We checked in without a problem. The room charge was comparable to other hotels at about $300/night. The room is cleaned after three days (make sure you schedule a time with the manager in advance!) and the parking situation is a little unsettled. There are about 3 more cars allowed than spots, so you can get a pass for street parking but the main office closes at 8 pm. So, if you arrive after 8 and didn't get a voucher and there are no more spots available you're out of luck. Fortunately, we didn't run into this problem as we made sure not to use the car after 8 p.m. We LOVED the location. It was within walking distance to all of our favorite restaurants along with some good breakfast and ice cream stops. The upstairs neighbors were very loud and we heard all of their running around, but that's probably customary with most of the small hotels in the area. The bottom line is, we felt safe, the room was clean, and the pool was nicely managed. We would patronize the Dolphin Inn again.

It's hard to beat the value. The only minor downside was that the beds were a little too firm for my liking. If you're a side sleeper, you may find them a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom is also a little dated, but it's spotless and fits Wildwood's classic 1950s motel charm, so it actually adds to the experience rather than taking away from it. Overall, this was a fantastic stay, and I wouldn't hesitate to book here again. I can't wait to come back!

It used to be five stars but if I could give them ZERO stars I would I was taught by my mother when I was a child that if you really want to get your point across with a business, you do not make a phone call or send an email, or even write a review about them on their webpage, you send a well written letter because it hits harder and it shows seriousness about the issues at hand. We have been back from our annual summer vacation at The Biscayne for a few weeks now and I have been thinking about how I would write this or if it is even worth my time writing this. All this time I kept hearing my late mothers voice in my ear telling me I must do it. Me and my fiancée Tina have been coming to The Biscayne now for the past 11 years. Before that she would come with her family every year well over 20 plus years. Over those years they had became very close with the ownership there. The problems started when we checked in. We had 2 rooms reserved. When we arrived only one of the 2 rooms were ready. We got checked in and we were told that we would be called when the second room was ready. So, we unpacked the car and put everything into the available room. This was at approximately 1pm. We then decided to go to lunch. We got back to the Biscayne at approximately 3pm and still no phone call. Tina's sister arrived with her family at approximately 330pm and they got their room. At 4pm myself and Tina walked down to the office and inquired about the second room. Pretty much to make a long story short they forgot to call us and made up some excuse. Strike 1, We were given the keys to the room and proceeded up to the room. As we walked it the room was nice. We immediately noticed there was no air conditioner in the bedroom and it was very uncomfortable. The only air conditioner was located between the bathroom and the kitchenette. Me and Tina both looked at each other and said "this is not going to work" We both went back down to the office and addressed the issue. We both got looked at as if they had no comprehension of what we were talking about. Tina explained that she is in menopause and she could not sleep in a room with no air conditioning and if we could possibly have our room changed. I guess that was not an option. We were then offered a fan for the room as if that would really help when the temps were over 90 the whole time we were there. Tina then stated to the staff at the desk if they could call Patrick to see if he could try to resolve the problem because if not we would just go home then she began crying. Patrick arrived and Tina explained the problem this is now after 5pm we went back up to the room and Tina showed him the issue and stated some ways that could fix the issue. The response she got from Patrick was "well when you booked I told you this and that" Tina's reply was "you didn't tell me there was no air conditioner in the room" Patrick now visibly getting annoyed relies back to us "it's almost 6pm what do you want me to do now" Strike 2. The answer that should have been given was "Tina, John I'm on it" Ultimately Patrick got a portable air conditioner and had the maintenance person install it. We both thanked him and told him we were sorry that he had to come in and handle this for us. He was very understandable so for that we thank him so much. Now Strike 3 occurred on the afternoon of July 30th. Myself, Tina, her daughter, her niece and her niece's boyfriend were all by the pool along with numerous other guests. Because there were no umbrellas and it was approximately 95 degrees out I grabbed one of the potted plants and stuck our beach umbrella in it. Many staff members and guests noted that it was a great idea since there are not enough umbrellas. Patrick's father was doing his rounds and saw my umbrella idea. He immediately started screaming at us "You stuck an umbrella in a live plant, take that out" "you're going to kill that plant how dare you move it". He was literally screaming at us in front of everyone by the pool. We have never been so embarrassed in all our lives and you could tell that the other guests were very surprised on how he treated us. I then tried to explain to him that I only did it because it was blazing hot and we needed some relief from the sun and the only 3 umbrellas at the pool were being used by other guests. The way he was screaming was uncalled for and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! He then went on "How we were told the day before about doing it" I replied "it was not us, we were at the beach until 5pm" He then scolded me to put the plant back to where it was which I did without any argument or hesitation. I suggested to him maybe to get more umbrellas because obviously 3 are not enough. Ran out of room but you get the picture

The room was a decent size too with two bedrooms, a dining table that seated six and a pull out sofa. They are located in the block with the beach so it was a short walk to the beach. And they have TWO heated pools! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Any other guests we crossed paths with were friendly too! We are looking forward to possibly staying there everything summer for a year after our stay this week!

