There were a few incidents that occurred during the project (as with any project) and I wanted to describe how Diego handled it. The demolition of the concrete pathway caused the brick entry area at the front entrance to show a crack. Diego was prompt in communicating the damage and immediately discussed with his hardscape lead Steve on options for fixing it. Steve's team was able to remove the damaged brick, match it at the store, and repave it in the same design so that the result looked like new. I was very impressed at the speed (did not affect schedule) and quality of the work. Diego did not charge us for this repair. Diego also offered to fix our fence. The fence was not damaged by his team but by our neighbor's new construction. Diego was very kind to fix this free of charge and our neighbor even commented that he had been bugging his contractor to fix it for a while but they had been dragging their heels on it. This definitely made me feel lucky to be working with Diego. Finally, there were numerous small instances that showed care and attention to detail. When they removed an invasive privet tree from our backyard, they salvaged some straight wooden sticks. Later, they salvaged an errant fig tree and put it in a pot for us, and used the privet sticks to support it. I was impressed by their foresight and economy. When I was installing string lights on the pergola that Diego's team built for us, Diego's team member Jacob climbed on top of the pergola and mounted the solar panel for me. My wife and I also became new parents right after construction started. Diego was very accommodating in letting us know when there would be loud construction noise and front-loading it as much as possible so it wouldn't affect our new baby.

Two items were of highest priority in our list of renovations: building an extensive deck and pergola in our backyard and redoing the entrance and walkway to our home. We canvassed many contractors to bid for our project. Jesse Ososki Art was referred to us by a trusted contractor who had done quality work for us when we resided in San Francisco City. We ended up choosing Jesse Ososki Art for our two top priorities, and the choice was easy. Upon first meeting Jesse and outlining my plans, we could see that he was immediately engaged and enthusiastic. We envisioned plans both creative and novel, and we immediately resonated with Jesse when he anticipated key artistic aims of our vision and had many creative suggestions on offer to boot. After our first meeting, having downloaded upon Jesse an extensive set of renovation plans, we were both satisfied and impressed that he was able to digest all of our requests and deliver an estimate the very same afternoon of the day of our first meeting. The alacrity of turnaround and detail of his first estimate, his level of engagement and enthusiasm, his excellent attention to communication, and perhaps most of all, his artistic bent, led us to choose his firm to do our highest priority work. Our plans required working with many difficult materials. Some of the techniques and materials required were novel to Jesse and crew. But they were unfazed, did their research, and their work really showcases the beauty of the materials. 5. The lines of communication were always open. We had access to Jesse and any of the workmen at any time of day and would get swift responses to our needs and questions. Additionally, we were always kept up to speed on development on a daily basis. 6. Besides being diligent in their craft, the firm of Jesse Ososki is inspired by "art": hence, Jesse Ososki Art Inc. He came through a referral which was a bonus. However, there were a number of issues. After he provided a quote, he was difficult to get a hold of, but since he came through a referral (and I liked him based on our initial meeting), I still decided to move forward with him. Three (!) months passed between when we signed the contract, to when he started the job. First he said he was sick, then it was difficult to get the plants. At least, it seemed like he did a good job installing the new plants. Our 90-day warranty walk-through date came around, and I pinged him. He responded promptly and came to do the walk-through. A few plants had died, and even though he said he would replace them per the warranty, he never did. We also had issues with our new ground covering, which he said he would research and get back to us, and he never did. I tried getting in touch with him for two months after the walk-through, but he never responded. What started out as a (more or less) positive experience ended really sourly.

I had no objection to that however I see that on yelp, and their websites they have first 15 pictures on yelp of my design / built / developed property at Maywood Ave San Jose as their custom home project. I asked that he remove these pictures as they were a collection for my open house. Initially he agreed to remove these however came back telling me that their yelp account is o collections for non payment and they are unable to get into the account to remove my pictures. If still no removed I will be sending them a legal notice for copy right violations of using my project pictures and portraying them as their custom home project portfolio.
