Every time I order from Pizza Guys I'm glad I did. So many good flavor combinations and I love the thin crust. It's always ready on time, if not before, and the person at the counter is always friendly and helpful. Lately I've been living the Spinach Pepperoni specialty and also the Mediterranean. Ordered online with a coupon, and the food was ready quicker than it quoted. They have an online tracker to see where you're at in the process, and I enjoyed having the option to check that. Once the food was done, I recieved a text as well. Upon pick up, a young girl was on the phone, but someone rushed over to assist. The gentleman who helped me was quick to locate and give me my order. They also have a promotion where if you spend more than $20 and pick up, you can either pick an icecream or a 2L. I was pleasantly surprised and chose a free dessert. We drove back to our hotel, and the food was still hot when it was time to eat. We ordered a salad, the muncheez, and a pizza with half jalapeño and onion. The veggies on the pizza and in the salad were very fresh. The cheese on the pizza was cooked the perfect amount. Madera has a new favorite pizza place. A straight up five star. I went last week with an invite though Yelp. On the day of my designated time I called twice line was busy. I was already enroute, fingers crossed. Great location by the way; off the freeway, in a busy shopping center that has a Planet Fitness, Dollar Tree, & Starbucks, genius! I walk in and the staff are quite busy. That's a great sign. I was instantly greeted. I explained how I was given my invite, I was was going to show him my email, he said no problem. I gave him my info, he let me order a large combination pizza. While I waited like 10-12 minutes I read the menu. I like how I am given an option in buying my drinks, instead of a giant 2 liter bottle of soda I can choose to buy 4 pack (1/2 liter bottles) with our meal instead and make everyone happy. The gourmet pasta actually looks appetizing. It has seasoning and color to it. They've got a ginormous cookie, cinna twists, & Dreyers Ice cream. He called my name, and showed me, I appreciated that by the way, my combo pizza. I thanked him. Went home. And we now agree Madera has a new favorite pizza place. The options of cupped pepperoni, and that CRUST! The pepperoni wasn't greasy or cheap, know what I mean, it had had a great flavor. The cheese wasn't oily. It had a melt even texture. I received great customer service as I placed my order over the phone by Yesenia with whom I had the pleasure to meet in person when I picked up my order. She knew the menu very well, made great recommendations, and took the time to get to know me. I ordered a large pizza, garlic cheese sticks, and buffalo chicken wings. My family loved everything everything! The sauce on the pizza was good! It has this unique spice to it but it wasn't overwhelming it was just right. The sauce is what makes the pizza competitive. I love wings and I'm super picky and it definitely hit the spot. My kids love their garlic cheese bread..they approved. The food is good, but every single time I order delivery, something is missing from the order. When I call to let them know, the girl who answers the phone is always so rude and unprofessional. She even told me one time that they were too busy to send a driver out to deliver the missing items and she couldn't do anything about it. Are you kidding me?!? Too busy to deliver things we pay for? If it weren't for the ghetto ass lousy staff they have, I would give them a better rating. I don't even mind that they are way more expensive than other pizza places around Madera. A new pizza place in Madera in the same location as Rubix Pizza. The old business, Rubix Pizza, had Extra Large pizzas at a decent price. The problem was their pizzas, more their crusts, weren't that good. That is not the case anymore for this location. If I remember correctly Rubix had an 18-inch pie. This would be one of my two complaints about Pizza Guys. When you call a pizza Extra Large, make it EXTRA LARGE. For the $18 I paid for a one-topping pizza, 18-inches would have made me happier. With that said, this pizza was very good. We ordered a BIG GUY 16-inch pepperoni with a thick crust. I liked the crust and sauce. The cheese and toppings were plentiful. Rubix was a little stingy with the toppings and their crust and sauce were comparable to Little Caesar's or Costco pizza. Not bad but not great. Pizza Guys is closer to Round Table, Me-n-Ed's or Mountain Mikes. While Me-n-Ed's doesn't have an Extra Large pizza, Round Table's Extra Large is also 16-inches but the Mountain Mike's is 20-inches and much more expensive. Pizza Guy's offers three dining experiences: Dine-in, delivery or pickup. There are a few tables in the restaurant and the dining room is not as hot as it was when it was Rubix. It was actually quite comfortable to sit in there waiting for our pizza. As for my second complaint, it's the same I have for all restaurants trying to force their customers to order online. They offer ONLINE ONLY coupons. I don't want to order online. I want to talk to a real-live person when I order my food. So don't punish me for not wanting to use my computer or phone to order my meal. I'm a people person. We will be back to try their specialty pizza's in the next few weeks. Since it is still kind of a new place i gave it a shot and tried it...result? Disappointed!!!! Pizza is not that tasteful and the sausages on the combo taste weird (like old or not properly cooked). The size of the personal pizza, compared to the price, is ridicolous. Meanwhile other places have a bigger and tasteful personal pizza. Good pizza, great service and they have Impossible "meat" for vegetarians! We ordered the Impossible Artichoke Pesto pizza and Cheezee Garlic Bread. Both hit the spot and we were extremely pleased with the quality of both. The pizza had plentiful toppings and was expertly cooked. The cheezee bread was pillowy and had good garlicky sauce. Our only suggestion would be that the pesto could be more basil pesto-y, as it was more like cream sauce tasting instead of traditional pesto. The pizza is pretty good but bummed they messed up my order. Forgot 2 toppings and I'm pretty sure I was charged for them... it's right on the receipt, so must of been the person making the pizza. In the city of Madera where Pizza is marginal at best and one should know that average pizza is the best of the worst or the worst of the best which is unacceptable when paying exorbitant prices or any price really. I think I found the worst of the worst pizza 2 days ago. The only reason this pizza place can survive is the fact that pizza in Madera is substandard period. I got suckered in with a buy one get one free mailer and I indeed was a sucker for this promo. I ordered two x-large pizzas: 1 combo and 1 Hawaiian with petrified pineapple. First when building a house you must have a solid foundation so building a pizza must have a decent or excellent dough base. Without this the pizza will fail miserably. Here at this Pizza Guys joint the dough is prepackaged in a plastic bag resembling a slimy rendition of a breast enlargement tissue for the next patient. It was too late for me cause my two pizzas were in the oven being undercooked. The pizzas dough came out tasting like a loaf of bread that was soaked in a unclean apartments pool complex. It was horrible and uneatable! I slid the toppings massacre off this insidious piece of mushy bottom dwelling dough and it slid off like some guys (Pizza Guys) toupee on a windblown day. I tried to eat the topping only but that just created massive heartburn. The pineapple was so hard I wanted to line my walkway with those stony nuggets. I had to wrap the pizzas in a huge bag to disguise it from the Garbageman because of fear that he would call out a hazardous crew to cordon off the area before launching it into landfill for which I felt sorry for. I doubt any 3rd world rodent would touch those pizzas there also. To make a long true story longer I called immediately after taking a few bites and spoke to the girl there but said she had to contact absent owner on phone and would call me back. No phone call came and the called the very next morning and spoke with another female manager and again same protocol. Needless to say the owner told the female manager to tell me I cannot get my $$ back cause "the guy received a free pizza ". I didn't even get a full free pizza on the promo mailer. They shortened me on that too. He's a smart owner working behind a phone somewhere else besides his pizza place. I would also be embarrassed to sell a product that is unconsumable. I surmise he needed the $33.55 to help pay for another shipment of prepacked synthetic dough that probably stays in ones colon for an eternity. Stay away from this pace cause the only crunch in this pizza might be a cockroach. P. S. The staff was friendly and I kind of feel sorry for them serving this vile. Mark read more
