There are a few things that happened that I did not think were appropriate ranging from appointment…read morepractices, to service, to cleanliness. I booked an appointment for 5:30pm and arrived on time. When I arrived I said hello and checked in. I was instructed to sit in the first chair and that someone would be right with me. I sat there for 15 minutes in a chair that had no liner or towel, so I sat awkwardly with my legs to the side waiting for someone to put one one since I did not want to contaminate a clean foot bath/ chair. It was 18 minutes before the receptionist noticed and gave me nail colors to look through. It was another 10 minutes before my nail tech came over to me and put my water in. So it was 28 minutes past my appointment before I got to start my service despite calling that morning to book an appointment. The service itself was partially okay. The only part I was happy with was the painting of the nails themselves. There's no streaks or polish on my skin but that's unfortunately the only positive thing I can say. The nail tech literally cut my sidewalls at an angle without asking me. To make matters worse, she didn't even cut them completely and she used her cuticle cutters to grab the hangnail she CREATED and proceeded to tug at it until it ripped off. So I will have an ingrown in 3-4 weeks now. I paid for the middle level package which included a scrub. She left half of it on my legs until my service was over, leaving my legs sticky and dirty when I got up. For both the scrub AND my massage she did it for the allotted amount of time but she would drift off midway through and just hold my leg/ foot. I told her my leg was shaking cuz of the position and I needed to move it, and while she agreed she would literally squish my toes down to paint them at a position easier for her. I don't know if she was tired but I did not deserve a service like that. The cleanliness issue was minimal. She did take tools out of a blue package, but then she pulled an old nail file out, blew who knows what off of it, and proceeded to use it on my toenails. I was asked if my service was okay at the end and I said sure. I did not care to stay and argue because by the time this whole thing was over, it was almost two hours later due to waiting time and lack of interest in doing my service. I still tipped $6 and I don't think I will ever return. It might look nice inside but i shouldn't have to assertive about someone doing their job when i paid $59 for a service. I genuinely hope whatever happened was a fluke but I'm extremely disappointed to say the least.

I don't think I'll ever get a manicure done again in one of those headache-inducing "assembly-line" style nail salons that stink of acrylic primer. I got a custom-mixed colour as close as possible to Chanel's Rouge Noir, nails lacquered like Billie Holiday used to wear...a version of the 1930s manicure with the moons left open, except painted like a V. They came out perfect. At the two and a half week mark they still looked great...I would have let them keep going a bit longer but I broke a thumbnail (that keeps breaking in the same spot for the last few years...such a bummer) down to the quick. I had ZERO issues with these...no lifting or peeling, like can sometimes happen with gel polish. Work is outstanding. Prices are more than fair. Janet's awesome. I'll be back!! Mine has an oyster shell appearance and is really fun to look at. The process took 45 minutes but passed so quickly because there was a TV for me to watch Netflix. I ended The bad: It's $8 per nail for an embellishment so it can get pretty pricey. It makes sense with how much meticulous care goes into each nail and how each fleck of gold and glitter was placed. I probably cant get these nails too often due to cost but it was definitely worth pampering myself with some self-care for a special occasion! The interesting: I ended up watching Love is Blind's reunion even though I didn't see any episode from that season. This is the 1st nail salon I've been to with individual private rooms.
