Only three small holes in the kitchen ceiling
    sarah s.

It's bad luck to have to hire a water mitigation company twice in one year, but the good luck for us was that we found Premier Water Removal. Our first experience was in January, when we discovered water dripping from a kitchen ceiling box beam. A plumber sourced the leak to a dripping upstairs lavatory, then offered to tear out a large section of the kitchen ceiling. He wanted to start sawing it all open that night. I'm so glad we decided to pause then and consult a company that specializes in moisture removal. This is partly a lesson in getting more than one estimate. The first water mitigation service we called estimated $6000 for the damage. Like the plumber, they insisted we'd have to take out 100 square feet or more of kitchen ceiling. Oof. Then Premier came and used infrared moisture sensors (which the first company didn't bring) and gave us an estimate under $3000. They got right to work, visiting every day until the job was done with a clear game plan, great communication, and smart technology. I want to particularly thank their lead supervisor, Santos, for keeping us in the loop at each phase and knowing exactly how to proceed each step of the way. In the end, with good strategy and a tented drying system, our ceiling survived with only three holes the size of quarters to be patched (see photo). As a bonus, the total bill from Premier came in well under their estimate. Fast forward to December, and the wax seal failed on a toilet, resulting in a puddle on the hardwood floor. Again, we called a plumber, who removed the toilet. The next call was to Premier, and Santos was again the project manger. Again, Santos used smart technology (this time something called the Injectidry Floor Drying System), to resolve our problem, again all our questions were carefully answered, and again we had visits every day to check on our progress (with a welcome break from the noisy drying system for Christmas Eve and Christmas day). The result: no mold, the moisture is gone, the cupping of the hardwood floor has been flattened out, and we don't need to tear out any floorboards. Again, I wish we hadn't needed moisture removal but I am thankful to have been in the hands of Santos and his crew. Here's to a dry 2020.

What an amazing experience. Justin and Colten came to my home shortly after I contacted Premier requesting an estimate. They were personable and I could tell they cared about the quality of work they do and were knowledgeable. I asked if they could start on the spot and they made it happen. They are a real asset to the company. I then communicated with Tami and Crystal in the office about the estimate and the price was on target with the marketplace. I think they are great representatives of a company who will continue to thrive. I will be referring family and friends opportunities opportunities arise. I hope the owner of the company will read this review and compensate each one of them enough to retain them. If they go to the competition, I'll probably need to follow them. Congratulations to the person who did the hiring. That was my career. Job well done!

Mark Muzzey is awesome! They did a great job when I had my roof leak and had multiple room damaged from the intruding water. Mark was very nice and he made it easy to understand what he was doing and why! He also did an amazing job re-trapping (yes, he had to re do the job the first company messed up on) the roof! I highly recommend these guys for all your water damage needs. We've now had Santos Hernandez, Carlos and Jake in our house helping to dry and remove damaged parts! These guys have been so easy to schedule (Thanks TJ) and have done a great job keeping my house clean while taking our floors, walls, and some ceiling out! This company is super easy to work with and they have done a great job! Thanks again guys! Mark is back again cleaning up some more messes caused by other companies! I honestly wouldn't even bother looking for competitors! Throughout the last few months we've had these many time come out! I wanted to give another shout out to Tyler, Efren, Cortney, Zach, Santos and Mike! You guys always put a smile on my face! Thanks for being amazing

    First incident: bedroom

My experience with Primer was great. I had two major water damage problems back-to-back in three weeks for my rental property. I used Premier for both situations and I would definitely go back to them again (Let's hope I won't ever need to). The first incident was a cracked hot water pipe out of the water heater in the garage. The pipe was in between the drywalls adjacent to the first floor bedroom. It also caused severe water damage in that bedroom - carpet, drywall all needed to be taken out. There was also mold behind the drywall. Santos and team was able to quickly identify the leak and mitigate the issue. I feel for sure that his prompt handling of the situation made a big difference to have the damage contained and prevent any further growth of the mold. I had this second issue coming up just as I was wrapping up with the first floor repair. My tenants noticed a large 3ft by 3ft water spot on the dining room ceiling. It is close to the window but also seems to be beneath the master bathroom. (This is a townhouse and living/dining room is on second floor while master bedroom is on the top) I had no clue what's going on and my tenants were super worried as well. I was even concerned if it would be sewer damage. I called Primer and they were able to send Santos to my property right away the next morning. Santos quickly came up with his analysis and I was impressed by its accuracy. It turned out to be the pipes behind shower head that cracked. The dehumidifiers were set up and running the same day. Premier also helped find a plumber who had delivered good repair in general. I want to give a big shout out to Santos and other technicians. These guys are very knowledgeable and experienced and they surely know what's going on behind the visible water damage. I specifically would like to say thanks to Santos. He does much more than getting the job done. He is always happy to help with my questions and explain to me in details. He even took his spare time and gave a walk-through/inspection of the property free-of-charge upon my tenants' request. I would also want to thank TJ, Krystal and other folks in the main office. TJ did an awesome job putting up the work schedule for me; he also tried his best to answer the many questions I had. Krystal was able to make the bill clear and transparent. She is super patient with my various requests like splitting the payment, or adjusting the bill with my insurance company. I really appreciate their great responsiveness, great communication, and their willing to help. Thank you all again!

