Recently, my dad brought his 2005 Tundra truck in for oil changes on transmission, differential, break fluid and power steering. They spotted bad break rotors in the front and fixed it which stopped the steering wheel vibration at the speed of 50-60 mph! Total price was reasonable. Based on my only visit, this place receives five stars from me. Tin quoted me a price for both my front and back brakes that was at least $100.00 cheaper than any other place I called. I also needed four new tires, and asked for a quote for those as well. He told me that he would provide me with a price, but he wasn't a tire dealer, and that his price probably wouldn't be as good as I could get somewhere else. I really appreciated his honesty. His price was higher than some of the larger tire dealers, so I didn't buy them from him, but I didn't receive any kind of hard sell from him at all. I am extremely happy with the service I got from Precise Auto Care and Tin. Went here to replace the pads on my rear brakes, inspect the front suspension, and perform the 90 k mile service. There were a few opportunities for Tin to do unnecessary work such as replacing the front suspension control arm, resurfacing the rear brake rotor and even replacing the air filter. For each of these cases, Tin recommended waiting. It seems to me most other shops would have taken advantage of all three. Tin did not and has earned my trust. Man these guys were awesome. The main guy was very helpful and had a great attitude. I recently purchased a used car that needed an inspection. The guy working there was able to give me a diagnostic and he was friendly about it. Instead of just telling me the cables were wearing down or the brake pads are need changing he asked me to come and look and showed me what was wrong. After changing the brake pads he showed me how thin it was. I'm not a car person but I'm impressed by how through and sincere they were. Their prices seemed very reasonable as well. I came here today based on the reviews and proximity from my house. I've been to a number of different places for oil changes and I can say that this place is A-OK. I was able to arrive here on a Wednesday afternoon and they took me in immediately. It took about 20 minutes. They didn't do a full inspection of my car but did check things like my headlights and tire pressure. They overstated my next oil change sticker by about 150 miles; my car has high mileage and I try to change exactly every 3000 or less, so I do like it if they're exactly on point when they put the new oil change sticker on my window. I'm also a bit surprised they didn't mention about fixing the slight oil leak I have underneath. I know it's there and noticeable, but they didn't say anything at all, although the staff was pretty nice. Things to note: For just a standard oil change, it was about $30. The type of oil they have is regular Pennzoil, so don't come here expecting synthetic, you should bring your own (I know I wish I did but I change my oil every 3000 or less, so I wasn't as worried). Their set up at their shop can service up to 2 cars at a time for oil changes. read more

This is a long overdue review. We have been coming here for about three years now. Tin is wonderful! We have on two different occasions with both our cars had our car battery die on us. Of course it would happen over the weekend or New Year's weekend. Both times we left our cars in their lot and called in to let them know we left our car there for him to take care of. If I have to take my 05 Honda CR-v here, I usually call in the morning before I go to let them know I'm coming in or to see how busy the day's schedule is and if they could fit me in. I got a full tune-up, new tires and an oil change a few months ago and paid a fraction of the price that I estimated other shops would charge. I wasn't able to pick my car up before their shop closed and I needed to get it that night, so I asked them to just lock my key in the car and they obliged; picked it up that night. Awesome! Incredibly honest and good. Has given hope to my car. 2 visits so far, both spot on: 1. Coolant leaking issue. Another popular chain in the area just refilled the empty reservoir for $150 telling me to bring the car back if it leaks again. Well of course it leaked again as no fix was done! This time did my car a favor and took it here to Tom, who explained to me that they would first make sure that reservoir does not have crack/holes. Gave me a free ride home too - Bonus!! They found a tiny hole in the reservoir, got a new one from the dealer, replaced it, and refilled coolant. All for just $140. The car is perfect now. Never going back to the previous auto (mis)care. 2. Brake lights came on. Didn't have to think twice where to take my car. Took it to Precise, told Tom about it. He just poured some brake fluid in and I was out in 3 mins. This guy knows what he is doing. Good to know things: - The locality is a little shady. I would not walk around there all alone. - It is a family business with just 3 people. Though very skilled, it could take more time than some other places as yelp has led to many people discovering this gem. - Go here if you want quality. Eventually they could save you time too as you wouldn't need to bring back your car again and again for same problem. - Well it is a spa for my car. I don't mind giving my car a day off. - They do drop you off, but I wish they picked up too after the car was ready. I had to take the bus to ElCamino/Lafayette and then had to walk 20 mins to get there. If you really need pick up, call, ask, and confirm if they would. I went to Precise Auto Care because I read all the rave reviews on Yelp, and I was not disappointed! Today was my first trip there. I needed to get my serpentine belt replaced, and someone had also suggested that I get my belt tensioner replaced since I've never replaced it and there were 100k+ miles on my car. Making the appointment was quick and easy. The person on the phone was friendly, and he said they'd look at the tensioner to see if it needed to be changed or not. I ended up waiting at the shop, though my service would take several hours, because I didn't have a ride. Good news is that they have free wireless! If I'd known that, I would have been able to work from there. The service went faster than I expected. And they went above and beyond what they needed to! I've been having problems with my shifter for several years now. My mom took it in to see what was wrong, and they said it would cost a thousand dollars to fix. While changing my belt, the service person at Precise Auto Care noticed my shifter problems and greased my shifter for me. He also changed my rear brakelight bulb--all for no extra charge! They told me that the grease for the shifter would work for a while, but if I wanted to get it permanently fixed, I would need to change a small part that would cost $60. I was very happy to hear this. Also, before coming here, I checked a bunch of other places on Yelp, asking for quotes, and this was the cheapest. So not only do they do a great job, but they provide the most affordable prices, too! I am so, so satisfied with my service at Precise Auto Care. I only wish I had found them earlier. read more

Finally found an honest mechanic! Just went in today and they told me and showed me that my rear brake pads didn't need replacing yet. The reason I thought they did was because the guys at independence honda/acura in mtn view told me i needed to replace them. They also tried to help look at a power steering leak I have. So far Tin and his team are 3 for 3 in fixing various issues with our cars. Two cars with leaks, one with a leaking valve cover and another with cooler line, as well as A/C work and I can happily say that his work is very good and reasonably priced. I've found that it's best to call him and check his workload/availability but I've never had any issues here. I appreciate that he's very honest: he told me that my Jeep has a two piece main seal that was leaking slightly and that he doesn't attempt to fix them as he can't guarantee that it won't leak afterwards. Most mechanics would happily take your money regardless! To boot, he's an ASE master mechanic so he knows his stuff. read more

Tin, Tom and Viet are good honest guys who are the most reasonably priced. I trust these guys with all me cars. They turned my rotors on my Lexus IS 300 using the same machine toyota uses. They also helped me avoid buying a damaged 4runner that the owner didn't know about. They showed me what to look for. Then, they found a small oil leak, rear main seal leak, on the Miata I ended up buying which helped in negotiating the price. Oil changes are very affordable. My car's tire pressure light was on for about a week so I needed to go somewhere to see if there was a nail embedded in the tire or at least check the pressure. I called Precise Auto Care and the owner was super nice and said to come in a few hours so he can check it.
