I hate to leave bad reviews but James from Preferred Pest just doesn't show up. It was obvious that we had a rat problem. He initially came out and fixed a location on the roof that a previous company did, but he said what they used rats can chew through. OK...set traps and $695 later, he has come back 1x to check the traps. Nothing was caught, but there was still noises coming from inside the wall. James said the bait was gone so he restocked traps and we have never been able to get him back. He has said he was going to come on a specific day and even said he was on his way but never showed up. I have never left a bad review before. have been using James for over 2 yrs. He was great the first year. He has become the most inconsistent person I have ever worked. He doesn't answer his phone never responds to text messages and doesn't show up and always says he has had an emergency. He will make an appointment for you let you know when and never shows up. When you try to get a hold of him, he doesn't respond. It has happened a number of time and I have always gave him the benefit of the doubt. This last time I was having a problem with German roaches. It took me to get him to come here about a month and a half he told me that he need to spray the house and come back in exactly 2 weeks. He told me when I have my next Appoinment . James was nice when I was able to get ahold of him or when he showed up. He also got one rat. However, he was very difficult to get a response from. He would also give very vague appointment times like "next week" or "tomorrow". I would need to follow up multiple times to get a more definite appointment time. And then he would be late with no notification most times. Always coming at dinner time and after dark. After traps were set, he was supposed to come back within a couple of days to close up all openings. That took a week plus follow up on my side. Once he was back, we paid the service in full. One of the traps got a rat and we called to ask him how to dispose. He said he would come in the next couple of days. I also mentioned that we were still hearing activity which he said he would check on at that same time. That was a couple of weeks ago and he has not reached out or come to follow up. When I had Preferred Pest Solutions over for $250 at the rental house for the ants trouble, when they came and called me said that there were spider activities need to be taken care of, which was another 250 dollars. Together would be $450. I agreed to pay. But next day, I found out that the chemicals they used could kill many kinds of bugs including spiders. So I called James asked him about it. He said that they took care of spider webs and add another chemical in the treatment. I did pay him the $450. But the feeling of being ripped is awful!
