No idea where to begin, but 5 stars is not enough for Dr. McFate and his team. In October of 2020 I had a MMO with Dr. McFate and everything went great before and during surgery. What I didn't know (and of course the Dr. didn't know) at the time was that I am allergic to the antibiotic, Bactrin! 3 days post-op I started to experience burning of my skin and a rash all over. Of course, I was in pain and not very mobile because of my surgery, but I was concerned with why I was getting a rash all over my arms, legs, and chest. I also had a low grade fever. I thought maybe it was the narcotic I was prescribed for the pain, or a combination of all the meds. Since we were in the middle of a pandemic, I had my husband call 911 since he would not be able to take me to the emergency room (they were not allowing people in unless you were the patient - and I could barely move to get in the car anyway. My surgery was on a Thursday, it was now Saturday/Sunday (midnight or so), so I couldnt call Dr. McFate - so I thought. EMS shows up and checks me and all the meds I was taking and advised me to stop taking the narcotic as they thought it was causing my reaction and fever and said that it can cause a rash and elevate the body temp sometimes. They did not feel it was necessary to take me to the ER at the time, especially with COVID19 cases. They leave and I think we are good and I will be fine. THEN, about 10 mins later we get a call from "City of Austin", the lady on the phone tells me that they reviewed the notes from the EMS team, including the meds I was on, and were VERY concerned that what I was experiencing was more severe and they were sending EMS back to get me to take me to the hospital, and they did just that. I had to go to the ER by myself, without my husband, and it was terrible. They were moving me around, lifting me, poking me, examining me and decided to keep me overnight because they thought I was experiencing something called Steven Johnsons Syndrome (SJS), which is a terrible reaction to an antibiotic that causes rash, blistering and makes your skin fall off after a few days. I was not given any pain meds while there because they had to be sure of what was causing the rash and fever. I was 3 days post-op of a MMO (tummy tuck, muscle repair, lipo, and breast augmentation) and I was being moved around and was in so much pain, I just cried. I gave the ER doctor the name of my surgeon and his number and later found out that HE NEVER CALLED Dr. McFate who could have told him everything I had done and what meds I was on, etc. I stayed overnight and was released late the next day after they found out that I was having an allergic reaction to Bactrin (apparently, this is very common with this drug) but caught it in time to prevent a more severe reaction - like SJS. I was finally allowed to go home but had to wait for my husband to come get me - still in so much pain. After that visit to the hospital, things got worse and one of my breast incisions rejected the stitch. It opened it up, and I had to be restitched within two weeks. Then the other breast incision popped open and this went back and forth, nearly every other week for 3 and half months. I had to be restitched by Dr. McFate over and over again (my choice). He did everything right, ordered blood work 3 times to make sure there was no underlying issue that was preventing me from healing. The bloodwork came back clear every time! I had 2 COVID test done, both negative. I had the pockets flushed a couple of times which would seem to be working for a few days, then bam, opened again. Finally, he came in the room on one of my weekly visits and said - "I cannot keep doing this to you, it is time that we go back in the surgery room and remove the implants. We will soak them in antibiotic solution and really do a thorough examination of your pockets to make sure there is nothing in there. All of the test are coming back clear and there is no logical explanation as to why your skin will not grow back together" . He performed a revision surgery in February of 2021. He did not charge me for any surgical fees and from the very begining of my journey was honest, caring, and truly looked out for me and my well being. I really had the opportunity to bond with him and his staff. They all were so concerned for me, watched me cry through the pain and truly showed me that I was not just "another patient" to them, but that they really wanted to see me and my husband through this crazy time and they were determined to make it happen for me. He never gave up, was so positive the whole time which kept me and my husband positive which really helped us get through it. Turns out, E-coli founds its way into my breast pocket and I can't help but feel that it was during the visit to the ER when they had several medical interns moving me around and checking me while I was fresh out of surgery. I actually plan on returning to Dr. McFate in the near future for another procedure. read more

