James and his team are fantastic. Just fantastic. We met with several landscapers to get an estimate on planting sod and several bushes. He came by and gave us a very thorough explanation of what he would do and how and also recommended different types of grass for us and bushes that would not intrude with our plumbing. They also adjusted our sprinkler system to fix it all up - which was great! The last thing we wanted, when investing in our yard, is DYING GRASS! We had done some deconstruction of our previous yard prior to his arrival (demoing a fence and some other items) and he charged a VERY reasonable rate to haul it away. On the day of the job he arrived on time and they worked quickly to make our yard look FANTASTIC. We got a good vibe from James right away and our gut did NOT steer us wrong. He even came by and actually helped us install our new sprinkler timer! Their clean up was also excellent! They left our house more beautiful than when they arrived. No issues. Reliable. Great quote. Good guys. I cannot recommend them more highly. We'll be calling them back for our retaining wall and installation of more plants in a few months. read more

Very unprofessional and bad customer service. We had them do a fire pit, pavers and a gate wall. The sand came out of the paver when we hosed it down down. They placed the veneer stones that we purchased on sloppy and crooked. We purchased all the material not through them, and they tried to charge us for the same material. They got upset when we caught them on this. We had to dispute the charges through our credit card, which they don't know how to handle professionally. They corrected the firepit wall and resealed the pavers. We told them to fix the firepit ring which is too big and is hitting the caps causing a fire stain. They also filled the firepit with 3/4 inch rocks which we found out when heated will pop. So now we have to hire someone to fix the ring, the caps and take out all the 3/4 inch rocks. The sand in the pavers did not stay the 2nd time they resealed it. It rained the other day and cleaned out the sand in some areas. So we also have to hire someone to fix this mess. Since they don't know how to handle a credit card dispute we have been receiving harassing emails, phone calls and letters demanding their money. We are still finding errors with their work we will definitely won't be rehiring them or recommending them. read more

James and his team worked on one side of our sloped garden in Topanga that had a number challenges. They wrestled an unruly bamboo grove, cleaning up crazy rhizomes and installing a bamboo barrier. They put in low border walls as well as box steps filled with gravel. The entire area is not only safer for our kid to play in, but overall is more defined and was made ready for planting, which we elected to take on ourselves. Most of all, James worked patiently with us on our headache request for a flagstone patio that included broken tile, which we sourced, purchased and placed ourselves. Even though we were feeling our way through the process, taking inspiration from a few source photos printed from the internet, he toughed it out and we're so pleased with the results. The team left each day with the site in good order, came in each day on time, were communicative and pleasant the entire time. We used James from Premier Tree and Landscape to put in over 1000 sq. ft. of pavers on our pool deck as well as handle the pool coping and drainage. All I can say is that James and his company were fantastic! We had four different paver companies come out to give us quotes and they were all extremely high because they end up subcontracting out to another group and making a cut. James and Premier are the end installer, they don't use subcontractors and James was on the job everyday to make sure it was done right. His quote was also thousands of dollars less than some of the other companies out there. I have never worked with a contractor that cared so much about the end result of his product and had such fastidious attention to detail. James put in high-end drains covers for our pavers as well as a custom skimmer top with pavers inset. We didn't ask for either of these, and they were much more expensive then the ordinary drain and skimmer covers I've seen, but James did not charge us a dime extra--he just wanted to make sure our pool deck looked as good as possible. We picked cream-brown-charcoal Angelus Pavers and James and his team installed them in an I-pattern and put a beautiful border around the end. Also, our pool is only accessible by one door at the end of narrow pathway so it was not easy access. All the other companies wanted to charge us a "difficult access fee" along with a bunch of other add-ons if they had to cut out roots or use extra sand. James said, "it's just part of the job" and there were NO add-ons. When the job was done there was one drain cover that was slightly out of line, I didn't even notice it but James did and he spent 2 hours in 91 F heat re-doing the drain and all the pavers around it to make sure it was perfectly flush. Do not pay any attention to the 1 star reviews posted, they are most certainly bogus. I can't imagine James not doing a perfect paver installation, I believe it would go against his moral fiber. I would highly recommend James and Premier for your paver projects and we will be using them again shortly to do our driveway and additional areas. read more

Just bought our home and needed some tree trimming done. Git a number of bids but the process was ridiculous. Some contractors reviewed the job and never even sent a quote. James showed up when he said he would be there gave our quote as promised and did this all the while showing up when he said he would. Sending emails in a timely manner. Reviewed the job before the work was started to ensure we were all on the same page with what needed to be done. Job was done to perfection as promised. We have used Premier twice on a rental property and a number of times on our residence. The work is excellent, they bend over backwards to please and the pricing is typically lower than competitive bids we received. Mike, the owner not only negotiates the work and price, he also is on the job from beginning to end. We had a complete renovation of our very large LA County residential property in the middle of summer. They completed it on time even though the temperatures were oppressive. We lost some plants in the heat and they were replaced "no questions asked". Currently they are finishing an outdoor BBQ kitchen. Once again, on time, on budget and it looks great. James arrived on time, was professional, and did a great job. We were about to have some landscaping done and needed this completed before the process. Premier Tree and Landscape recently completed a large project at my home and all I can say is, what a class act... They are absolutely a first class contractor and I have worked with many both personally and professionally. Their pricing was fair and the work was fantastic. Even when I had a minor issue arise, they were quick to come back and make the fix without any hassle. It is tough these days to find a contractor that does not rip you off and does what they say they will do in the time frame that they say they will. James came over upon my call and a few months later, he had turned a conceptual vision that my wife and I had into our dream back yard. As we all know it is easy to come up with changes as a project is in progress and contractors tend to try and take advantage over pricing of changes. This was absolutely not the case with Premier Tree and Landscape as they were extremely fair with pricing on any of the additions we chose to add. Since completing my yard, Premier Tree and Landscape has done work for several family members, friends and neighbors strictly by them seeing my yard and asking who I used as they were simply that impressed. I don't know about the so called bad experience that JD in Canyon Country had, but it sounds to me like a big story based on my experience. They did an amazing job on our yard! First we had them come in to trim two of our trees and take one out and then we had them come back and lay sprinklers and all new sod in our backyard. We had about 2000sq ft of land (or possibly just over actually) that needed A LOT of work. The house was flipped but they completely did one over on us when it came to the back so all we were left with was a lot of dirt and horrible inches thick mulch and uneven ground. Plus a "sprinkler system" that was never actually made to work or do anything. Premier came in and tilled the ground, leveled it out, put in a huge sprinkler system with a timer in our garage and even put an extra pipe connection so we can hook up our drip system when we build our veg garden. After a long day and a half of that they laid out all the sod and our back yard looks amazing!! Our yard had a lot of unexpected issues as well and the price never raised because of that and I was never told "sorry, we can't do this". They worked through all the problems and their pricing was so outrageously reasonable I still can't believe it. Thanks so much and for others out there I highly, highly recommend! read more
