We've been part-time residents nearby for years now, and never gotten to visit the Tavern, for various reasons. We finally stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night, being too lazy to cook or drive too far. The bar was busy, prime- time for sports watching and pre-St. Patty's imbibing. We ordered some brews from Catskill Brewery and Goose Island, and then ordered some buffalo wings and a veggie lovers pizza to share. Wings were delicious, with a moderate level of spiciness, and a hint of smokiness and sweetness. They were a perfect match for the celery sticks and blue cheese dressing. The pizza came out piping hot, topped with a ton of veggies (broccoli, olives, onion, mushrooms). Pretty decent pie, and we even had leftovers to take home. Service was very friendly and attentive. I do really like this place. There aren't a lot of places to eat dinner within a ten mile radius of this place, especially on Tuesdays-Thursday in off season when many places are closed. This place seems to always be open. While the menu is somewhat on the limited side, I've never been disappointed (if you are there and it is a pizza night, the garlic knots are amazing) and the staff are usually accommodating and nice unless they are crazy busy and they are in constant scramble mode. A lot of "regulars" come to this bar and hang out at the bar and drink just like in the movies. It's kind of a heartwarming thing to see, even though I am not a participant in that. Over the last year they seem to have taken on more hot staff, which in my view is always a nice side benefit (I mean, all things being equal it's better to have hotties pretending to be nice to you for a better tip, than, well, you know, having non-hotties serving you; although just to add, non-hotties can be very nice and pleasant to interact with). read more

I loved this little diamond in the rough. From the outside, you question what you're walking into, but surprisingly, it was an adorable little pub, with table seating. It was neat and very clean (bathroom included!), and the staff was super sweet and very attentive! The food was just delicious! Typical pub fare, but some of the best wings I've had! An accidental find today, owing to the very nice Prattsville Diner's unexpected mid-day closed sign. But hey, what a find! My wife and I had what were the best burgers in recent memory. Hands down my favorite bar. Grew up in windham and in high school my friends and I always went here on Tuesdays for the wings. As we got older and became of age it was our favorite place to go and get a drink. You always knew you were getting good food and cold beer and it was impossible to have a bad time, even after years away at college the bartenders still remember us. Prattsville tavern is awesome. After the flood, this place was rebuilt and looks amazing. I spent a month in this small town for an emergency mission and would always go to this place for food and drinks. The burgers are delicious, the drinks are cheap and the crowd is fun. I went to order take out for my boyfriend and I. He told me I would be waiting long but surprisingly it came out pretty quick. I checked Quick to see if my order was right (bacon cheeseburger and a chicken sandwich both with fries) the chicken sandwich had chips and I asked the bartender where the fries were. She gave me attitude and said "well I'll just make fries then" I was already in a rush and said forget it. By the time I got home and my boyfriend looked at his burger and the fries were RAW!! So immediately went back and showed the manager/cook. All he did was give me my money back and say "sorry" no explanation or concern. Terrible service. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. Our gang selected this tavern last evening as a place to meet for dinner and drinks instead of driving the additional 10 miles into windham. My expections were quite low; however once I got over a little disappointment regarding the noise and the crowd I was simply delighted! There were 11 of us and we ordered a range of food from a somewhat limited menu. There was not one disappointed face in the crowd. The hamburgers, steaks were cooked to perfection, the steak sandwiches, and other assorted sandwiches came to the table in a timely fashion as ordered. The waitress doubled as bartenders yet always stopped by to see that all was ok. Will definitely return as I can't stop thinking of my grilled cheese and bacon on rye! read more

Best place ever, my girlfriend is a local from a neighboring town and took me to go eat their stuffed pizza. It was by far the best stuffed pizza I ever had, Its a family business and you can tell that everyone there is really friendly and hospitable.
