We had Comfort Energy install our split AC system several years ago after two other installers said "it can't be done". We are in a townhouse with a connected wall so it proved too big of a challenge for the others. Comfort Energy was extremely professional and we've had our AC unit for years without incident. We do have an annual maintenance plan to ensure smooth running. This time, Agustin came out and he provided excellent service. He's actually the first tech to come out and clean our compressor with a detergent! Usually they just spray water. He also noticed we were missing a pollen filter and suggested the best way to find replacements on line. After the visit he sent us photos documenting everything he worked on. My AC was still blowing warm. I called for an AC diagnostic and let them know of the current status. I made an appointment 2 days later. The technician, Fabian, called me 20 minutes before arriving. A few months ago, one of our two large outdoor AC units malfunctioned. CE came out (Stephan) and diagnosed the problem. Rats had eaten pretty much all of the critical parts of the unit and, in the process, made quite a mess. It turned out to be a very expensive repair. Comfort Energy just helped us replace our home's 15 year old HVAC system with a modern, top of the line heat pump. I detailed in my request that sound level was a big priority in choosing our system, and our Comfort Advisor Maurice knew just what to recommend - a Mitsubishi heat pump that met all our requirements and worked with our home's existing electrical supply without needing any additional panel upgrades. Maurice was able to get our installation schedule within days of accepting the project proposal, and the HVAC technicians Guillermo and Jose who came to handle the installation did a fantastic job. They not only installed the new heat pump, but also cleaned up parts of our existing connections to make everything was properly covered/insulated. Everything went smoothly, and the end result looked so much better than what we had before. Both inspection and installations, they come at the time they promised, and send messages to let us know that they're on the way. 2) They're detail oriented. I've asked them to evaluate how my existing system could be improved, to be able to handle the heat of our summers. I told them several times before that that I know that the existing AC works as intended, but the overall ducting is simply not designed to deal with 110 degrees summers. As the result, then sent a technician to evaluate the existing HVAC system, but he was not the one to actually come up with suggestions about how to improve it. And then I was charged with $89 for technical evaluation, but that wasn't what I requested in the first place. The technician was courteous, and did validate everything works fine. No complains there, but he was the wrong person to be sent to my house in the first place. So, if you want to have a larger project done (it was split system installation in my case), just work with other companies, they will be much easier to communicate with and such project evaluation will be free. read more

I requested the cleaning service for our HVAC evaporator coils. Stephan Reich was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Within a minute, he identified that our condensate line was blocked and quickly resolved it without any issue. He even cleaned up a few additional issues like some of the old wiring connected to the temp sensor, and a kink in condensate tube that would've repeated the same issue with our coils. UPDATE: changing my rating to 2 stars as the $562 diagnosis and repair service we paid for lasted us for only 2 WEEKS before having the same issue of water dripping out of the drip pan from our ceiling again. At the time, I thought it was worth paying the price to fix our problem as we were diagnosed to have a clogged condensate drain line, but now we are told that our entire AC system should be replaced. I wish we knew this earlier as I wouldn't have wanted to waste $562 for a minor temporary 2 week repair when our whole system is now recommended to be replaced. --------------------------------------- ORIGINAL: Our AC was having issues leaking rust colored liquid into our bathtub as well as making occasional gurgling sounds from our sink in that same bathroom. Apparently the drain above the bathtub is a secondary/backup drain line meaning that the main condensate drain line was clogged. Once both drains were clogged, the drip pan in our ceiling started collecting water which started pouring out water once we opened up our ceiling to access the AC unit. We were assisted by Stephan who was very professional, knowledgeable, kind and thorough in his work. He helped explain to me our issues and gave us suggestions as to how to prevent something like this from happening again so soon as this is an inevitable AC issue that has built up over the course of several years. When I booked my appointment, I would suggest calling the company number as it was faster than waiting for the automated Yelp response to my message. The time frame given to me from 8-11 am was actually the approximate arrival time. Stephan helped to diagnose our issue and fix the clog by blasting nitrogen gas into our main drain line and then our secondary drain line which was very difficult to access in our condominium unit as we have a ceiling pancake HVAC unit. It took like 2.5 hours to complete everything. Definitely recommending Comfort Energy for any AC needs and request for Stephan! read more

Thank you everyone at Comfort Energy for the honest work and prompt response. My AC water condensate line was clogged. Initially we thought a new line had to be installed. But, after Belsin's diligent troubleshooting the line was cleared and extended properly. It's perfect and saved me a huge expense! Also this, the AC stopped working on July 3rd, during the heatwave. After getting in touch with Comfort Energy on July 5th, Belsin came over on July 6th. We couldn't perform the repair right away, other contractor issue. Our one of the tenants has an issue with HVAC as the airflow from the vent was very low. We called another company first and the technician pointed out the Bryant Fan coil might be an issue and as they were not Byrant authorized dealers, he recommended we call someone Byrant authorized dealer to fix the problem. We reachout to Comfort Energy as they claim to be a Byrant authorized dealer. On appointment day, a random guy dressed as technician shows up who has no knowledge about the inside unit or outside unit. He just said the unit is working as expected when myself and the tenant feel that the airflow is not as expected. He never bothered to look at the units and had trouble explaining the system. I guess they sent some random guy, who never had any experiences with HVAC. Don't trust them; they simply charge your visiting cost. read more

I've been getting furnace and A/C service checks for years on my home and they are professional and courteous. They always call ahead and the tech will text you as well with his picture so you know. They also provide discounts on parts when sign up for yearly maintenance. They installed the high end iQAir filtration system and UV light system in the air ducts. This helped a lot when we were having poor air quality due to the forest fires in San Jose and further north. Today Johnathan came out for regular service check and did an excellent job.
