I ended up paying a supposedly discounted total of $348.20 at Mike Tates 99 Auto for an oil change,…read morea tire rotation, and a battery installation and registration using a battery I provided. This turned out to be an incredibly frustrating and costly experience. The shop charged $221.94 just for the battery service, which was particularly disappointing considering a local O'Reilly's had offered to do the installation for free if I purchased the battery from them. The service was also plagued by unnecessary delays and oversight. I was forced to pay out-of-pocket for two unexpected Uber rides because the shop kept my vehicle overnight, claiming the mechanic lacked the "proprietary tool" required to remove the battery. In reality, the job only requires a standard 10mm socket for the terminals and a 13mm socket with an extension for the hold-down bolt. To make matters worse, despite paying for a tire rotation, the shop completely missed that two of the rotated tires were left low on pressure. I chose to support a neighborhood business, but this experience was a lesson well learned.

I waited in a clean and spacious waiting room (with free WiFi!), and was shocked at how quick the turnaround was. On my way out, I realized something was wrong with my tire pressure sensors. This damage was clearly not present before my visit. I took photos immediately and later obtained a repair estimate of approximately $300-400. Since then, I have made multiple attempts to resolve this issue. While the store initially responded and acknowledged my concern, they have failed to provide any resolution or compensation. Communication has been inconsistent, and more recently, they have completely stopped responding to my follow-ups. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but even with that, the issue remains unresolved and has been delayed for an extended period. It is very disappointing to see a company avoid accountability like this. I simply wanted a fair resolution for damage that occurred during their service. I would strongly recommend taking photos of your vehicle before any service here.