I brought my legal service dog for the last 2 years we have gone and stayed for the firemans convention, and that's when we started receiving attitude from some of the people who work there/own the business. I just found out they are REFUSING to let us stay there anymore specifically because of my service dog. The reason we were given? His fur. Though contained only to our suite (primarily one bedroom in the suite), THAT was the excuse. If you had asked me 2 years ago, I would have told everybody and their mother to stay there. I would definitely stay here again! When we arrived, we had to call for them to greet us in the drive way. Which was also our parking. I wore my mask at this time because I wasn't sure on policy and they put theirs on because I had mine on. (I guess NJ Iifted the mask mandate, but they respected me wearing mine. Which I thought was fantastic). We were then given a tour of the house and given the rules. They never bothered us, which I really appreciated. If we did need anything, all we had to do was text and/or call and they responded quickly. This place was very beautiful and welcoming. I just loved looking around and exploring. They have a super cute snack table with crackers, candy, and prepackaged granola bars/baked goods. They also had coffee and tea available in the dining room for most of the day. A communal mini fridge and microwave were provided for guests that were clean and well maintained. There are plenty of places to park as well if needed. And despite other people staying in separate rooms in this home, I still felt like I had my own space. Never once did I think it was too loud with other guests. There was also bikes, games, books and movies provided for guests to use and unfortunately the jacuzzi was still closed due to covid. We stayed in the Walt Whitman room. Located on the second floor. It was very small, but cozy. We had to make use of the dresser and closet for our clothes and things because we had to slide our luggage under the bed. Which wasn't a huge deal. There is a sink in the room which was strangely useful. The bed was very clean and comfortable. It had coverings on the mattress to keep it free of bugs and allergens. (I'm always checking for bed bugs. Had a bad experience once.) It was a double bed, but my partner and I had no issues. There is also some air conditioning and a ceiling fan and never got too warm. Off the room was this fantastic deck that we had our breakfast every morning and enjoyed our evenings on, settling down before bed. The bathroom is across the hall and it is a private bathroom. You could lock it and they provided a key. The bathroom was quite large with a beautiful claw foot tub. The shower was very powerful with the pressure and it was hard to not get the floor wet. I felt bad because of the gorgeous hard wood floors. Breakfast was absolutely INCREDIBLE everyday. I was always looking forward to what they whipped up for the morning. Now with covid, it was still all takeout. Which I didn't mind because I'm not a social butterfly and enjoyed the privacy. They should keep this option. But the dishes ranged from freshly made breakfast sandwiches and burritos to stuffed French toast. It was all delicious! Orange juice, fruit cups, and some sort of soft, warm, and luscious pastry was also included. Again, I would 100% stay here again. Natalie and Todd were excellent hosts and super friendly. When I called the heart of Wildwood motel to make a reservation i spoke with the owner Rakesch. We told him the dates we were planning to come and booked everything through him! When he asked us for a deposit we requested if we could zelle him the money and he said that was fine. So the reservation was book and i recieved an email conformation and everything was completed and set for our trip in August. The next day comes and I received a phone call from Angie (who is the owner as well) as soon as she heard my voice she seemed very irate and started questioning me about who I was, how do I know Rackesch, why I booked for 4 days and why he gave me a discount. She came off very aggressive, hostile and had a MAJOR attitude on the phone. She didn't even give me chance to explain myself and who I was. She then proceeded to ask me questions about my reservation and how I can't zelle my money for the deposit because her and her husband and her are divorced and how he is not a nice man and that he will take my money and pocket it. She also then started bashing him about how hes ruining the business they have together and that she divorced him for many reasons as I could tell. ** When I picked up the phone call from Angie I was at work and just so happen to be on my lunch break and I was able to have a phone conversation. I was in front of my co-worker, and he heard the whole conversation and could not believe that a owner was talking to a customer like that about her family issues, her divore and her trying to find out information as if it was my fault. And how she called frantically thinking that I was doing something wrong. When I wasn't doing anything wrong, I just booked a reservation with him. First off, I had NO IDEA they were divorced and quite frankly I really dont care because its none of my business. They BOTH are running their business TOGETHER and from what she was accusing me about was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISGUSTING it made me feel VERY uncomfortable. I guess when she heard a females voice she automatically assumed I may have interest in her ex- husband and that he was giving me a deal to stay which wasn't even the case everyone who mails a check gets the 10% discount offered!! I told her that my family and I booked a trip and that we would be staying there. We have booked our vacations with them for the last 3 years. And since my friend didn't book it, and I did as soon as I told her, who my friend was, she was very apologetic and said, i'm so sorry I was unprofessional and questioning you about all these things. She demanded me to pay with a check for our deposit so i did and then asked for my credit card information to hold our reservation and I booked the trip with her to confirm it. When I got off the phone she called me another 2 times and didnt realize it was me again. Once we ended the call I wrote the check immediately and mailed it to her for the deposit. I asked for Angie to call me when she received the check. She didnt call and just sent me an invoice via email when she got the check and I then I called because the money for the deposit was still in my account. When I called again, she had an attitude and I was very thrown off and I asked her why the check wasn't deposited yet she said she misplaced the check and she couldn't find it. I asked her where the check was and she said, I must have lost it in the paperwork (not what I wanted to hear)..... I was very thrown off and extremely upset that she lost my check knowing it was posted and could of been cashed by whoever at this point. Angies response back was to call my bank and cancel the check. I told her to try to find my check that she misplaced and I would call back the next day to see if she found it. I called back the next day and another girl who works there picked up and said Angie wasn't at work yet to call back in an hour. So, I did, and when I called back again, she had another attitude. I asked if she found the check, she said, no. And she got very angry and said to call my bank and cancel the check. Like, she told me the day before. During the conversation she got even more angry and started yelling and being disrespectful and she responded to me and said, "don't you ever make a mistake in life?" And I told her nicely that this has nothing to do with a lost check! I said I just dont get it and how she could be so careless with someone's money when she owns a business!
