In March, my main water valve leaked. I called Preferred late on Sunday. Preferred advised me that Scheduling would call, which they did within a short time. I set up an appointment for the next day. Early on Monday. Preferred called to confirm the appointment. Plumbing Technician, Roderick Ford #52, contacted me and confirmed his arrival. Rod arrived promptly. I advised him of my issue. Rod completed a thorough examination and provided an estimate, which was lower than my two prior bids. Rod replaced the water value and completed my invoice very timely. I am very pleased with Rod and his professionalism and efficiency. If I need plumbing services in the future, I will call Preferred Plumbing. read more

The plumber didn't cover his dirty work boots. He then proceeded to get shit toilet water all over our bathroom floor which he was stepping in and walked through our house several times. When he was done he said he would grab cleaning supplies from his truck but instead just left. When I later was cleaning the floors I noticed that he had busted the seal around the base of the toilet. 10/10 don't recommend. read more

I agree wholeheartedly with the person who wrote "Do not use this company." I had an emergency plumbing situation with hot water running at full speed in my bathtub. The flow would not stop even though I turned the dial as far as I could with both hands. A representative from this company located in Sacramento, CA promised me that someone would be able to come the next morning at 11:00 a.m. He said that, even though it was Easter, there would be no additional charge. He said he would relay this all to the "girls," as he put it (do we refer to women as girls? we shouldn't) taking over in the morning. But the "girls" (no, women) knew nothing about it in the morning. Then I was transferred to dispatch, who told me that it was "more likely" that someone would be able to come the next day. Posting an update: After my previous review, one of the managers, Ronnie, reached out to me. He explained how the tech that came to my house was only on his second call with the company and did not follow the right protocol. Ronnie apologized for the issue I faced, promised to update the training on their side, offered me a full refund on the service and additionally offered labor credit on the next job. I called preferred plumbing again for a shower clog in the shower. The tech that came this time was extremely knowledgeable in figuring out how to reach the clog, as it wasn't reachable directly from the shower drain. He was also upfront about the cost of the job. While other plumbing companies may also offer similar quality, I am happy that preferred plumbing addressed the feedback I submitted and made sure that I don't have a negative experience again. read more

Last month both toilets and both showers were plugged and overflowing. Ernie came out tried everything to clear the blockahe, finally having to go under the house. Once it finally cleared, it was recommended that the configuration of the back to back toilet pipes, be corrected. Today Perferred zplumbing sent Ernie and David to go under the house and correct the problem. They worked for hours and finally corrected the problem. I was told they'd be there in 20 minutes several times, but no one showed up. When I questioned their business methods I was blasted with rudeness from them, while being accused of rudeness myself, for asking why they do this to their customers. Stay Away at all costs. When a female plumber showed up at our house about three months ago, I was open-minded. After checking for possible leak, I think she was not able to open the main shut off valve and thereby broke it. Instead of replacing it with another valve, she just replaced it with a fitting. Either she did not have the correct part, or not being able to replace it or some other reason, she simply replaced it with a fitting. As a result, with were left without a means to centrally shut off the water supply. Also, the hole on the wall she created was left open ----- along with the debris in the cuttings. We had to call another plumbing company to do a proper job. read more

Had a service today and it was unacceptable. I understand at times you won't be able to solve customer issues, but this was incredibly a terrible experience. They were here from around 10am-230pm. For starters our tech seemed inexperienced, he was asking my boyfriend for help and feedback. The tech also didn't have a "camera" which is what he needed supposedly, I overheard him talking to his backup support that also showed up, that he would go to Home Depot buy and use the tool and return it tomorrow. Extremely unprofessional. As soon as the tech realized he was not going to be able to solve the issue, he put the toilets back didn't screw them back or anything, literally just left them in the spot they belong and left a mess. I am very confused by the 4/5 star reviews, if I could give them negative or zero stars I would. They also were not wearing masks. Didn't have booties for their shoes. Luckily we have some at our home since we have a strict no shoes policy. He also asked if he could use some old towels, which of course we had to throw away after. I would also like to add that Roto-Rooter came by later this evening and fixed our issue, they were here roughly 30 minutes. Our issue was in the main line so they snaked our front yard and the issue was fixed. Roto-Rooter showed up in a work car, had a uniform on, wore a mask, brought their own shoe booties and also brought their own towels. He ended up putting our toilets back where they belong and checked them for us, since they were left unusable from the previous tech. There was absolutely no need to take off both toilets and all the fiasco and headache from this company. I will never use them again, the only reason we used them was because Roto-Rooter was unavailable and we wanted it fixed asap. Worst decision ever. Giving this company a chance, was a complete disaster and a waste of time. read more

