Clean and extremely friendly. They have never tried to sell me anything I don't need. If it's something still under warranty they tell me. They cost less than the dealership. This is my second consecutive bad experience with these guys. I can not emphasize enough how far you should stay away. Most recently, arrived at 3:15 for a vehicle inspection and was told they were done for the day. I inquired why and was told they were too busy with repairs. I asked if the State allows this, and that I thought they had to have an inspection bay opened during inspection hours. They gave in and did the inspection, but while I was waiting, Randy, the should-have-retired long ago owner, came at me and accused me of threatening his workers, which absolutely never happened. Also, while I was waiting, with no other vehicles in line, two more inspection customers were turned away. My previous experience was last winter when I wanted my already mounted on wheels snow tires swapped onto my car. Basically the same level of effort as a tire rotation. The thieves wanted $175. I left and had it done at a tire shop for $60. Randy is an embarrassment. Rude beyond belief despite his outward appearance. I'm done. No repairs, no gas, no propane, no inspections. I suggest you do the same. read more

firstly I'd like to start off with saying if I could give zero stars I would. Scott was completely rude and he kept trying to force me to buy stuff I didn't need, I specifically requested an oil change and inspection but he kept insisting I needed all new breaks when I JUST GOT THEM REPLACED!! Our 3500 Ram truck broke down nearby, and Randy's could put us back on the road fast! Over a weekend, & getting parts, but totally worth it. All the Ram dealers nearby were 2 weeks to 2 months out. Kinda a long hotel stay... The people were so helpful & friendly. I scheduled an apt for a tire issue about 10 days ago. I set the expectation that I can't leave the car there all day because of my job and I have 3 kids under 5. I was told it might take an hour to an hour and a half to diagnose the issue. This was all communicated when I booked the appointment. Today was the schedule appointment. After waiting for 2.5 hours I checked and was told they forgot about me. At 3.5 hours I was told I needed new tires. I'm not giving them any more of my time or business, so had them put my spare on. After 4 hours I got my car back. I didn't feel like a valued customer in any way at all. I live in Medfield. Won't be recommending anyone over to Randy's. read more

I had two cars due for state inspection. To avoid surprises, I always do a pre-check for the obvious that can fail an inspection i.e. brake lights, high beams, low beams, flashers, wipers, directional lights. After reading positive Yelp reviews, I contacted Randy's Automotive and I dropped my car first for inspection which passed. We then dropped my daughter's car and received a text shortly after "Your car is ready, however, your passenger side brake light is out, let us know if you want it replaced so that you pass inspection." She texted back, "We're minutes away, we will be there soon." When we arrived, 8 minutes later, the service manager said, "We went ahead and replaced the light or your car wouldn't have passed, I hope it's okay we replaced it without your agreement, if not it's free." I said, "Well, that's odd because I checked all the lights before we dropped it off and they were working fine". The service manager's demeanor changed, he said, "Then we won't charge you"... we paid the inspection fee and left. But yet facts remain.... We were less than 10 minutes from the garage and the light was already replaced? It's free if we aren't happy they replaced it? Then, when we arrived home I walked to the back of the car to check the brake light for any sign that it had been touched and found a leaf wedged under the edge of the lens cover. To replace a brake light, this entire casing is removed, a leaf wouldn't still be wedged under it if it had been touched. Like most, I often gravitate to Yelp for reviews, I hope others find this helpful. read more

I scheduled my appointment for oil changed and alignment on their site, but when I arrived, the clerk could not find any tracks of my appointment. The price is higher than any dealer can take. They included with additional charge clean-up interior and even to wash window but did nothing. Besides this, on the second day after service the light shows me to check tires pressure. Three wheels were ok, but the right rear one the pressure was 50 psi!! LK read more

My daughter's Honda Fit had an a/c compressor that was leaking and worn out front brakes. Brought it in Friday afternoon and Randy had the front brakes and a/c all fixed by noon Monday, faster and at a price that was far more reasonable than the Honda dealer had quoted. The tech staff was nice but the they charge 100 percent markup or more on work. I had two independent reviewers for my bill and found they marked up the part by twice the cost. Just beware and shop around if you can FYI - they stated that they had a price in mind and they were going to get there via charging me more for the part or labor. Friendly service, thorough vehicle inspection. That's the only positive. They just charged me nearly 2X what the dealership would charge. When mentioning how outrageous the price was, i was offered coupons that reduced the price by 5%. I'm in shock honestly. I will never make this mistake again. I would not trust Randy's. Brought car in for general maintenance and they tried to upsell on different repairs that weren't needed. The quote came in quite high, I compared and could have saved $ at other places but decided I wanted work done quick so left it at Randy's. Immediately had issues with the repairs and dealt with some rude employees. I paid for services with a new credit card that I had not used elsewhere yet and then today I got a fraud alert for a $1k purchase on SeatGeek, one of their employees took my card info or they did not properly dispose of my payment info. They are very thorough in their explanation of what's wrong (or not wrong) with my car. I feel they are very honest and have told me when things aren't necessary for safety and what really needs to be done. Overall my car is in good health and it's just been keeping up with the wear and tear of driving but whenever I know I need something done or I'm worried about something with my car, I bring it to Randy's and trust they are providing me with honest answers and quality service! Not go here for the automotive service, more so for the gas, Irving Gas. I am Loyal Rewards card holder, so I get a discount on gas through Irving after a certain amount of gallons of gas. Plus, this an "on the way" to work or home for me which makes it easy. If ever I do have car concerns, I wouldn't hesitate to seek their services, the garage looks very productive as I don't see many of the same cars on the lot. The prices for gas here is the similar to the area's average, compared to a service station not far from this one. For the few times I have gone inside, the staff seem very friendly and helpful, in fact, that's how I became a rewards card holder. A suggestion of the cashier there. read more

I am now done with Randy's after another bad experience -- they refused to break down their proposed repair cost into parts and labor! What kind of business does that? I ended up getting the exact same service done at a shop down the road in Millis for less than HALF the price! If you like leather covered chairs in the waiting room with "free" snacks and coffee and high speed internet, this is your place. But believe me, it will cost you dearly. They tout the "3 year warranty" on their work but extended warranties are hugely profitable as no one bothers to keep track...in the industry it's called "breakage." I would recommend asking them the price WITHOUT the warranty and then ask them to break the cost into parts and labor, and see what you get. read more

NEVER GO HERE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. Asked for a Synthetic oil change as the manual of my car says, the dealership I got the car from says, and the damn oil cap says. PAID FOR A SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGE. A few months later I get another oil change (at a different shop) and the man tells me the reason my car has been acting weird and making weird noises is they put in conventional oil! I'm beyond upset. Randy's also told me I needed new break fluid and that it would cost close to $200 (and that it needed to be done ASAP). Checked with another shop and they told me my fluid was fine and had been recently replaced. Take your $70 somewhere that will actually do the job correctly. read more

i had been doing business with randys for years until my last trip. there repairs charges are out of sight. there gas prices are higher than anyone else in the area. i will never do business with them ever. looking a recent reviews a sticker is not brain surgery. easy drop off is not brain surgery. those customers that have doing business with randy have no idea of what they are paying. i will never do business with them for anything not gas, not sticker, and certainly not repairs. they have a large overhead and the customers have to pay it. i rest my case read more

My only complaint is the prices- I recently was quoted a very high price for work considered to be fairly routine (I think it was because of labor costs).
