My best friend and I each purchased reptiles from them over a month ago at the Tucson reptile show, she got a leopard tortoise and my boyfriend got me a Brazilian smooth snake. Both animals have remained in perfect health, eat great and have grown. I am far from an easy customer and Christian was informative, patient and kind. Very impressed. I have been coming to shop for a while. I have to say the staff has WONDERFUL customer service. It is One of the reasons i keep returning. I cant say the same about management. Which lacks customer service or making you feel welcome. I have also had my name on the list multiple times for a call back on special orders but have never received a call. I am disappointed with their overprice items as well. I have switched to getting my plants as such from Amazon. I am impressed with their displays. Most of their animals are well kept in proper habitats. It would be nice if the shop had ALL the products they display available for purchase. Seems every time I go I cant get something I'm interested in. I guess my review is more directed towards management's need for improvement on customer service skills. They cant even seem to treat a happy customer with respect. And to reevaluate price sheets for supplies. read more

Stopped in today passing through Mesa and saw this as we were on Baseline. Upon walking it, it did not have an unpleasant odor and the terrariums were incredibly clean and well kept. The giant lizard in the front (that's not for sale) has an absolutely beautiful terrarium. This is the kind of reptile store I want to see more of. Custom Creatures in Phoenix should learn a valuable lesson from you about how to properly house and care for reptiles. The fact that people will give an entire store an extremely low rating because of the comments of one employee is outright juvenile. Have you told the owner your concerns? This store consistently has new stock, a good selection of different animals and overall knowledgeable staff. The ARC guys are not nearly as friendly (almost to the point of ignoring you), almost every time I've called them they don't have that animal or carry that product, and don't carry live feeder rats under size small. Predators on the other hand has all sorts of live feeders and always offers to special order. Predator's is by far the best reptile specialty store in the East Valley (and probably the entire valley). read more

Always try and stop by when I am in the area. Pick up dubias which they almost always have and have always recognized they take really good care of their animals. They do not even compare to Petsmart and Petco they are in a whole different league.... read more

I bought my first Ball Python (Python regius) from Predator's Reptile, and it convinced me to never go there again. I had spent over two hours comparing their selection of snakes and choosing one with a temperament that was outgoing and inquisitive, which was perfect for my purposes. After being assured that all their snakes were captive bred and handled regularly, I placed that snake on hold for less than a week while I prepared it's new habitat. I come back to the store and present my receipt to the person manning the floor. I noticed some nervousness, but didn't think I had anything to do with it. After making me wait for 15 minutes, the owner comes out to tell me that they had "misplaced" my snake, and could I help them find it. They then presented me with a rack of 5-6 normal variety Ball Pythons, from which I was supposed to pick out the snake I had spent less than fifteen minutes handling. I gamely attempted to pick out the snake I had chosen from the nervous, wobbly snakes presented. The snake I took home was NOT captive bred, had not been handled regularly, and had obviously been mistreated by some idiot in his life. The late Dr. Wright (one of the most premier exotic vets that practiced in Arizona) seconded my opinion that the snake was either wild caught or ranched at some point in his life. Another annoyance came from this store's rudeness upon requesting frozen rats to feed. Instead of going to get the rats I asked for, I was given a lecture on the "natural and correct" way of feeding a snake, and how I was too naive to know better. Upon my continued insistence on frozen or prekilled, the salesperson rolled their eyes and sighed before trudging off to get them. Completely unprofessional and unethical practices ensure I will NEVER buy from Predator's again. read more

My daughters and I first met these gyes at the last reptile show in Phoenix were my girls NEEDED spured toirtuses after buying 2 of these toirtuses with in days my youngest girl desided hers wasnt as fun as her older sisters,so a trip to the store revieled and owner of the store that was so understanding,knowledgable and patient, in letting her exchange her purchase not once or twice but 3(THREE) separate occasions!,lol..These people exzibite more patience that I think i would have...The owner and the staff are customer service orientated and run a clean and impressive shop with integraty..Im so impressed with these gyes i couldnt recomend this shop enough... read more

I couldn't recommend any place higher than here. On vacation from Australia we wanted to check out the different reptiles you have available here in the US and came across Predators Reptile Centre. All I can say is WOW!!!! This place had way more variety than anywhere else we have been from LA, Vegas and San Diego. As for the service It can't get any better than Christian and his team they are amazing!!!! Christian is very knowledgable, reasonable and kind. His store has a variety of reptiles that other stores do not have. The store is very clean, and he takes great care of his reptiles and other species. He helped me get my bearded dragon setup going for a reasonable price. His store is worth visiting. Hi, I just wanted to shout out how awesome and helpful the team at Predators Reptile Center is! I own a snake so I constantly purchase my rats there and each time I go everyone is so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, I wouldn't go anywhere else. In the past I had purchased a large aquarium from them and I goofed up one day and placed my lamp over the middle glass to open the aquarium and oops, it cracked. I went back in and talked to the manager and he was so kind and took care of it at no cost and I am extremely grateful. They've even waited for me with a rat ready at the front counter at closing time once when I was rushing to get over there before they closed. Wonderful place with a great variety of reptiles and my kids get mad at me if I go without them while they're at school. Thank you Predators Reptile Center, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! read more

