These guys are great! They even helped get a stripped bolt out of my skid plate for me that I was having trouble with. I called and asked about getting a regear done on my 2020 Tacoma TRD off road and Miguel was great on the phone. He helped me decide on which gears and what ratio I should go with. I had done a lot of research before calling and his recommendations lined up perfectly with all the research I had already done. He also explained the break in process and gave me a quote. He told me I could make an appointment but it would have to be a month out. Or I could drop off the truck for a few days and they would get it done when they could. I dropped it off on a Thursday and it was ready the next day. I probably got a little lucky with the timing but they were great. Miguel wasn't there when I dropped it off but his other employee (I cannot remember his name. Apologies if you ready this haha) was very nice. Great experience from start to finish! Was looking to re-gear and add a rear locker to my 2017 4Runner. Contacted Premier West Gears after hearing a lot of good things about them. 2000 Dodge Ram brought in own ring and pinion and was charged only labor. Called me during install said should change bearings out. I declined. Picked the truck up when done and Rear end leaks out of front seal and all over back of truck, called up and they want almost as much of whole job to replace the pinion seal. Seal was never mentioned needing replacement. They did good replacing the gears but a $20.00 part not being replaced will keep me from going back again. read more

Purchased 4.88 gears for my 2017 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. They installed them very efficiently, from start to finish 2 hours. Miguel was very polite and nice to talk to. He explained the appropriate break in procedure, and they even changed out the ECGS bushing at no extra cost! The drive back to San Diego was uneventful, and had no issues. They are a bit heavy handed with wheel lugs and drain plugs, but nothing was damaged. Nothing alarming during the fluid change either. Great experience all around. read more

I've recently had the pleasure of getting my truck re-geared through PWG. This shop has a solid reputation and I highly recommend them for your differential needs. I personally dealt with Miguel and Carlos during my service. They were very accommodating and kept up with communication well throughout the process. With all of the additional weight that I have on my rig, I opted for 4.88 gears and front Harrop e-locker. I can say that I'm happy with my decision, my rig feels like a completely new truck. The service was completed very quickly which was impressive, about two hours. After my 500 mile break in, I returned to PWG to get my fluids changed and components inspected. Before the actual review: I'd like to vouch for Miguel, Carlos, and the whole team at Premier for making my experience at the shop and over the phone amazing. I will tell you, this family owned shop is completely different than every other that I have seen. Family working together means they aren't in it for the money only, no selfishness; instead to provide the best service they can to their customers. I contacted Miguel with this crazy idea of putting together a group of Tacoma guys to all get new gears done in the same order. He agreed to my crazy idea, and we doubled the amount of people we agreed...60+ Tacoma owners will be getting their gears done by Premier. Tacoma guys, this is your place to go to. My Personal Install: My God are they quick...3 hours for the front and rear, are you KIDDING ME?! It took me 10 hours to install third members from ECGS on my last truck. The best part is, the backlash was set perfectly and I got to check out the gears before they went in. I had Nitro 5.29's installed and they are known to whine/hum on the freeway. My old Nitro 4.88's from ECGS hummed pretty dang loud at 65mph. Premier killed the install and I have no whines, hums, etc. This was the best service I have ever gotten from an offroad shop, and they actually know their stuff about all different types of vehicles. If you need gears done, axle work, etc., this is your place. I cannot recommend them enough. Got gears, ARB rear locker, and new OEM axel seals installed on a 2017 Tacoma. The team there knocked it out in less than 3 hours. There is a nice break room with coffee, AC, and a bathroom for you to wait in. Drove from riverside back home to LA. Checked for any leaks, damages and new dash lights. Everything was good to go. The price was great from Premier. I don't think you're going to find lower prices in Southern California. The install was very quick, about an hour. I did have to wait a couple hours because they had all the lifts taken up even with an appointment at 9 AM. I think it was just unfortunate circumstances. Gears are great, no leaks from the shop. I will say they overtorqued both my wheel lugs and my differential plugs. I had to fully charged my 1/2 in impact wrench to loosen my wheel lugs. Also it looked like my rear diff oil was a little low when I went to replace it after break in. I provided this feedback and shop seems to be taking care of this feedback. I would recommend getting work done here. read more

After several days of searching and taking my time to review shops who can do my project I finally decided to take my 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 series to Premier West Gears. My first impression of the place was a little doubtful only because the location is so crowded. However I stuck with my gut feeling that they will take care of my car because of the great reviews. I'm impressed with their dedication and pride to do the "right thing". I had my gears changed front and back with a 4.88 Nitro gears and ARB F&R lockers. In the beginning it was supposed to be a 2 days job. It turned out to be a 9 days job. Apparently the stock third member can not accommodate the lockers and it would not fit. Carlos was amazing. He did not stop until he found the solution to the issue. I remember he said that my car will be the "Guinea Pig" since he has not experienced this before. These guys are legit and I will stand by any work that they do. Even though I don't have my car for a period of time they have taken care of my vehicle. Now, I'm a proud owner of an LC 200 that has gears that is one of a kind! Also they have an excellent competitive rates. In conclusion I am a very happy camper! I was hearing a whining/humming noise coming from my rear differential. I was told by several auto shops the job would cost at least $2000 because it needs to be overhauled. On top of that they needed my truck for a minimum of three days with a possibility of seven days. Finally one of the auto shops referred me to Premier West gears. The shop is a little out of my way but it came highly recommended. I called PWG and spoke with Miguel. He was very transparent with everything. He explained to me that my differential may not need to be overhauled. It might just need some bearings and seals, but they would know for sure after the inspection. I made an appointment with them and dropped off my truck and they called me that day with the results of the inspection and I was very pleased to hear it did not need an overhaul. Not only did PWG get this job done correctly for a great rate, they also finished the job in one day and gave me a one year warranty on parts and labor.
