Another Yelp win. I was in Madera and wanted pizza. I read "brick oven" and thought, "Perfect." Quick little drive over. It is an older small pizza shop. The door is by the street. It took a minute for anyone to acknowledge that I walked in- which was fine with me because I was trying to make up my mind and check out the menu. I ended up getting a large pepperoni (on sale/special), an extra large Hitman Hawaiian (who can resist that name?), and a small garlic cheese bread; along with a soda. All in all it was like $53. The food was made quickly, and it was AMAZING! I immediately was kicking myself for not getting a larger garlic cheese bread- it was so GOOD! They serve Pepsi products & have a couple beers on tap. I want to give it 5 stars, but the cleanliness was a little lacking. The tables were not wiped down. The bathrooms didn't have toilet paper or seat covers. read more

I ordered over the phone. I chose this places based on reviews. When I went to pick up I was close to flaking on my pickup. This is one of the dirtiest restaurants I've been in. There was a sticky mess under the soda machine with sticky roach traps set underneath it. The pizza was edible but not great and we all had terrible heartburn that evening. If you're passing through town and looking for food, I recommend looking elsewhere. Staff was super friendly! read more

Let's break down our experience here. I went with my mother after taking my SAT test and let's just say they didn't disappoint. The woman who served us was super friendly and kind and we weren't charged for extra toppings like some places require. The pizza was delicious and made with fresh ingredients and we could tell it was right out of the oven. They had fun video games and claw machines to play while you waited to receive your meal, but the place was rundown and dirty. The tables had crumbs and the floor seemed crusty, my mom's one note is that Ms. Pacmans joystick was sticky and made her die. So I was in Madera and I was craving pizza. I wanted something different. Something i can't get back home. Using the powers of Yelp, I happened to find Premier Brick. I started looking at the pictures and the personal pizzas looked amazing. I walked in and I must say. This place needs a good cleaning. There is dust everywhere. There is dust on the two liter sodas that are inside the refrigerator. Let's just saying hygiene is not one of there strong points. I was greeted by two awesome ladies. I mean they were awesome. Very friendly and welcoming. One had pink hair, the other had purple hair. I think it was purple. I totally forgot her hair color now. I might have forgotten her hair color, but not her awesome attitude. These girls had great personalities and very warming. I can't speak enough. For those that believe I know these girls, nope! Just giving them credit where credit is due. I went with there lunch special calzone. Super cheap. This thing was HUGE. Perfectly cooked. The breading was executed perfectly. The ingredients inside the calzone tasted great. This place has so much potential. Too bad California is closed because this place would be fun to bring the family. I am writing this during California's experiment with Communism. Some counties are shaking that off, and Madera County is one of them: dining rooms are opening up, after having been forced closed. And one of the many is Premier Pizza. ("Pizzaaaaaa!" - my teenage girl) We had a far-ranging trip during Memorial Weekend, from the Monterey Peninsula to upper Highway 41. To end it, I wanted to have our first sit-down-in-a-restaurant meal since February. A greasy meat-lovers pizza never tasted so good. We drove a mile past 99 to get it, and that was fine with us. Premier Brick Oven Pizza is a typical pizza joint. A little dark, lots of wood on the walls and tables and floor, sports on the TV (in our case, the Stanley Cup final game from 1998), even classic video games. The perfect place to go after the Madera High Coyotes beat their rivals, or your boy's birthday party, or to begin the weekend after a long week at work. It's not gourmet pizza with trendy decor, and you don't need that anyway, you just want good grub. You're gonna get it at Premier Pizza. As usual, we got two pizzas, a pepperoni for the girl and 3-meat for the Hunny and I. The slices aren't big, but they're thick, and I could put down only six of them. Pepperoni, Italian sausage, Canadian bacon - it's a good, strong, meaty taste, and the dough and the cheese are good too. The girl noticed how her dough bubbled up at one point. Well, it really didn't, it was crunchy on the bottom, but she liked hers a lot. We took her leftovers home with us, and by the time we got home to the Bay Area, she'd finished the rest. It was service with a smile. I'm sure the two guys working there were happy to see ANYONE eating in. But they seemed like the types who would give that service to anyone who came in. They wanted us to have a good time there, and that made a lot of difference. Note: the entrance is hard to find. It's facing Howard, not any of the parking lot. So I want to start off by saying I've been a fan of this place for years and this was my first time eating inside in a long while. I was there for the lunch time special which now ends at 2 now or 3. I made my order had a beer, which they only had from the tap and sat down waiting. I walked into the men's room and washed my hands to get ready to eat. A minutes later after I came out the owner walked out of the women's restroom. A little strange but I though he may have been just fixing something. I got my pizza and for $6 they don't give you much, even for a personal size. It was fine and started to eat. After a while the guy that took my order and made my pizza left for a delivery. The manager was the only person there so naturally he had to take orders and make the pizza. That's when I noticed, right when he was about to make a pizza and immediately after taking the phone call for the order. He had not washed his hands after coming out of the bathroom. He literally walked out and sat at the bar watching TV. I watched him grab the dough, grab the cheese, everything. No gloves. Then I remembered that I didn't see the guy that made my pizza wash his hands either. Look I'm all for a pizza place being a bit of a dive and a little rough but not washing your hands is a big no no for me. Was traveling through on the 99, looking for a quick, good meal. Yelp reviews lead me to the spot. In a word, damn! Their pizza was really awesome. Had the "Hitman Hot Hawaiian". So many different flavors, but they mixed so well. The thing I liked best was the pizza was perfectly crisp on the bottom. First appearances here are deceiving. The dining room looks a little dated and worn. But the quality of the pizza totally made up for it. Also enjoyed a garden salad. It was one of the best pizzas i have had in the last 4 yrs in USA :) its family owned and so homely and warm. Its on the main road and has Ample parking space around the store - all 3 sides. They do brick oven traditional pizzas which has the perfect crust size n crispiness. The cheese is nice n light. Veggies are all fresh cut. Super cheap on ur pocket and yummy in your tummy we ordered a medium for 2 of us and we had leftovers for breakfast next day. Less than $20 including soft drinks. It was a delight coming here and im already craving for more. Wish we had 1 nearer to us too. A very friendly place! Good pizza with quality meats, however we were disappointed to receive paper plates and plastic forks and knives to eat on and with. The tools supplied did not suffice in order to cut through the thick crust pizza. The only way to eat this was to pick it up and eat it by hand. My red wine was served in a 16 ounce frosted beer glass! That is not how I prefer to drink red wine. (reds are normally consumed at room temp) I did love the low beverage prices (that chilled wine and cold beer @ $2.49!) This is a nice neighborhood place to bring a family with children or a group for a fun night out on a budget, There is a large flat screen, video games and music. I was hoping for a better food and drink experience. I did not find the 4.5 star place that was rated on yelp but did find a good solid 3-3.5 star place.
