They will try to ruin your car. I went here for the first time for an oil change on June 23, 2023. Halfway through, the guy comes out with my supposed dirty air cabin filter and asked if I wanted a new one. I declined as we take care of that ourselves, and he went back rather upset. After I paid and started driving off, there was a new rattling noise that hadn't been there before. I immediately went to different mechanic who checked it out and said that something from the air filter must have fallen in when the other guy took it out to show me, but he couldn't reach it and I'd have to come back. I had him check everything else they did - like tire pressure and guess what? Three of four tires were overfilled. My husband was able to take out what was in the fan and causing the rattling noise. Drumroll please......a 1inch nut. Imagine that! I wonder how that got in there. But wait, there's more! I went back to the website because it had the "AAA Approved" logo on their contact us page, so I called AAA. Guess what! AAA does NOT have them on their approved list for mechanics, towing or any service. (This might change once they get their visit from the AAA field agent.) I took my car in for a tuneup and to fix the brakes. The exceptionally helpful service tech told me that I wasn't due for a tuneup for another 20k miles (other garages have just done the work whether it was needed or not). Also, instead of doing a complete brake job, they just replaced some old brake fluid which was jamming the float in the master cylinder. They also pro-actively fixed a vibrating heat shield and fixed some lights that were intermittently out. By doing a good job on the stuff that needed to get done AND not doing un-necessary repairs...they've gone a great way to establish trust. This was a great first visit. My wife has raved about them and I can see why. BTW, the name is Precision Automotive of Medfield just to avoid confusion with other places. read more

I have had good experiences with Precision in the past for repairs. This review is regarding the wash and detail help, who was beyond rude. Upon politely asking for assistance when he has a moment, he told me I'd just have to wait and would be waiting a long time. He went on to berate me for needing assistance. This is the ONLY place I will take my car for any kind of service. I drive out of my way for oil changes because I have the highest regard and trust for Precision Automotive. I have been coming here for almost 15 years, and have never found them to be anything but honest, friendly, and dependable. There is no stereotype here of the mechanic trying to fix anything and everything - the owner/manager Jim tells you exactly what needs to be done, and is just as comfortable telling you what does NOT need to be done, even if you may initially think it does. The quality of the work is impressive, and the prices are competitive with both bigger auto chains/dealerships and local independent shops. The turnaround time is quick without feeling like anything was rushed. They also give a free loaner car out if they need your car for longer than you're willing to wait for it. I have been using Jim at Precision for years and I find his work to be outstanding, he is extremely trustworthy and he and his associates are a pleasure to do business with. They are very flexible, they do whatever is necessary to assist the customer. We've been using Precision Automotive for more than 15 years and have never been disappointed with the workmanship on our Hondas. This is a full service repair facility located on rte 109 in Medfield. Jim the owner/manager gives very accurate estimates of what the costs will be, and has never added extra costs. If during repairs they find other potential problems, he'll call to get our approval first if the repairs are needed, or advise if repairs can wait until the next service interval. We fully trust what they advise. For older cars like ours, they use quality after market parts, not junkyard or questionable source materials. Another great feature is that they provide "loaner" cars, so if your car's repairs will take more than a few hours, you can arrange to use one of their cars for the day, at no added expense! Occasionally there are discount coupons for oil changes, brakes etc on their website. Overall, we give them a 5 star rating for quality of work, timely repairs, and being trustworthy. read more
