We had heard about them from other people we knew, and when making the final decision, we saw the incredible reviews all over for Modern, helping us solidify our decision (thank you Yelp!). Gary was prompt, courteous, and professional from the first estimate through the completion of the project. He responded to questions about the estimate and final questions before making the decision, and communication is a big thing for us. The team who actually completed the project had all the same positive attributes. Perhaps the most amazing part was that the team stayed on the promised schedule, even with a holiday and the heat being above 110 every day they were working on the project. They showed up on time every day to make sure the project was done. In addition to the heat, there was an issue with the windows being delayed in arriving from the manufacturer. Gary advocated for us to do all he could to get us the windows as quickly as possible (originally they were going to be 3 days late, but after he spoke with the powers that be, he got it bumped down to only 1 day late). One window even got delivered to the wrong place, and he did what he could to track it down and get it to us as soon as he could. We also had to address some electrical tasks during this project, some of which were very much intertwined with the work Gary was doing, and Gary worked well in coordinating with our electrician. Lastly, when the project was essentially done and Gary did the walkthrough, he kept his same work ethic and attention to detail. Throughout the project he was very interested in the big picture of the final project. During the walkthrough, he addressed everything we wanted fixed, no matter how small, and even found some items he added to his list that we did not notice, wanting to make sure nothing was left undone. For big projects like this, you want the job done well and someone easy to work with, which is what Gary and his team offer. We would easily do other work with him, and give more stars if possible.

Gary was fantastic to work with, he was always there to meet in person, understood what we needed and made the process very smooth. I'd highly recommend them.

Previous Experience: We hired DL Design Construction last…read moreyear to completely renovate the exterior of our home with James Hardie siding, including windows, light fixtures, and all new electrical with an all new panel. Dimitry and his team exceeded our expectations so much so that we rehired them to build us not one, but two storage sheds. But did they really build us the storage sheds we wanted? Why Rehire? We had one previous storage shed. You know the one that everyone has. The so called Tuff Shed, in reality wasn't so tuff. It was falling apart. It was seated on cinder blocks that weren't stable or sturdy. There were gaps in between the doors and we wanted something more secure and airtight from dust and critters. Especially the smell. You know what i'm talking about if you've had one. We also wanted something more purposeful, and something that would have longevity. So we shopped around looking at Tuff Sheds from Home Depot & Lowes, but quickly realized that they were similar to what we all ready had just with a bit more bandages. We knew within a very short period of time these sheds were going to fail miserably from their design and cheap building material. So we picked up the phone and called Dimitry at DL Design who we TRUST. The Build: After discussing our requests with Dimitry his team went to work. Heres a brief breakdown of the work they did: They tore down the old shed, poured two concrete pads including a walkway leading up to the shed (that we just love). They anchored the shed down to the strong concrete pad, which practically made it tornado proof. They built the frame with precision and excellent craftsmanship. Insulated it so i can store more temperature regulated items. They sheathed the frame with plywood on the exterior as well as the interior. Then wrapped it with a water barrier paper. They installed several windows to help control temperature and bring in natural lighting. They installed a sturdy door with lock and key, which helped secure it, as well as prevent dust and insects from entering in. Unlike the prefab ones that have gaps and fall apart due to water intrusion and warping from sunlight. They finished the inside & outside with the best siding material out on the market, the James Hardie fiber cement siding. They also painted it from inside and outside with high quality paint. And not to fail to mention they installed electrical with an interior ceiling light and 3 outlets. You thought I was done, but i'm not. They also installed 3 custom gutters to help direct water away from the structures. The Upside: With these two new "sheds" we can utilize this space for so many purposes such as a new office space or even a gym. We can store things in there that we could never store in any new prefab shed out there. Such as food as an extra pantry, clothing such a transferring winter wardrobe from summer wardrobe. Storing blankets, towels, bed sheets, and not worry about things smelling like it came out of a shed. We no longer need to worry about bugs or critters getting to our valuables or moving in underneath the crawlspace making a din, since the "shed" is sealed airtight from all around. Why Hire DL Design Construction? Why I love to hire DL Design Construction? Because Dimitry is a great contractor. He combines technical expertise with, honesty, effective communication, and strong organization to deliver on time and within budget. He provided me with all the details, he's transparent, he provides written estimates, he managed subcontractors effectively, he's keen on keeping the job site tidy. He works hard on maintaining clear communication throughout the project. I am so thankful to the work his team has done to our property. Their craftsmanship is excellent. With each board cut to precision, and every nail driven in the correct position. They have exceeded our expectations yet again. So did they really build us a "shed"? No, they built for us something that exceeded our expectations in every way. Only Hire Reputable Sources: DL Design Construction has a solid reputation anyone should trust. This was my second time hiring them and they exceeded all expectations. They have a team of honest individuals about their capabilities and project timelines. They listen to your needs and answer questions promptly, and maintain regular, transparent updates. They offer detailed written estimates create realistic schedules, and ensure the job site is safe and organized. They have proven experience strong project management skills, and a network of reliable subcontractors. They are proactive, adaptable, and see challenges as opportunities for solutions, ensuring the project stays on track. They take pride in their work, focusing on high-quality results rather than just cutting corners, and are always showing enthusiasm for the project.

