Do not use this company. They RIPPED OFF My Mom for $400 for a 9 Mile tow. We were quoted $125 plus $3 dollars a mile. When they arrived at my mom's house (mom is 81 years old) they hooked up the car on the flat bed and then, demanded $400. My mom told him that is not what my daughter said she was quoted. My mom told him to take her car off the tow. The driver refused. My mom felt stuck, I was on a plane on my way to Arizona and couldn't take her call or help her, so she handed the driver a credit car. He refused the card and told her she needed to get cash. My mom had to pay him cash. In addition the driver REFUSED to give her a receipt, so she can't even get reimbursed from her insurance company and when I try to call them they hang up on me. This company is a complete scam, I was quoted 195$ to bring a semi across the road to a service shop. Upon completion my driver was hit with a 685$ tow bill. When I called to get an explanation the bi polar owner was screaming and cussing at me mind you we are on a recorded line. Also there was threats of impounding my truck etc. After I paid the tripled bill just to unhook my truck he called me back and acted totally normal stating that he apologizes for his "other dispatcher" but it was very clearly the same person. I took my car here after speaking to the wife. My car was overheating and the check engine, oil lights were on. Lucas said i needed an engine and that will solve my iissue.it did solve my overheating issue but now i have burning of oil in the exhaust after the used engine was put in by preferred. I told preferred immediately that my car was smoking out the tailpipe a lot of smoke blocks away. He told me to just drive it a bit which i did. I told him its still smoking blue smoke he said come by and we will put oil in it to calm the smoking which is burning oil through the exhaust. First they put the wrong oil in my car so now i was burning and smoking like crazy. I told lucas i wanted another engine or my money back he said no the engine is good and im blocking you which he did for several weeks. I paid him $4,100 for a used engine. Oil was leaking from the engine everywhere andbgettingbinto my turbos and he was not willingnto look at the car he just blocked me and ignored my calls and now im out of a car because it cannot pass emissions andbit buring oil so bad that the fumes is making me sick so i can no longer drive the car but i am sueing him for fraud and neglect. My brakes were smoking when I was driving one day and I needed to get the issue fixed fast because I had school the next day so I came here. Usually I would go to Full Serv but they were fully booked. When I called they said they could fit me in for the day and immediately said they would transfer me to a towing service even though I said I didn't need it. I ended up just convincing them I could drive there since it's a literal 5 minute drive from my house. It took a while for them to start working on my car, I waited probably 7-9 hours in the waiting room. They said I needed new brakes but they ended up charging me around $400 for new struts and some brake cleaner on my rear wheels. Once I saw the price for just the struts I said no thanks I can get my brakes fixed somewhere else but it definitely felt like the lady was annoyed that I didn't want more service done on it. If I could give one star, I would. My parents are elderly and I try to get them to confer with me before conducting business, but they took their car here for repair without telling me first. THIS WAS A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. From August to October, they have taken their car back countless times due to faulty work. The company was not communicative, and everytime they returned the car, they had run all the gas out and claimed to have fixed the issue, but the car never ran properly. My parents paid close to $4k for the repair, and ultimately, had to take it elsewhere to get the car repaired properly. Now, we are looking to be reimbursed. The company won't communicate. We've sent a certified letter; they won't accept it. They have no email address, so I used their online portal to try to reach someone. As I read other reviews, I am so upset that my parents ever took their car to this place. I'm not sure how or why they are still in business. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!! They are the absolute worst. I paid 100.00 for check engine light, diagnosis on Aug 2, 2024, that they said would be put toward the total charge. 2 weeks later they told me they had to order a part and I needed to pay an additional 200.00, so they could purchase the part. In the mean time I had been waiting for them to contact me which they never did. After 10 days and me calling they told me to bring the car in for the installation, on 8/24/2024. When I got there there was no one there from the business, the mechanics did not know what I was referring to and the owners or business representatives were not there. I called, both numbers, many many times and I got no answer and then a recorded message. That was all day Sat. Today is Monday 8/26/2024 and when I called someone told me the owners would be in and to call back, now no one will answer the telephone. I think they fit the complete description of CROOKS definitely with a capitol C. Thank goodness I paid with a credit card and stand a good chance of having my money returned, but the time they wasted, is just that, wasted. On May 22, 2023 my 2014 Ford Focus overheated on I-57 N bound. So I call Preferred automotive, they sent a tow truck to bring me into their repair shop. Long story short. They over charge for parts. And then lied to my face about it. They charged me over a hundred dollars for a part you can buy anywhere for $30 to $40 bucks. And then charged me extra for the gasket. I have a 2014 Buick Encore, I originally brought my car to them for a catalytic convertor to be fixed in order for my check engine light to be turned off I picked up the car 8/30/2024. After the repair the light came back on a couple days later, I was told to drive it more because sometimes it takes a minute for it to turn off. 2 weeks after getting it, taking it back and forth to them to reset the codes due to them not having the proper equipment and lack of communication on both ends, they finally tell me that the O2 sensor needs replacing and my car has two. After getting A second opinion from another mechanic I realized They replaced the wrong sensor out of the 2 and my car had started jerking since they replaced the sensor mid-to late September. In the midst of everything the engine light is still was coming on. I found this service place through the app. Initially, I was glad to have located someone to fix the issue with the car. Well began the long line of "fix this... now there's a new issue". My car unfortunately is not running due to yet another issue. Update: The issue with my car is that the alternator isn't wiry. Because I had to keep bringing my car back to Preferred Automotive, I decided to go another shop. This company claimed that my vehicle' s computer was malfunction and not allowing the parts they put in my vehicle to work properly. They stated it needed to be towed to the dealership and they were attaching the codes. They towed my vehicle to the dealership and we discovered they lied . There wasn't anything wrong with my car's computer. Once the service department replaced the fuel injectors that they claimed they replaced my vehicle was working. Please don't go to these people they are liars, and will only cause more harm to your vehicle and charge you for it. I would give them a negative 5 stars if I could. Quoted $75 to jumpstart a battery. That was high enough as I've never spent more than about 60 bucks, but whatever I had to get going. I was told it would be a 45 minute wait time. The guy shows up in about an hour and 10 minutes. He jump-starts my car...no problem. I give him my card for payment and he tells me that I should be receiving a receipt on my cell phone shortly, and if not to call to get the receipt resent. The receipt never came in my texts, so I called to ask for receipt to be resent via text. The young woman who answered the phone informs me that a receipt will not be available until the next day. I've never experienced receiving a receipt the next day on an electronic transaction. Since that sounded not right I called my financial institution and lo and behold, discovered that I was charged $100. I called them back to discuss the fraudulent charge and was hung up on by the young woman who answered the phone. So of course I had my financial institution dispute the charge. If you use them do not give them your card; use cash. Shady. Now off to file a grievance with the BBB. read more

Broke down on the highway. Horrible service. They picked up our car and only a couple blocks from the destination did they tell us that they only do cash. Then they stopped at the gas station and said we can't get our car back without paying them cash. THEY OVER CHARGED US. When we called to confront them.
