The chicken was a little hard and the color was grey for whatever reason. I still ate it and it was a little dry but it's fine. I wasn't expecting the matzah ball in the ramen and it was so yummmmmy. It was okay (nothing special), but complimented the soup well. In all, this was a pleasant surprise and find in the Shaw neighborhood. I'm in love! I was feeling kinda crappy yesterday and just really wanted soup. But like good soup! Not just out of a can soup. I wanted like "soup n@zi" soup! I had a hard time picking between the ramen-ish and the pot pie. Ended up going with the pot pie. Well slap me sideways if that wasn't some damn good soup! I had to add a little salt but I also like things well seasoned. A lot of people have mentioned that. Honestly I'd rather have to salt something than have it come to me too salty. Can't do anything about that. Plus when you're sick your taste buds are messed up anyway. We ordered 2 bi-partisan regular and one GF via a 3rd party delivery service app. Unfortunately when they arrived they all looked the same. I called the store and they said the GF should be clearly marked. I really appreciate that they acknowledged I didn't get GF and didn't try to encourage me to eat it anyway. Because it was delivery through a 3rd party the person said that only a manager could offer me any correction and that the best they could do was leave a note for the next day's manager. I let it go and found something else to eat. The gluten eaters did enjoy their soup, and their first experience of matzah balls (thanks!) and to my pleasant surprise the next days manager did make an effort to make it right. We are in DC for a few more days, I hope to get another chance at the GF because the soup did look great, and I do trust them, and I love the set up they have to send care packages- I will definitely keep that idea in my pocket for my local friends. read more

I made the mistake of clicking 'pickup' instead of 'delivery' However, it was an easy fix with a phone call. I would've given 5 stars...but to my disappointment my soup was completely cold. A place that specializes in in chicken soup is a great idea and you expect it to be really-really-really good. If I have to choose between the grandma's style (3 star) versus the bi-partisan soup (3.5 stars) , I'll definitely go with the bi-partisan soup. The Matzoball is a nice addition to it but the soup is spicier and more flavorful compared to the grandma's style which is on the safer side. They are quite generous in giving the chunks of chicken, but the could have been more generous given the price point. The four-star rating is definitely given to its toffee crackers cookies!! I had some surgery done and in my wisdom before I went to the hospital, I ordered two orders of the bipartisan chicken soup to be delivered after I got home, so I have for the next couple days of recovery. I did this even though I had previously had a kind of rough experience with Prescription Chicken - stringy, overcooked chicken, matzoh balls that were as dense as a baseball, flavorless and underseasoned broth, and undercooked vegetables. But I had a better experience this Passover. I'm glad to say that whatever happened my my first time, this was a much improved experience. Admittedly my sense is smell is missing, but I still felt that I could taste it. And it tasted great. Matzoh balls were fluffy instead of dense, tasteful and seasoned broth, cooked vegetables. And the chicken, while still a bit stringy, was not as bad and was mostly edible. This isn't as good as my grandma's chicken soup (that's impossible to match) but if you're in a pinch, it's a really solid choice. read more

I have to say, I love prescription chicken. I have ordered the chicken noodle, faux pho, and hangover soup, and they are all great. I like the spice in the latter two, but sometimes you are just in the mood for a classic chicken noodle. I also like to order with ginger ale, which always does wonders when I am sick. My problem with this is it is SO EXPENSIVE. I spent several days being sick, and every order of prescription chicken ends up being nearly $20, when you include a $14 soup, $2 ginger ale, and then various fees from the delivery companies. It is great soup, but I think you are generally getting it when you really really need it (AKA, too sick to get out of bed) and otherwise heading to the grocery story and stocking up on more affordable soups.