The communication was excellent--they were responsive, listened carefully to our needs, and took the time to understand what we were looking for. Their professionalism throughout the estimate process was appreciated. However, their pricing came in higher than other quotes we received, which is why we decided to go in a different direction. I can't speak to the quality of their work since we didn't hire them, but based on our interactions, they seem like a solid option if their pricing aligns with your budget. If you're getting multiple estimates, they're worth including in your comparison--just be prepared that they may be on the higher end.

We had an extensive exterior remodel done to our 70+ year old house. Exterior siding, exterior paint, new exterior lighting, new front door, replaced the side garage door, added a sliding glass door to our master bedroom, and a good amount of electrical work to round everything out. We worked with Ruslan and Gabe as the project managers while Nazer, Eric, and Jacob were the crew that did most of the exterior work. Edward and Vaska did the painting. Nazer and his crew were prompt every working day and they WORKED from morning to closing time. It was July/August and HOT but the guys worked with no complaints. Every step of the way, Ruslan, Gabe, and Nazer kept us in the loop and addressed every question or gripe we had. Every day, Nazer and his guys helped set up our dog fencing to keep our dogs out of their work area and would help break it down in the afternoon. They CLEANED the job site EVERY working day. Nails, screws, scraps, dust, etc was all cleaned up. Six months later......heat, cold, rain, wind.....everything is holding up great. The fit and finish of everything is excellent. We whole-heartedly recommend All Sides for any renovations you might need!

However, this review focuses on my experience with interior demo work--specifically, a partial wall demo in our home. Overall, the project was completed as promised, and the results are good. We needed a wall removed to open up our space, and I was told that while WSC mainly advertises as more of an outside/siding work business, they can without a doubt take care of what I needed and was assured the work would be professional and look as if the wall was never there. They went through a lot of dedication to achieve this, despite our discontinued flooring requiring them to pull up and reuse flooring from another area of the home (our primary bedroom). They made sure that area was properly restored, understandably at an additional cost. That said, I feel there was a lack of attention to detail in many aspects of the work. While most issues I raised were eventually addressed, I reached a point where I didn't feel it should be my responsibility to catch and report quality issues. These included: * Poor wall texture in some areas. * Paint that didn't match. * Dings in the wall that were either left as-is or patched sloppily with silicone. * An outlet that does not sit flush against the wall. * A noticeable line on the wall where the paint job was stopped abruptly. I will add that the splotchy paint job on the baseboards was partly due to me providing the wrong paint can when worker B asked for it, as I recall being informed by worker A that it was that can of paint. However, when I eventually called to address my concerns about the mismatched paint, the response I received by worker B was that he is "not a professional painter." I found this response unprofessional, especially considering I was paying for a professional job. It also felt like there was a lack of experience overall given the young age of most of the workers. Even guests have pointed out imperfections, and when I showed the work to a coworker with a background in general contracting, she was appalled by the quality--especially considering this was done by a professional company. I understand that with reno jobs, there is coordination to be done with multiple specialists (demo, drywall, texture, electrical) and they may come from diff companies, but the work performed by these contractors reflects directly on WSC and their standards. Additionally, I was told I would receive a closing form summarizing the warranty for their work via email, but I never received it --even though the job was completed summer of '24, around July or August. On the positive side, the space has improved significantly. The wall is no longer an issue, and the home feels more open and functional. However, the lack of attention to detail left us with several things to fix on our own, despite paying thousands for the project. While WSC seems to excel in siding (as reflected in their reviews), I would recommend looking elsewhere for interior renovation work if attention to detail is important to you.
