I had Precision paint the complete exterior, as well as replace the exterior doors and windows, and replace the shingle roof. In all cases, the work has been exceptional; the on-site team thoughtful and courteous and helpful; the work speedy, tidy and reasonably-priced, in my judgment. I've hired other contractors in the area on 3-4 other occasions, and I'd recommend Precision above all of them. They were available on a reasonable schedule. They started a couple days later than expected due to some extra scaffolding that was required, but they finished on-time and I was happy that they did the job safely and with quality, instead of cutting a corner and trying to do the high parts on a ladder. There were some extra costs along the way for stucco repair and wood replacement, but I was already expecting that since the estimator David explained that during the removal of the old exterior they would need to repair or replace damaged wood and stucco in order for the Texcote to adhere properly. I could've gone a less expensive route with other bids I received, however I'm pleased I went with Precision instead. read more

We had a fantastic experience from the first contact with Ben our salesperson to Christian and his work crew on installation. And even though we all got COVID snack dab in the middle of the project, the Precision team worked on around those limitations. Ben was very patient and accommodating with the configuration, pricing and financing options. He waited and waited until our financing came through. Then Christian's team quickly made repairs on the roof to prep for the install and gave us a thorough training on the Envoy system. I got a bid for roofing in 2018. Took them 2 months to complete my roof once the project was started. Some rains came through and resulted in water damage costing $3,700 in repairs as tarps were not properly placed the day before the storm. Yesterday I noted the skylight was askew over my shower. We had high winds the night before. Upon closer inspection I noted that all skylights had NOT been secured but just resting in place. Run from this company! read more

Someone claiming to be from this business just robocalled me. I was a bit slow answering questions, and was reluctant to tell the truth. Scammers abound. He did not comfort me with his actions. Anytime anyone questions me about the particulars of my life, work done on my house, or presumes to tell me what SHOULD be done with my property, I get suspicious. The call wasn't super-pushy, but it was pretty sketch. I know it was a robocall because the guy who "called" me wasn't connected for a good 5 seconds after I said hi. He did say the name of the company. He may have introduced himself as Gary, but I might be misremembering. I was uncomfortable answering questions about my property because they were obviously leading questions that had nothing to do with my actual needs as a homeowner. For example, he said "So when you had your house painted, did you also have your windows replaced? What type of windows do you have, metal or wood?" I had not mentioned anything about windows. I also was asked if I had a particular brand of protective coat put on my paint. I said I didn't care, and the guy seemed to take offense. I'm not a contractor and I was just telling the truth. When it was obvious I didn't want to talk about my house with a complete stranger, he said "Go back to watching Oprah." 'Nuf said. read more

Asked if they could get the roof started and they could estimate the painting job when here. Said they had to come back to measure the roof (should have been done before estimating) and they needed to coordinate with another person or two to come with. Haven't heard from them again even though we have messaged them Several times. So if you want a flaky company.... Hire them. read more

PGC painted my home and R&R my front patio. First let me say, I have worked with several contractors and this company is the best ever! Being a senior single woman I have dealt with the worst rip-off contractors. PGC was professional, honest, and attentive from the start. I chose to have them use the Coolwall Tex-Cote even though it was a little more expensive. No regrets. Gustavo and his crew were so thorough, replacing rotted wood trim, priming ever inch of the house and then applying the beautiful Tex-Cote. We were having heat waves and my front room faces West. I would usually have to turn on the AC early in the afternoon. My home remained cool until late afternoon and sometimes I didn't need the AC at all! Excellent product and perfectly done. The R&R of my front patio went equally as well and looks fantastic. My house looks new and fresh and I love it more than before. read more

Be Warned! Although I'm fairly pleased with the product and the color, there were so many problems because of the terrible supervision and boss (Sean, Pierce, AJ Abdul) I can't recommend them. They have refused to come back and finish as promised..the trenched areas left un-stuccoed, they accidentally painted between the seams of the roll-up garage door, painted closed doors, trampled planted areas and the gutter and spilled paint and ruined some patio pavers...meanwhile Sean sat in his truck, leaving workers unsupervised or directed. Then he flat-out lied about what we'd agreed to do and NOT do, THEN they tried to charge me thousands more than the contract, refusing to provide a Change of Work Order (as per their own contract) or itemize the charges. So, "BUYER BEWARE" if you hire them: (1) Insist on everything in writing, (2) record every conversation (3) be ready to be your own supervisor, mostly in Spanish, (4) be prepared for them to increase the cost and harass you for money you never agreed to pay.(5) Have a male friend present as a witness. read more