I am a huge fan of cold-blooded things. This place is a tiny heaven if you're into reptiles big and small. All reptiles seem to have a distinct smell due to their waste, habitats, etc. but this place surprisingly did not have a huge odor upon entering. I've been to a reptile sanctuary with far less creatures that had a horrific smell. That's a good sign that their stock is taken care of well. All animals were in great habitats suitable to their breed and looked like they were in excellent health. Another great sign. Lastly, the people working the shop were very friendly and open to talking about different reptiles. I learned so much about water monitors (a breed I am researching before committing to ownership). If you are enthusiastic about reptiles (hey they did have cute hedgehogs and hamsters when we were in!) then I highly recommend this place. There is so much to choose from and you're going to get a great price and a lot of support whether you're a novice reptile-lover or an experienced fan of cold-blooded creatures. I'm so happy I found this place and I hope that I get to bring home something from this place soon. read more

I was so impressed with this reptile store this evening. I was having some issues with my rosy boa and called the store to get their opinions on the issue, well the owner actually offered me to bring him in so he can have a better look! It meant so much to me for him to offer that! Anyways turns out he is fine and it was an easy fix.. HUGE thanks to the predators team and especially the owner who took so much time to focus on my guy. And ended up saving me a lot of money vs going to the vet!! My Fiancee and I stop by Predators about once a week. The store is always changing and getting in new stock. The people who work there are very knowledgeable and helpful, willing to answer any questions or just chat about the critters. The animals are varied and well cared for- you can tell Christian (the owner) knows what he's doing and cares about the health and well-being of his animals. I highly recommend going to Predators, whether it's to buy feeders (crickets, roaches, mice, rats), get tanks or furniture (they have a huge clearance section), or picking out your latest cute (but not so fuzzy) pet. read more

I've had nothing but great customer service from these guys. My screen on our beard dragon tank broke due to our cat and I was looking everywhere for a placement. It had the slide in lid and those are hard to find for the tank we had. I looked everywhere I could think and I even tried to see if I couldn't order it through my work I couldn't and I tried to place the screen myself and that didn't work. My bearded dragon was in a 10 gallon and he's just a baby so he was fine but he didn't have the room he deserved and I was ready to fold and just buy him a new tank. Then I went in and I asked the manager if they ever sold them. He told me no but he would try and see if he could order any. 2 weeks later I went in and they were there! I was so happy that he actually took the time to order something they usually don't have for my pets needs. I've always gotten my mice and crickets there but now I'm a life time customer for any of my pet supplies. They have such a great selection of stuff and when I'm at my job (an animal shelter/retail store) and someone comes in looking for reptiles or supplies I send them over there! read more

Change is in the air with this store. I've been going there for months, mostly for roaches for my bearded dragon. I was very impressed with the store and the staff was always very helpful. But, the last two weekly visits indicate a change. Maybe a new Owner or Manager. The cash register is different, the store layout is different, the merchant name on my credit card charge is different. The 'large' roaches were 1/3 to 1/2 of the size I have been getting. When I questioned the staff, he said they changed the way they sized them and were running low. I told him I needed bigger ones, he left for a long time and came back with bigger (yet still smaller than I was used to) roaches that he charged me 30% more for than usual. Also, the roaches stank. They don't usually. One roach was completely cut in half and another had a growth on it's back. I think he cut an old piece of egg carton out of the breeding bin because it was full of poop. I went home and had to clean my roaches before I could even feed them to my lizard. Very disappointed in the last visit. At 50 cents a roach, they should be healthy and a good size. I'll have to start shopping around. read more

Christian is a really great guy I bought a baby panther 2 months ago and recently its been a little sick. I don't have the money to take him to the vet so I took him back, Christian took a look at him and said he would take him for the week to monitor him and take him to the vet to get him checked out. He then said he would help me check out the cage he is in to see if we can make everything better. What a great guy! The place is great with exotic reptiles and they have great service I definitely recommend them. read more

The new and improved Predators Reptile Center has a little reptile love for everyones liking. The store is not the biggest reptile shop in town, but I think that the owner did a great job with designing the space available. All of the common reptile speices are present at Predators, they always have a large variety of anmials. (Frogs, Lizards, snakes, turtles, and much more. One constant with this shop is that if they dont have the animal you are looking for the owner will do everything he can to get it for you. I got my baby cuddles cut-ador-us for xmas and love her so much. Christain is very knowlegable about all reptiles and has made me love creatures I never dreamed I could. It is true, the lighting could be better, but I am a virgo and always see the little things. THIS STORE IS AMAZING!! So many awesome reptiles and a great variety of both older and younger animals! We took home a hognose baby snake today and love him!
