After my experience with Dr. Temlock and Nashville Periodontal Group, I now know that my voice counts and my concerns will be addressed with professionalism, respect, empathy, and truly individualized to my specific needs. I cannot say thank you enough to Dr. Temlock and the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group, and my only advice is that anyone out there needing Periodontal or Dental Implant Surgery visit Dr. Temlock before making any decisions. I guarantee you will be astonished about how different the patient experience can be when compared to other providers!

I was strongly advised by him to get reduction surgery and was kind of on the fence about it. I found another dentist a month later who made this very same process literally five times less tense and said that my gums weren't nearly as bad and surgery was optional. Another appointment my cousin attended, the dentist was yelling at one of his assistants and decided to cancel his follow up ones. I would say the only positive that came out of that was this kind older Vietnamese DA/receptionist who walked us downstairs back to the parking lot.
