Premier liquor definitely hits the five star mark. I've been to bigger and less expensive liquor stores, but Premier offers other features that bump it from 4 to 5 stars. Their selection is very good. They even have hand selected (Premier selected) bourbons from well-known distilleries, which suggests to me they care about their products and have good relations with distributors. Their prices are pretty good, but it is their samples and tasting classes that take them to the top for me. I love that you can try a wide array of samples on any given weekend, and if that's not enough, they offer free tasting/education classes on all sorts of booze (tequila, wine, brandy, etc.). I was just able to swing by their new location on Maple and it is so amazing. So much larger than their previous store. A huge liquor selection and also great food in the premier gourmet section as well. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to assist a customer. read more

I've been absolutely devastated since they moved from their Sheridan/Delaware location. That location was very convenient for me to stop almost any day. They have the best and largest selection in WNY for wines and spirits, not to mention the BEST prices. You really can't beat their prices at any other liquor store. I love Yellow Tail wines and they always offer them for around $4.99 - 5.99, with a Premier discount, AND a mail in rebate. End result - I can usually get about 10 bottles of wine for approx. $45 (after rebates). Since they have moved to the Maple location - I am not in that area much and don't frequent here as often as I used to and would like. They still remain my favorite liquor store for wines and spirits. If I know I need to buy a lot to restock or for a party, I will go out of my way to travel here. Would highly recommend. Finally had the opportunity to shop at their new Amherst location. Very impressed. During the last several months, I've been there 5-10 times. I've had a great experience every time. Enormous selection, great store and staff is there to assist with questions or general information. Pricing is higher, but like anything in life, you get what you pay for. I'm willing to pay more for better service, selection and employees that are passionate about their business. It's obvious that Premier takes pride in training their employees and managers appropriately, and it shows in the quality of their stores. Maybe this is part of the reason why they are known throughout the country for being among the best. An added bonus was the gourmet store, which was a carry-over from their old location on Delaware Ave. This is fantastic. You can find just about anything from the esoteric to the unsual. The liquor store and the gourmet shop are always clean, have great lighting and are merchandised very well. They have a great selection of bourbon and a tremendous high-end wine room. I checked this place out yesterday because frankly, I was bored. Holy cow. Any form of alcohol you could imagine is in this place. From cheap wine, to VERY expensive wine, they have a wine connoisseur in a suit. If liquor is your forte, they have it all. They also have a fun little airplane bottle area I ended up in. Delayed review, based on one visit 8/2015 All things considered, I have to imagine that this is the best wine store in the Buffalo area. Large, well-lit, very well-organized, and a truly great selection of wine from all over the world, as well as a deep selection of spirits. Not just mass-market corporate wine but a deep lineup of well-established wineries with good reputations, as well as some surprisingly cultish smaller producers. I walked in with the faint hope of trying to find one or two white Bordeaux (that month's ny times wine school subject), and was pleasantly surprised to easily find all three. Very nice. read more

Premier won't price match other store prices unless they are in an ad even if you have proof the other stores price is a lower everyday price. Premier isn't the cheapest if you have ever shopped around. And they don't put NY STATE wines on sale very often. What's wrong with them don't they want to "PREMIER" our fabulous state Reislings, which have gotten fabulous ratings in the WINE SPECTATOR. Shop around people there is better. read more

Everytime, I go this store looking for wine theres never anyone there to help for any questions I have or maybe a suggestion. With being such a big store you would think that their prices would be the cheapest. They buy in much more quantity than any other store. Plus, there double up for a buck is a total scam. I don't drink barefoot, but a 750 ml for 8.99? So, the second one makes it to 9.99, really? I see other stores sell their larger bottles of barefoot for 9.99 not on sale. Go elsewhere. This will be the first and last time I order from this store. I'm reviewing the Winedeals.com ordering experience not actually shopping in the store. I'll admit that they have a good selection of hard to find wines and that is where the praise ends. For one their website is cumbersome to use and it took me quite a long time to even get the shipping charges put on my order. If you don't choose the shipping early on they give you no option but to pick up at the store which is not gonna happen when you live in CA. Second after I finally put in my order I get an email from the sales associate a day later that they could not verify my age from the website and that I need to email or fax them my driver's licence. I don't know about you but this is not the age in time where sending personal information over internet is all that safe. I called the associate and left a message only to get a call back that I had to send the info or he would not send the wine and that it's NY law. Funny as I just bought wine today from another co in NY that never made me go through any of this. My only other option was to re-register on their website and maybe it will verify my age. I opted to fax him my licence. Well first he sends me the wrong fax number. Then after contacting him again he gives me the correct number but the fax they have would not communicate with my fax. Again never have a fax issue in the past. It redials and redials with no luck. Finally after 10 times it goes through. Finally thought it ended and I get a call that he could not read my licence even though it was as clear as can be from my end. Again what quality of fax do they have. So he wants to me send another fax and lighten it up. Did all that and again their fax didn't communicate just like before. 30 minutes later it finally goes thorough. You would think that would end the process but no he emails me saying he only got the year on my licence but that would suffice but he now tries to say that he's only following NY law and want's to know if I still want the wine. Hummm you mean I spent two days on this order and you now think I'm going to cancel it?......Of course not! But it sure is the last time with these folks. read more

They don't understand what customer service means...commercials are good, don't follow through. Had issue with a bottle, saved it for exchange, discount, return, whatever, was treated inconsiderately and condescendingly by GM, when I pointed out I had a been a loyal customer, they didn't seem to care about losing me, just argued said I didn't understand wine. It was their "attitude" of apathy about having my business, now lost customer for life...obviously think they are too big to care about that. read more

i ordered wine from them online on February 13th. I ordered from them because they "advertised" a specific wine and year that i love. i just received the wine today , March 5th. And it was not the year they advertised. I ordered a 2009 vintage and received a 2014 vintage. These people are a joke. I will NEVER order from them again. i wasted $80 on this order. If i knew they did not have the year they advertised i would have ordered from someone else. I would recommend anyone to NEVER order from these thieves. read more

If I can give no stars I would. Its funny how all the negative reviews gets deleted. Worse experience ever. I wrote a negative review but it got deleted so Im rewriting it. Management is the worst and the service is terrible. Couldn't buy wine because my aunt who was with me did not have her ID, while I'm clearly over the age of 21 and both my mom and I had our IDs. They told me I had to wait 24 hours to purchase again. I actually went back the next day with my aunt and because my mom wasn't there I couldn't purchase anything!!! (due to the fact that she was with me the day before and they remembered) What kind of BS is that??? Worst system ever! WIll never go back there again. There were several negative posts about this but looks like they all got removed somehow. So ridiculous. Waste of my time.