They were all quite high so I reached out to my next door neighbor. She recommended Preferred Plumbing. Their quote was less and they also charge by the quarter hour after the first hour. They were able to to send a plumber within an hour! Robert did the work and he was great. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and thoroughly explained what needed to be done and a recap of what he had done. The shower is now draining beautifully! Plumbing Nightmare (update still ongoing) Update: two weeks later, there are still back and forth, and juggling about responsibilities. They try to absolve of any issue, but the hard fact is we have clogging on third floor toilet, while second floor and first floor toilets are absolutely fine. They put the snake all the way up to the main sewer line (well beyond the clogging point between 3rd and 2nd floor) and stuck it there. Update: their director Ronny has reached out the next day and have been really helpful in owning the issue and checking with HOA about the best route to fix the issue. The issue might be a clog in the common area. Ronny and team has done a fantastic job to follow up and alleviate concerns on my side. Fingers crossed on resolving it finally. I had a clogging in the restroom toilet. Morning at 10am, their technician Henry came over, and I explained to him that I have clog issue between third floor toilet and second floor bathroom sink. Henry proposed removing the toilet on the third floor, and use a snake. Seems like an easy job, so I agreed that he started. One weird part though, Henry would not immediately start the job, instead he called his "advisor" for detailed instructions. That raised a bit of concerns to me, so I went over to another room, and talked to my wife that, "I don't feel this guy is very confident, should we stop him there". Then we had a bit of discussion and thought that the job would be so simple and no need for replacement. Turns out, Henry is so inexperienced he put the snake too far. I have explicitly stated that the clogging is between third floor bathroom toilet and second floor sink. Henry would put the snake all the way to the main pipe of the whole neighborhood - 75 feet down! Henry then reaches out to his "advisor". "Advisor" came and charged me 200 dollars for camera work to find out where the clogging is. Then proposed me to pay them 4500 dollars to dug up the neighborhood road (see the attached photo to see the spot they propose to solve the issue) and remove the clogging at site. I later asked the opinion of another plumber. He mentioned that the problem is clearly within the house (as I specified that the clogging is only between third floor and second floor, while all other toilets are working fine). But the inexperience of Henry has caused the whole situation to develop into an episode of plumbing nightmare. read more

It took them 1.5 hours to relight a pilot light of a water heater (according to their invoice) and charged us $280. Seriously!

I had a situation arise and had no idea on how to address it. After speaking with Najee, they had someone come out to fix the problem. The service was great, reasonably priced. We first called a vendor and after trying for 2 days and two different technicians they couldn't address it. They then called to tell me that they recommended breaking open the floors and replacing the plumbing! 25K!!! Two get a second opinion, I had Preferred Plumbing out and they sent Ricardo (21yr plumber w/ company) out and after using a crazy amount of tricks he was able to clear the lines!!! Bill was $385! Absolutely horrible experience! They went to fix my toilet back in September. Didn't do a good job because there was another issue with same toilet again. They didn't show to first appointment. Work was taken off to meet them. They didn't show to second appointment. Work was taken off for this appointment too. Technician got flat tire supposedly. You better hope they do quality work if you use them because you are never getting them back out to fix their previous less than great repair even when you are willing to pay more for that repair. I feel like they stole $200 from us at this point for the first job they did. read more

Sadly, our past few attempts to work with Preferred Plumbing have not gone as well as our first experience. In 2021 we had a very bad experience with a sump pump repair that wasn't up to par, and we later had to have repaired by another company. Most recently this past week, when our shower/bathtub was inoperable, it's taken multiple calls to get someone assigned to our case (we still have not had someone assigned). I'm sharing this as I don't think this is a bad company, but want to provide feedback. We probably won't work with Preferred again. read more
