I really wanted to like my haircut since the woman cutting it was so nice and friendly but I have to say, the more I look at it the more I dislike it. First off, my hair was down to my butt, probably a little further, I asked for about five to six inches off (so a good amount) with long layers and some tapered out curtain bangs. Instead I got a little over shoulder length hair (significantly shorter than I had showed her) and VERY choppy bangs, almost like a shelf. I so badly wanted to love my hair as I never really spend the money for a salon experience and I'm preparing for my wedding in a few months, so I'm disappointed in what I got. The haircut isn't awful but it definitely isn't great nor what I had wanted. Unfortunately, I do not recommend and I would not go back. read more

I decided on taking my 10 year old daughter here after her soccer game. She needed a trim and wanted front side layers to frame her face. The salon is located in the Trader Joe's shopping center in Danville. Nice area. Her haircut was nicely done, but also much more than the 2 inches my daughter requested. No biggie, her hair will grow back. The one thing I have to bring stars down for is that the misconception of pricing. I checked Yelp for a salon that worked with kids and had experience doing it. Their ratings and all of their pictures shown me that this was a place that specializes in kid cuts. Prices on the website states it is $35 for a "junior cut". I come to check out and it is $59! I was not happy, and honestly, shocked. I asked about the pricing, and they said that the Junior Cut was for 3-5 year olds. That should of been clearly stated on their website. My daughter received a "long length" cut, even though she also simply asked for a trim. For a place that posts multiple pictures of kids, I would of thought I was paying for a kid's priced-hair cut. We have been here before and have seen Samina everytime, and she cut my kids hair ok. We went to see her again today and my son's hair is so uneven and butchered. I don't know how you make one side a whole inch shorter than the other and think it's ok. It's like half of his head is an inch or more shorter than the other side. We asked for a trim on the sides and a little shorter on the top, maybe an inch or less, and she cut off three inches at least. The long part was nearly down to his chin so we asked for it to be an inch shorter - she made it an inch ABOVE his eyebrow, which is obviously way more than an inch. And on top of that, one side of his hair is an inch shorter than the other - for reference, my son asked her to trim the sides to even them up, and now they're so uneven and crooked. Unfortunately, we didn't notice just how uneven it was until we left. My child is very upset and we won't be going back. Wasted 60 dollars. read more

Today I had an appointment with Adriana, hair stylist. I asked for brown with blonde balayage. I showed the pictures. I don't know if she knew what she was doing, because she would keep asking questions her manager Bianca. She did said in order for my blonde to be more noticeable, I would need two appointments, to add low lights for dimensions. It was ok with me. They did not tell me that my hair would end up being orange. I still have gray hair. My hair ended up being ORANGE AND NOT BALAYAGE. MY WHOLE HAIR FROM THE ROOT HAD ORANGE TONES . IT LOOKS LIKE I AM WEARING A WIG. I asked them to fix it, but said they didn't have time, because they were closing soon. The most frustrating part is that I have to go on vocation tomorrow and it is very very sad that I did not get my hair done the way I wanted it. My husband was shocked when he saw my hair. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hair salon, I really wanted to like this salon, because it is close to my house, but I am not planning to come back. I recently moved to the Danville area and was in need of a haircut. I luckily found PREP and they had an opening (their website was so easy to navigate!) so I booked it for a long hair cut. What I loved is that you could add on the option of adding more of a style using a curler or straightener for an additional $20! Not bad at all. Upon walking in, the place is clean, spacious and very bright! I absolutely loved my experience with Samina; she was attentive and cut my hair exactly as I wanted. My hair has never felt so soft and healthy! Will definitely be back soon! read more

well this is concerning this has 4 1/2 stars unless someone knows a specific person that works here. I went once and the lady was nice but not good at hair I'm at 23 year old male who asked for a simple shirt boys cut. The cut was uneven and had completely different taper sides . In conclusion did not look good or professional for a $50 hair cut. Politely went back and asked what they could do. They offered to fix it and somehow managed to only mess up the parts that looked good and leave the rest. This was a different lady also very polite but not good at hair. read more

First time at Prep and what a disappointment. My tween daughter was looking forward for her haircut in a "grown up" salon. I discussed the haircut with the stylist - Elaine, agreeing to cut 4 inches of my daughters very long and naturally curly hair and add shorter layers and left (big mistake) expecting to pick up my daughter in 40-50 minutes. To my surprise, my daughter called me 30 minutes later to say she is ready to go. I came back in a couple of minutes to pick up a child with wet hair. Stylist explained that she attempted to blow dry but hair got puffy so she just prayed it with water and left as it is. Really? My daughter's hair were blow dried a few times before and no stylist blamed her hair for being too puffy. I guess it requires some experience which the stylist lacked. Haircut was ok, but no layers as we discussed, just shortened at straight line. The hair is too short now to correct it. Overall not worth $59+cash tip. One star for easy booking and one star for the ambience of the saloon, no stars for the service. read more
