This was a tough job that entailed trenching our concrete pad and moving pipes in order to relocate the shower head and controls to the other end of the new walk-in shower from their original position over the old tub. This review was about a job done a year ago. An galvanized irrigation pipe leak in a backyard started leaking badly one morning so I was in a rush to have it fixed (much more to conserve water than saving cost). I called AQP because I was confused by another similarly named plumber I used and liked very much before. But stupid me, they sent someone out and started quoting around $2500 for maybe a 40-feet copper pipe replacement. Of course I balked at it. They then said that PVC would be sufficient and would only charge $2000, and throw in also replacing a rusting pipe section where this line connects to main and add a valve. And they would send guys to finish it today. At first I thought at at least my money was spent in getting the job finished promptly. But they sent a teenager 2 hours later to help digging a 40-foot trench from 1:30pm and made a mess. Didn't actually finish until 7:30pm when it's turning dark. The owner Kory came and told me that unfortunately they won't replace the extra section due to lack of time. And worst of all, because the PVC glue was still drying they wouldn't even test that it worked before leaving. A big mess was left behind in the yard (see photos). I feel severely short-changed for a bad deal: $2K for a 40-feet dig and PVC pipe replacement, without the extra junction/valve replacement originally promised. I was left with a mess, and I spent ONE HOUR the next day going back and forth between the main valve and the backyard to slowly ramp up the water flow to make sure that the pipe was fine. read more

I work for a church and with churches there's bound to have repair as the norm. I was researching places nearby and saw this company with great reviews. Had a previous company come out for an estimate and decided to get a second opinion. The Tech that came out was Pedro. Pedro was awesome. Super easy going, friendly and most of all informative. I showed him the issues that needs attending to and from there he informed me of what needs to be done. Being new to this position, he understood and informed me step by step of the process to be repaired. I asked for a estimate since the Board has final say. The estimate came almost right after or the next morning. The person emailed, Joel was great in helping out with finding other alternatives for different types of pricing to show to the Board. After confirming with the Board for what needs to be done, I sent a confirmation email which was responded by Joel and then a phone call from Kory (spelling? or Corey?) The scheduling process was a bit of a juggling part on my end b/c of multiple things going on at the church but Kory was great in being so accommodating. Had it scheduled for later in the day so there wouldnt be any interruptions. Day of the Repairs. The awesome part was that the same Tech showed up to do the repairs. Its great b/c he already been here previously instead of a new tech and then re-showing all of items. Repair #1 - Clogged sink - Super fast repair and showed the before/after and potential work that might need future repairs. Repair #2 - Waterheater replacement - Ran into some hickups but Pedro kept me in the loop of what was going on and what had to be done. Voltage and sizing was an issue due to the location of where it was. Apparently in the past, the contractors installed the water heater and then enclosed it afterwards, which caused the access size to be smaller than the norm. He had to come back the next day to have a slimmer/smaller unit with the same voltage. It was disappointing but understandable. Next day came, texted me his ETA and went straight to work on the water heater. Showed before pictures, the process of what he did, and the overall after. It looked great and the process was smoother than expected. Payment was all done digitally and a receipt was sent in a snap. Will most definitely keep them in our book for future repairs. This plumber will get everything flowing alright...straight from your bank account to theirs. Made the mistake of hiring AQP to fix a sewer main issue. $8000 later...Kory said they checked their work and everything was fine, but when I asked to see their work on the camera he was cornered and had to admit they did a costly repair but didn't solve the problem. Taking full advantage, Kory then suggested I needed a huge, exorbitantly-priced ($30,000) sewer line upgrade. Needless to say I'm getting a second opinion. I don't trust AQP for one second. They're a bunch of opportunistic, price gouging con men. Their sky high prices aren't justified, either. There are other, far more qualified plumbers who do better work and charge less. For example, AQP's price for diagnosing my problem was arguably excessive (2-3 times that of two competitors I checked with). AQP quoted me $800 and two Diamond Certified plumbers quoted me $241 and $350 respectively. For the same exact thing (running a camera through the line). I would recommend a Diamond Certified plumber over AQP in a heartbeat. Diamond Certified plumbers are thoroughly vetted and their work is guaranteed by a third party who will investigate and mitigate any issues you have after the fact. AQP on the other hand gives vague, verbal quotes, uses scare tactics, and provides little to no guarantee. They are super sloppy and left my yard a mess. They broke my walkway light, left mud all over my fence, left my garden tarp all bunched up with rocks scattered everywhere. Furthermore, AQP lacks foresight, problem solving skills, and a cohesive plan. They do everything by trial and error--you pay through the nose for the trial, and they make the error. Because they didn't solve the problem the first time, you hire them again, they try something else, you pay, and the cycle goes on. That's how they operate. There are so many other plumbers out there--you can definitely do better than this motley crew of guys who, frankly, don't seem to give a crap (no pun intended). Update: After reading their response, I find it interesting that they "found" my sewer line broken because a week or so before they dug it up, I paid them the outrageous price of $589 to snake the line. They told me they snaked it "all the way to the street." That would have been impossible had the line actually been broken! That means, by definition, they had to have 1) charged me $589 for nothing or 2) broken my sewer line. They lie, cheat and steal. And by the way they consider a Saturday "after hours" and jack ip their prices accordingly. I have used their services in the past, and found their prices excessive. Other reviewers have said they have good availability, but that's because few people want to pay their outrageous prices. read more