This company has the worst customer service & follow up!!! They do not answer their phone, they don't return calls, they don't respond to text messages, NOTHING! Maybe they're a great company for new customers & new busine$$, but for existing customers & maintenance, they are horrible!!! 8 years ago we bought our home with the solar already installed & bought outright from this company by the previous owner. In Feb this year, we noticed our electric bill was higher than usual. It wasn't obvious to us but looking back over the months, we determined the solar was down since Sept 2021. We started to contact the company to come out & check what's going on. After a couple weeks of making several calls, leaving voicemail messages & sending text messages, we finally got in contact with them. They came out to take a look at our system & determined they needed to order a part. This was during the time of shipping delays & shortages of parts, etc... so they gave us a time frame of a few weeks. 2 months went by, so we decided to follow up on the status, again weeks of several calls, leaving voicemail messages, & sending text message, they finally returned our call. Said they'll look into the order of the part & called back saying there is a shortage so it'll take a while longer. Months had gone by at this point, we were now in the summer months, keep in mind our electricity bill is just going up as each day goes by. We called again to follow up, same frustrations & annoyance trying to get someone to talk to. Finally got in contact with someone in Sept, 7 months since we first contacted them, they sent someone out to look at our system & said the part they initially said we needed, was not the right call, so now they need to order us a new inverter! I was so upset & asked him "couldn't you have made that decision when you came out here in February!" First he said the new inverter would be here in a week, then he took a look at our system & said, it will take 6 weeks to come in. It's now been 3 months since they were last here. We have made several calls, left voicemail messages & sent several text messages & to this day, no one has contacted us!!! We did not choose this company, we're just stuck with them! We would not choose to work with them for any future projects! False promises, horrible customer service & ZERO follow up! Good luck to whoever works with them, pray you don't have any jobs that require their maintenance!!! read more

If I could give a one star I would. I thought we had a good experience with Precision General Contracting in 20/21 when we contracted them for work. However, unfortunately I never got on our roof to check that they actually did what they were hired for except for visible solar panels. We are in the process of selling our home and during the buyer's inspection several areas of concern were noted regarding the roofing. We had originally hired Precision to just install solar but realized the underlayment (on the home we purchased just a year before) was in need of replacement. We cancelled the original contract and rehired Precision two weeks later after we negotiated for them to repair just the underlayment on the side of the home where they proposed to install solar. As a result of the recent inspection, I reached out to Precision assuming their work was under warranty. They ONLY have the original canceled agreement on file. They claim they did not do any roofing and told me to have another company "come out and take care of the issues from the report you have provided for you to sell your house; we wish you the best of luck." I am blown away at the lack of professionalism. The lack of organization. The lack of interest in even reviewing their work despite email records and the original cancelation I provided them after their initial response. I would have recommended them until this experience. I have been receiving various calls from contractors for my home. I decided to pick up a call from 619-656-2563 with a Chula Vista area code. I was quickly asked if I wanted construction services and I said no. Was hassled over and over. I asked where he got my number and he said his boss had a list. He became rude until I said I wanted to have someone come to my house so that I could get his phone number. This led me here to 858-384-6464 Precision General Contracting ..... I would like the owner to please give me a pm and get me off of this list that gets me 15 calls a day for no reason! If you end up looking for solar and get on a solar call list, you are guaranteed to get multiple robo calls from Precision saying they are in your area and want to give you a quote for services. Even after asking them to remove you from their call list a couple months later you will get a call. If I need a contractor, I will find you. Any company that needs to use a robo call list to spam you for business is more times than not either shady or really hurting for business since they are not very good at what they do. I wouldn't have left this review if they had just left me off their call list but again today a call. read more

There comes a time when you need to entrust your most valuable asset to someone else and their word. This is one of those times, and one of the best decisions I've ever made. When I was first contacted by Precisions marketing team I was asked to give him a chance because they do it a bit differently. The best decisions I've made. Through the entire process from quote to contract to sign off I have been impressed and surprised. My intent was simply for roof and solar array. After reviewing the options with the rep and expressing my wishes for other improvements to my home, Precision developed a one-year plan that not only fit my needs but was lower than my original monthly budget. Even more impressive was the involvement of the owner himself making sure that I was satisfied and theat all my questions and needs were being fulfilled. Precision's efforts are more than to laudable and deserve a level of acclaim that I reserved only for the best of the best. I'd give 5 stars except 1) there was a minor issue with cleanup and 2) less than ideal workers work ethic...I wouldn't have allowed myself nor my employees (I am a business owner) as many breaks for as much time. I realize that there are labor laws regarding breaks and break time, nonetheless The project could have been done in a more time efficient manner saving labor costs if those breaks were monitored more exactingly and the time where actual work was happening was supervised better. read more

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this company. I signed a contract for building a balcony deck with the understanding that I needed a plan to submit to the HOA for approval. A month later I still didn't have a plan. One of their managers kept promising that "in a week" or "in a few days" or "by Monday" , etc. that I'd have a plan but it never materialized. 7 years ago a contractor poured a concrete patio in my backyard. The patio was poured at the end of the rainy season, so I didn't noticed until it rained again, that it was installed with a pitch towards the back of my house. This caused the patio to flood every time it rained. Precision General Contracting gave me a great quote and within three days of starting the job, my old patio was removed and poured correctly. PGC placed my solar panels in the wrong area of my roof. I have 13 panels but only 4 are working it's full capacity. The distributor has also reviewed my solar placement; they agree that the panels are incorrectly placed. PGC is now ignoring my calls. read more

