Was trying to find somewhere cheaper than American Barber but better than Great Clips for my teenage son. We like Danville Barber but don't love that they only take cash. Booked here online and chose the appropriate haircut based on descriptions, but when we arrived, only one stylist was working and she only had the skills for basic cuts. I came to Prep hair salon on a recommendation from a friend. She told me to ask for Bianca. I brought a picture. I'm an older person and I wanted pretty big change. Bianca did an amazing job. She's obviously extremely good at what she does. She textured my hair. She gave me the look I was wanting. And in addition, great head and neck massage while getting my hair washed that is such a treat. She gave me suggestions how to keep my hair looking like she left it. How to wash it and dry it so I have body. I will definitely be going back. She was wonderful. read more

As my first time getting my hair professionally done all I can say is i'm SUPER satisfied. I was looking for some volume and having less hair since I have thick hair that tends to feel heavy at times. I got my hair cut done by Bianca, she was super amazing on explaining what needs to be done in order to add volume to my very stubborn straight hair. We ended up doing layers that framed my face in front and gave volume to the back. Overall everything was amazing and Ms.Bianca is a awesome stylist. :) read more

I had been struggling to find a new hairdresser I trusted around the area since I had moved back to the Bay after college, so I am very excited I stumbled upon Prep! I had a fantastic overall experience here and Naomi did a fantastic job with my curly hair. I am always very hesitant to trust anyone with my hair, but my concerns were thrown out the window when I saw the finished product. I left the salon feeling refreshed and happy with my cut! i have been to san ramon location multiple times and always had a good experience. i went to the danville location because san ramon was busy, and i got a stylist named rachel. she cut over 6 inches off of my hair when i specifically asked her to keep the length and just trim the dead ends. she even held up my hair to show me how much she would cut, and i agreed to the 2 inches she showed me. but after going in to cut my hair before washing, after washing, and after blow drying, she ended up chopping more than what i agreed to. she tried to part my hair on the side when i part it in the center, claiming she was following the flow of my hair. luckily i caught it and corrected her, because i have never NOT had a hair stylist ask how i part my hair. then she continued to only cut layers on one side, so my hair falls in a diagonal line when i put it up. she did not show me the back of my hair until all was said and done. my hair has never looked worse and after all the hard work i did for months to grow it out, rachel ruined it in less than 45 minutes. read more

I have a dry scalp and the scalp treatments have given my hair new life. Today we did a glaze and my hair is back to shiny and looking healthy! Bianca is amazing! I've gone to her a couple of times for a haircut, but I reached out in hopes that she would fix an unfortunate hair job at another salon that left me with choppy hair and uneven, orange, 90s highlights. Although the other salon offered to fix it, I decided to cut my losses and just ask Bianca for help. To my luck, she had a big cancellation and was able to fit me in not even 30 minutes after I called. In ~3.5 hours, she was able to get my hair color corrected/blended, cut, and looking much healthier than when I went in. I scheduled a hair cut and trim with Samina and was very disappointed with the results. When asked what service I wanted I told her a trim and long layers in the back, but when she did the cut I could tell the way she was cutting my hair in a blunt (straight) cut she was not layering at all. I had such a great experience here. I was weary to try someone else since my stylist I've had has moved on. You know that sinking feeling when your person is no longer available? Regardless, I needed to get my hair done and my appt was still booked for the day we had made. I never write online reviews but feel compelled to warn people. I took my two boys in today. They both had not had haircuts in a year so their hair had gotten long. They both agreed they wanted their hair cut much shorter but the stylist Taylor wanted to leave their hair long. I told him specifically I wanted their hair cut back short as did the kids. We ended up paying $130 for them to each barely get a trim and now I have to go take them to a barbershop asap to get their hair cut properly. They both are very unhappy with their haircuts and felt he didn't listen to them and I left crying at the massive waste of time and money. I have never had an experience like this where a hair stylist just did what they wanted completely disregarding the clients wishes. read more

I have been to the Walnut Creek location three times, but decided to visit the Danville one. I chose Bianca to cut my hair, and it was probably one of the best haircuts I've ever received. I told her my needs and wants and she gave me the results I wanted for thinning out my thick hair. She really takes the time to ensure that the customer is happy with the end results. I really wanted to like this place as it was recommended by my sister. I've been cutting my own long hair for several years and finally I decided to get it done professionally. I sat down with Samina and asked her to cut 2 inches off and cut some long layers. She cut about 4-5 inches off my length and cut thick choppy layers that aren't blended. She also thinned out the longer part under the layers so it looks stringy and horrible. I'm so sad. Guess I'll go back to cutting it myself when it finally grows out. read more

I have a 7 year old boy with curly hair. I like for him to have a stylish cut with a fade that shows off his curls (like the big kids). Before i found Samina at Prepcuts other barbers and salons would always nod their head that they could do the cut on the picture and tge result would look like a butchered cut that was too short. Samina does exactly what i show her in our example picture and doesnt cut too much off the top! I am so thankful i found her! She does a great fade on the sides too. I highly recommend her. They also serve free drinks and give the kids lollipops. It costs $5-10 more than a barber but worth it imo. read more