My master bathroom came remodeled when we bought it. Turned out the remodel had a poorly installed shower drain that wasn't glued properly and would time-to-time leak into our kitchen. Additionally, the master bath has a soaker tub that had a cracked join and had an access door that hangs over our backyard. Whenever the tub would drain, it would just pour its contents into our backyard. This tub leak was hard to fix and we've contacted two other plumbers to scope the problem but none said they could fix it. I called Advanced Quality Plumbing on Monday, they came over to scope the work the next day. And on Wednesday, they came to fix it in one day. Found this company through Yelp to fix the jet tub. Agent came promptly. However, the diagnosis was completely off the mark. He just looked at pump and without any testing, said pump needs replacement. Charged $314 and never called back. After multiple calls, they mentioned part is not available. Felt cheated with the whole experience. The pump was not even the issue. Found another contractor who fixed the whole thing in one visit in less than $100. Would never take biz there. Least I expected was thorough evaluation and diagnosis for the issue. Got zilch for $300 I spent. Don't recommend. This was in May, 2022. read more

When our kitchen sink was leaking, we reached out to a few plumbers to get a quote. Advanced Quality Plumbing was the quickest to respond and they were home within an hour after the call, to take a look at the sink and give us an estimate. They recommended replacing the kitchen faucet, and even recommended a particular brand and model, which made it very easy for us to buy it. Within the next 2 days, we made an appointment for them to come over and not only replace the kitchen sink faucet, but also a couple of wash basin sinks in our bathrooms. They were flexible with the timing to come home and replace the faucets, were very professional, prices were reasonable and handled the job in a clean way. Called Alfred William's plumbing and got one of those fancy operators that entered in all the information and offered to schedule a time tomorrow. Got a call back a few minutes later from the plumber and he said he could be there in an hour. True to his word he showed up, went promptly to work on our leaking P trap under the K sink. He prefers to work on 1950 and newer plumbing issues, but tackled our hodge podge of cast iron, chrome plated brass and plastic 1927 setup. Swapped in new black plastic plumbing and took the time to stress test it 3 times to make sure it held. Appreciate his hard work and great pricing ($120 an hour labor plus reasonable priced parts). read more