I decided to send him a message to see if there was a company he would recommend to me. He actually responded immediately and said that he'd be able to squeeze me in! You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. It's difficult finding people that take pride in their work, are trustworthy, and do a great job. I've had quite a few companies do various types of jobs for me, and there are only two who I'd recommend. Mathew with Puget Sound Water Rescue is one of them!

Mathew, the owner of Puget Sound Water Rescue was timely in his responsiveness over the Yelp App (on a Sunday afternoon) and ultimately provided us the perspective and information that we needed to determine whether or not professional remediation services were warranted at this point. The technician took the time to inspect everything carefully and explained that, in his opinion, a full professional decontamination was not necessary for my situation. Rather than trying to sell me an expensive service, he gave me practical options, including a simple bleach-and-water cleaning if I wanted extra peace of mind, and even said that if it were his own garage, he probably wouldn't do anything further. I had received another estimate that was nearly $4,000 for essentially the same situation, so I really appreciated the straightforward advice and the fact that they put integrity ahead of making a sale. He was able to come out that evening to provide an estimate, which we appreciated and accepted. We later discovered that this visit resulted in an after-hours charge of nearly $500, something we were not aware of at the time. While at our home, David discovered that some areas had not been completely dried by the first company. Because we had an active insurance claim, and with our permission, he immediately arranged for his crew to continue the drying process. At first, we felt he was knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely focused on our needs. Our insurance company requested that a third party inspect and confirm some of the issues David had identified. David insisted on being present during that inspection. The situation was uncomfortable, and we were later surprised to see an additional $119 charge for his involvement. Five days later, we contacted the original company about their failure to completely dry the affected areas. They acknowledged the issue, wanted to make things right, and asked for the opportunity to earn our business back. We therefore notified Green Planet that we were ending their services. Unfortunately, this is when our experience changed considerably. The tone and attitude toward us became harsh and uncomfortable. Although we had understood that the mitigation work would be handled through our insurance claim, we were suddenly told the bill needed to be paid by us immediately. We were also contacted by a collections company and told that if the bill wasn't paid by Friday, a lien would be placed on our home. We were disappointed by the way the situation was handled. Our initial impression was that customer needs were the priority, but once we decided not to continue using the company, we felt the relationship changed dramatically. Our experience is ultimately a reminder to carefully review all charges and understand the payment terms before allowing work to begin--especially when insurance is involved. Updated Review -- Originally 2 Stars We initially left a 2-star review because of our experience with Green Planet during a water-damage situation. We had significant concerns about several charges on our invoice, the handling of our insurance claim, and the way our relationship changed after we decided not to continue with the company. After seeing our reviews, Green Planet reached out to us and asked for the opportunity to make things right. We had a lengthy conversation, they listened to our concerns, and they offered to refund $500, which represents the charges we had disputed. I appreciate that the company was willing to listen and take action. Because they made an effort to address our concerns, I have changed our rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. That said, I do want to be honest that this resolution came only after we had posted our concerns publicly. We had previously tried to resolve the issues directly, including asking the company to work with us while our insurance claim was being processed, but we did not feel heard at that point. I'm glad we were eventually able to have a productive conversation and reach a financial resolution. My hope is that Green Planet will take this experience to heart and improve communication with customers from the beginning--especially when dealing with stressful situations involving water damage and insurance. Our original experience was disappointing, but I do appreciate their willingness to come back to the table and try to make it right.
