We were seated promptly and started with coffee and a Pecan Cinnamon Bun. I don't normally love cinnamon rolls but this was incredible - the glaze was delish and it was moist all the way through. Also, it was huge! For entrees, I couldn't decide between salty and sweet. Luckily, they offer 1/2 portions on many of their dishes! I got a 1/2 portion of the Biscuits & Gravy and a 1/2 portion of The Cure French Toast. The biscuits and gracy were to die for - duck fat pork sausage gravy?! Say no more. The food is overpriced and nothing comes with any sides. Everything you want is an extra charge. The food has random herbs on them but they don't add any flavor, overall under seasoned. How do you make bacon unsalty, and then charge $5 for two pieces of flab? Met some friends here for brunch around 10am on a Sunday. We had a larger party (7) however, our wait time was roughly 15 minutes--extremely reasonable. Once we sat, the waiter came promptly to take our drink orders and give menu suggestions, which I appreciated because everything looked so good. I went with the Steak and Egg Sandwich--highly recommend. The ingredients were fresh and it was delicious, including the side of breakfast potatoes. My husband and I went to Tucson for the weekend and stopped by this cute spot for breakfast. Since it was our first time in, our server offered us a free pasrty. It was like a donut with whipped cream. It was so light and delicious. A perfect starter before our food came. I had the smoked salmon hash. It was sooo good. The only critique that I have is that I wished it had more salmon in it. Other than that, there was a perfect balance of egg, veggies and potatoes. Came here for brunch on a Saturday around lunch time, they're were so busy. We didn't have to wait long, maybe 20 minutes. I loved how they use yelp, made it easier to track. Service was good considering how busy they were. I got the chefs French toast, which was the strawberry lemon pie. It was pretty good, not too sweet but I couldn't taste much of the lemon which was honestly fine with me. My friend got the grilled cheese and soup and it was delicious. I also got a side of the potatoes. MUST GET THE POTATOES!!! They're crispy and flavorful and yummy. I also got a chai latte, so good. This time I got the sweet potato hash and the chicken and waffles, which you can get half orders of so you don't have to miss any of your favorites. They did change their recipe for their Michelada; this one has tequila in it. I would recommend getting a beer back to go with it. The prep omelet and potatoes was good, the shakshuka was ok (needed more flavor and more bread or pita for dipping). Chai latte too sweet, and a waiter said many of their other special beverages are made equally sweet. The lower rating is due to our negative experience with take-out. I bit down on a piece of wire in the prep relleno, and it was very painful. I went to a dentist and thankfully my tooth was not cracked. I didn't want this to happen to anyone else, so I very politely contacted Prep & Pastry about it including a photo of the wire and spoke with a manager. I was refunded for the one entree through the delivery app. Prep & Pastry said if I came back they'd offer me a free meal, but I have no desire to return after that painful experience. In terms of food, we had the Breakfast Sammie and the Plain Jane (pancakes) with a side of bacon. The sandwich was filling with its bacon, scrambled egg, veggies, and cheese and came with a side of potatoes ($14). The pancakes ($12) were a stack of 3 and came with macerated strawberries and blueberries and whipped cream. After all the years (10+ years) I've been eating here I never had a bad experience, until today 9/26/2023. The waitress off top was super rude and very unwelcoming. We told her we were ready to order she then walks away with yet another attitude. Why would I want to eat at a place where I feel like I'm the inconvenience. Like why are you working here and you have an attitude. If you can't provide the same services to everyone this ain't the job for you. Period. Walking around mad at the world. This place has been on my list to try since my kid has been at the university (about 2 yrs.), every time my friend and I go to Tucson for the weekend, we stop by Sunday morning before heading back home. I noticed him and all other staff wore gloves, tables were wiped down and all the salt and pepper shakers were eliminated. Straws were offered with our drinks... nice to see, taking all the right precautions. I ordered the house Bloody Mary, loved the Beer Chaser that accompanied it. We ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwiches (noels honey dijon, tangy slaw, bread and butter pickles), Prep Omelete (herbed goat cheese, kale pesto, tea smoked tomatoes, spinach, avocado, prep's potatoes) and 2 of the puffiest Chocolate Chip Cookies I've ever seen.