Steve amazed me today with his professionalism, his total integrity, his amazingly low price, his careful expert work, his fantastic efficiency, and his great attitude. Here's my story: A couple of days ago I noticed the water pressure in the house was kaput, called the City utility company, they sent a very nice man to check it, and he told me it was the main valve to the house (which was built in 1953 or so). It was one of those old-old ones with a circle-shaped valve to turn rather than the new kind with an up-down handle, and it was all corroded and leaky. We figured my gardener had seen it leaking, turned it until it stopped leaking, and didn't think to tell me my house's water wouldn't work. '[Yeah, I know, but he's a *nice* gardener ....] I asked the water guy from the City how long he figured it would take a plumber to repair it from start to finish and he estimated around 30-45 minutes (i.e., equaling an hour of pay-the-plumber time). So I went to good ole Yelp!, found a bunch of 5-star plumbers near me, and called three of them. The first one had a recording saying he's out of town until Nov. 7th. The second one told me no way would it take just a half-hour or so when I described the problem, said he couldn't fix it until Friday or Saturday (this was Weds afternoon), and asked me to text him a photo of the old corroded leaky valve so he could text me an estimate -- which I did. While I was was waiting for him to text back, I called the third one -- Steve! (yay!) -- and got a very professional lady who took my number so he could call me. (Is this beginning to sound like Goldilocks and the Three Bears? Sorry, LOL). Well, Steve called back almost before I could put the phone down; he asked me to text him the photo -- which I did -- and then (unlike the Second Bear, above) he *immediately* called me back! I asked about how much he figured it would be, and he *asks* me "Are you over (some age that I'm over, forgot what age he said), because I give a Senior Discount." Like, he *asked me*, I didn't have to ask! He then estimated it would cost $150 to $200 and said he could do it Friday AM (i.e., before Bear Number Two whom I'd called before him), so I said "Great." THEN, Bear Number Two texts me back with *his* estimate. And now I will leave you hanging with intense curiosity until the end of the story, whereupon I will Blow You Away with the difference between Steve and that other dude. So, this AM (i.e., Friday), Steve calls me around 8:30 AM (which I'd asked him to do) to say he's on his way. He arrives at 9 AM as promised. He is courteous and friendly and professional, and gets right to work; first shutting off the water intake at the meter and then starting doing his Plumber Thing while I go in house and web-surf. Soon the doorbell rings ... he's done! The job took him all of 36 minutes to do. His bill? (Itemized of course) ... under $140 on my Visa! Steve's My Man! So you ask, *quivering* with curiosity, "What did 5-Star Yelp Plumber #2 quote? . . . . . . . . . Would you believe (yeah, believe it) .. $450! read more

Hands down, THE BEST. I rarely leave yelp reviews, let alone positive ones :), but these guys deserve it. Stand up guys that are extremely honest and fairly priced. My storm drains were clogged and the flooding had begun, they were out on the property within an hour and immediately unclogged the drains within the next hour. Saved my house from flooding. Turns out there was another problem on the other side of the property that needed to be addressed so I called them back, and they shot over in a couple of hours to start fixing it. This was a gnarly one, so the team called in Kory, who showed up within 20 mins and they diagnosed and fixed it within a couple of hours. Honestly, super impressed with their diligence and work ethic. Definitely my GO-TO folks and I plan on having them on rotation to service the storm drains every other year. Old house and everything is more difficult that you would think and I had to order some really specific parts from Brooklyn. Took three visits over the course of six months for me to get them the parts they needed. Would not accept payment until ALL the work was done. Who does that?!? Each technician was a delight to work with and really seemed to enjoy their job - it is like Southwest Airlines for plumbing. Everyone is happy. A few weeks ago, my electrician started trenching in my front yard for a PG&E electrical service upgrade on my home. His crew uncovered a water leak in the main pipe that goes from the water company meter near the curb to my shutoff valve on the side of my house. It was cleanly trenched so a long run of the water pipe was exposed and the leak was easily accessed. I called Advanced Quality Plumbing out to give me an estimate for splicing out the leaking portion. The "plumber" that was sent out told me that I had a 1-1/2" galvanized pipe. He said that galvanized pipes were very difficult to work on and the cost would be $665. This seemed highly excessive to me so I told him so and sent him on his way. I called another plumber who was recommended by a neighbor. This new plumber came out and told me that I had a 1" copper pipe and the first "plumber" was wrong. He had it spliced in a little over an hour (he had to go buy copper materials since I had told him it was 1-1/2" galvanized over the phone). Total cost was $300. ACP tried to con me, a single, older woman. Too bad for them that I saw through their attempt to cheat me. One star is too generous. Don't call them unless you want to be bilked. read more

This review is not for the quality of work but for the initial helpfullness and customer service / yelp quoting. I called a few times as they don't use Yelp messaging and there was a repeated confusion on the line. They were not abile to provide any closer information on the price so I couod make an appointment except to first say $189 + about $60 for the part, and then just to firmly switch to some wild range of prices from $400 to $815 depending on the type. And all for coming out and just replacing a Kohler shower cartridge (a problem with mixing hot and cold water). It felt like a person on the line didn't have a clue what we were talking about. They didn't even know how the Yelp coupon applies towards the work as well and what Yelp coupons are available. I hope they will improve this process for some next potential customer. That is the only intention of this review, I don't like giving low ratings. To say something positive, they mentioned they could come out even the same day. read more
