I have a VW golf that has 107K miles on it and it's been acting up so I had it checked out by numerous shops including the dealership and no one could figure it out. Everyone suspected it had to do with the transmission and recommended a flush or get a new one altogether. Nissans Rogues have an unreliable CVT tramsmission that usually goes out between 80 to 120,000 miles. Mine had around 121,000 before it let go. The dealer wanted over 5 thousand to install a transmission. Jeff (owner) was able to get a new transmission from Nissan and installed in 2 days and saved me at least $1200!!! I could not believe when he called me 3 days later to say it was ready. I thought it would take 2 weeks. Wow!!!! I had just finished my 69 Camaro when the transmission blow up after 20 miles. I had the transmission build in Oxnard and not going to say what shop. Thank god I was in Thousand Oaks. I looked on my phone and the closest shop to me was Champion Transmission. I called and Jeff answered I told him what had happen. He said bring the car by if you can or have it towed. I limp it in. I had my clutch master and slave cylinder replaced here. He graciously made a free strut repair charging only for the parts. After the cylinder repair, apparently a tooth broke loose in my clutch pressure plate when the business owner was driving it around to make sure repair was a success. I trusted his advice and went with repair without any further questions since I needed the car ASAP. Upon receiving my car, there was a listener plate frame advertising for Championship Transmissions on both the front and back plate. I thought this wasn't distasteful considering I wasn't asked prior to installation. Just about a year later, my clutch system failed again. I took my 2010 Shelby gt500 to champion transmission for gear ratio change from 3.55 to 4.10. First, I'm never comfortable taking any of my vehicles in for service. Long story short: Transmission slips very badly, Find this" five star Gentleman" here at Yelp, Took the car to get an estimate, After 5 days,because I was waiting patiently Jeff, the owner did't charge me at all(the oil pan need to be removed,to look for any sign of damage) Finally I got the estimate: around $3000, the transmission need to be rebuilt, Took my car to get a second opinion, They find out that the transmission is good,no problem with it!(?) The transmission control module was needed to fix. It cost me $200. (Since than the car is running smooth.) OHHHH YES!!!,at the second place,they find out that the oil pan of the transmission WAS NOT removed,so Jeff DID NOT even touch the car and he wanted to charge me $3000 ! Jeff is one of the few, if not the only HONEST mechanic my wife and I can trust with our transmission repairs. He did such a good job with the transmission of our first vehicle that we took our second vehicle to him for repair as well. Our Jeep was still under warranty and I was just fed up with the lies that our dealer was giving us.