Five starts isn't enough of a rating for this facility; Dr. McFate and his team deserve 10+ stars in my opinion! There is absolutely no other Doctor to consider getting plastic surgery from. I met with 2 other surgeons/offices and am SO HAPPY I chose Dr. McFate. I had a breast reduction and I could not be more pleased with my results. Dr. McFate took time to answer every single of one of my questions. He never made me feel rushed during any appointment or that I was asking "silly" questions. He set clear expectations as to what I could expect and he did not disappoint. He's a very talent surgeon but he is also a genuinely nice guy! Sarah is the Practice Manager of the facility and she is GEM. She took time to go through additional questions I had regarding payments, recovery, and more. Anything that I needed from her (note for my gym, insurance Superbill requests, what to wear after the procedure etc.) was already handled before I could even ask. The woman thinks of everything before I even could! To say she has a pleasant demeanor is an understatement; she makes visiting the office enjoyable and not nerve racking at all. Shari, Natalie and Goldie were in the room the day I had my procedure. Shari greeted me when I arrived and instantly put me at ease as I was feeling quite anxious that day. Natalie walked me through how I'd be "put under"in EXTREME detail making me feel confident about what I was about to do. I only met Goldie for a few minutes before "taking my nap" but she had a big smile on her face and was telling me that I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Cindy is the awesome receptionist who would help me book appointments, call me with reminders and always greeted me with a smile when I arrived/left. Claire is the office medical assistant who helped get my vitals before/after my procedure and also help me when coming in for post op appointments. Some other great things to point out, the facility is exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The facility is also a grade A surgical facility so you don't have to have your procedures done elsewhere (and pay a hefty operating room fee!). You will not find a better staff than the folks at Precision Plastic Surgery. Every single person treated me with the utmost respect during any visit. I felt like each person I interacted with knew this was a big deal to me and wanted to make me feel as comfortable & educated about what I was going to do. The two other offices didn't have staff that could even come close. If you are considering getting any type of plastic surgery AT ALL I would highly recommend getting it done by Dr. McFate and his amazing team. You WILL NOT be disappointed. Like any military veteran, remaining in top physical shape is taught as a priority in which this attitude normally carries over into civilian life with outcomes of feeling and looking great. However, at some point your body is going to tell you that days of strict training and high physical activity are over. This is where my story begins as my body said "no more" in addition to the onset of unwanted changes after turning the big "40". I got my calf implants done by Dr. McFate, nothing but good things to say. From the get go I had such a great experience, I was planning on going to a few consultations with different doctors but I immediately clicked with Dr. McFate, he was so honest with what he thought would look good on me that he immediately made me feel so comfortable. His staff is pretty amazing as well, Cindy was so help full through out my recovery, she would answer any questions I had and help keep me calm (I did call a few times back to back but she was so patient every time). I recommend him one hundred percent, I am so happy with my results. About the procedure: 1-Got the procedure done in May and they still feel a bit tender (4 months ago) but not bad and no more pain. It does feel weird when I shave the part of the leg that has the implant but it's not bad and it is getting much better. 2-First two months my legs were pretty swollen and walking was not easy (was walking super slow) 3-I had to wear compression garments and that was the hardest part of the recovery because they are hard to put on and kinda painful specially when the legs are swollen. 4-I went through the whole recovery alone, I would recommend to have someone to help if possible but not completely necessary (we each know our strengths) 5-Had to keep my legs elevated for almost the full first two months, had to sleep in the couch because it was the only place I could sleep comfortably with my legs up. *hope this helps answer questions that someone might have. read more

First, let me say that Dr. McFate and his staff were all very nice and the location was great for me. I went in to get filler done by Dr. McFate under my eyes earlier this year and had bad results. When I informed him of the bags and bump, he acted like he couldn't see what the issue was. Under one eye, there is a small bag. Under the other, there is a bag and a big lump of filler over my cheek. When I spoke to the doctor, he made it seem like he knew what he was doing with this area. Obviously he doesn't because my results were terrible. I waited 4 weeks for swelling to go down and make sure that the lumps were actually filler and I made another appointment to get dissolver. My main issue is that Dr. McFate acted like he didn't see what the issues were. My eyes looked terrible and the giant lump of filler over my cheek was extremely noticeable. He put in some dissolver but I still have the bags. My under eyes are stills messed up and I have bags now which I didn't before. I had some hollowness and now I just ended up with bags! I had a consult with another doctor who said my bags looked bad, but it will be best to wait a while and then have an experienced injector fix the mistakes. I wouldn't waste your money and appearance here if you are coming in for filler. Just stick with someone who is experienced because it is a nightmare to fix these mistakes. read more