Had to cancel a project due to a family issue. They wanted 5,250 dollars (25% of the contract) for no more then 6 man hrs of work. No materials were ordered it was all home visits and phone calls. I offered to pay them a fair hourly wage $50.00 per hour. They wouldn't have it. They threatened with a lien on my home and court. We settled for $4,000. Be careful and make sure you have no issues within 3 days of signing. read more

This morning I received a call from "Bob", a representative from Precision General Contracting, trying to sell me solar. HOW DO YOU STOP THESE PEOPLE? I contacted the FCC to follow up on the complaint I had filed recently, and to add this call to my complaint. These guys are tricky...they call from scammed numbers which complicates the FCC investigation process. Bob assured me...just as all the people before him...that I wouldn't receive anymore calls. After today's call to the FCC I'm ready for them, and hoping they call me again! read more

Strange company. I met one of their guys at a farmer's market in Scripps. Decided to give them a try after checking Yelp. They called when they said they would, and David Nolan came out for an estimate on replacing our sliders. Pretty straight forward. They said they would come over with the estimate to discuss the following week. We set a date and time. They called the day prior to confirm. Next day - no show. No call. I called them and they said that there was a mix up. No apology, I guess it happens pretty often. I told them I would look elsewhere. read more

I highly recommend PGC for solar! They installed a 9.6kw system on our roof a few months ago and our SDGE bill is now only $20 per month! The guys were all very nice, professional and accommodating. Although the process took a few months, they communicated the entire time to let us know where the project was and what to expect next. We're doing some other renovations to our house soon and when the time comes we plan to have them come back to do our windows, exterior painting, and patio cover. Thank you PGC! Precision replaced our roof and installed solar panels in three days. The large crew showed up on time, worked hard all day, and the final job looks great. We had a misunderstanding regarding a full house attic fan. They had installed an attic vent fan instead. At our request they removed the vent fan and reimbursed what we had paid for it. I feel they acted in good faith and did all they could to make this right. Our electric bills had been about $125.00 a month, and now has averaged about $15 a month with the solar, plus we'll get a nice tax credit for the solar! Thank you Precision! read more

Not impressed at all. Saw them at a home show for some windows. The sales person came over and started the conversation off with how much do you want to spend. I thought that was awkward. So I asked what do you offer. He said, whatever you want. So I said sell me and give me some prices. He said about $1500 per window... asked about a custom skylight, his response was we get it from home depot and its not worth our time. These guys strike me as a not very well oiled machine. And really are just in it for big money. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else that at least acts like they care. read more

We had our exterior painted by Precision, and we are definitely happy we chose them! They gave us a couple of options during the sales presentation, we opted to go for the more expensive lifetime exterior coating. All I can say is, you get what you pay for. The office calls us shortly thereafter on Saturday afternoon, sets up an appointment for Monday night, tells us we both have to be home, and then no one shows. Another company with catchy advertisement and runs away when I called their bluff. They advertised that "we'll beat any written estimate by 10%" in magazines and on their website. When I showed them a written estimate from a reputable company (A+ rating on BBB like them), which was a lot cheaper than theirs, their rep's reaction was "I bid you good luck". He couldn't get out of there fast enough. What a way to stand behind your advertisement. I got 2 other estimates that were also much cheaper than what I was presented. They are way overpriced and used catchy advertisement to get in the door. If you can't deliver, then don't advertise as such and waste people's time. read more

We can't say enough good things about Precision General's solar operation. The sales rep was knowledgeable and straightforward. We had seen several other bids, he recognized that and cut straight to the chase with a more than competitive bid. The only cheesy part of the pitch was the "can we put a sign in your yard" - what the hey, go ahead if you're saving me a couple grand! Signed the contract, a small down payment, and he was on his way. Now, other than a couple of phone calls regarding scheduling, Precision handled permits, etc. seamlessly. A few weeks later and we got a call with in install date that worked for us. Thursday morning (the agreed date) at 7:50 I noticed their trucks parked down the street (I had requested no earlier than 8:00), at 8 sharp the foreman rings the bell and they set up the jobsite. 4:00 he rings the bell and says they'll be back to finish in the morning. Same thing the next day - 8 on the nose and they finished the job, cleaned up, and gave me a primer on the few things I needed to know about the system. Now comes the good part. We've heard horror stories about actually getting the city (Carlsbad, notoriously difficult to deal with) and SDGE to sign off on the permit and officially allow us to flip the switch on the system. Somehow, Precision arranged the Carlsbad inspector to be at our house at - you guessed it - 8:00 A.M. that Monday! He quickly signed off on the system. Amazingly, later that day I got an email from SDGE telling us we're ready to go, I turn the switch and goodbye $300/month electric bill. Since the installation we've had several followup calls to ensure our satisfaction. Shortly after the install we had a huge windstorm and one of the panels was loose enough to flutter a little. I called the next morning and - yeah, 8:00 the next morning a 2 man crew arrived to tighten the whole system, just in case. Other than that, no issues whatsoever. I finally took down the sign, though... Overall amazing experience - as "hands off" as dealing with contractors can be! read more
